      Helios 500 is similar to AS 100 which used to be sold as the Helios 600. Both are decent enough scanners. Helios 100 is the most economical option on the market. AS 260 is slightly different in terms of its proposition and has more developed software etc. Currently reviewing the Helios 500 and will release full review soon

      Helios 600 is an alliedstar rebrand. Helios 500 is the companies own intraoral scanner. Helios 600 (AS 100) is now owned by straumann and will slowly stop being made I think for Helios as the company pushes the AS brand. Otherwise, both seem capable of a low-cost scanner.

    I would love to know the print speed of this printer vs the formlabs form 4 vs sprint ray pro 2

    • @InstituteofDigitalDentistry
      @InstituteofDigitalDentistry 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We have been using it pretty heavily in our clinic and lab, and what I will say is that Ultra is not a super fast printer like what Sprintray and the new Formlabs are pushing. Models etc take 1.5-2x longer than some of those printers. Nor is it the easiest to use, like Formlabs. But it has unmatched print quality. This is why labs love it. You see this when printing dies and how they fit in the model, all on x restorations without distortion of holes, etc. Even models, you often can't see any printing lines, etc. Also, the Ultra has a huge build platform, so you get around the speed a little bit by being able to print many models at once. I think it is hard to beat Asiga for print quality and results. I believe each one of those printers is strong in this current market, and each has its place. Sprintray does extremely well in chairside thanks to its overall workflow, wash and cure (nanocure is epic). Formlabs is also coming back with the 4B which is much, much faster than previous SLA. Hope that helps :)

    • @InstituteofDigitalDentistry
      @InstituteofDigitalDentistry 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@DrKerolusmagid medit is by far the most developed in terms of software and overall workflows. If you just want a scanner for basic indications they will literally all work (single crown etc). QSCAN 7000 is a white labeled Runyes scanner. What you buy depends on how much you want to spend, what you want from scanner software and if you want to do more complicated scans like edentulous, all on x etc. Check out all our reviews here for more info: instituteofdigitaldentistry.com/category/intraoral-scanner-reviews/

      Yes, we have been using it quite heavily for the past 3 months or so. I have to say I really like this printer, and my lab team does too. It's fast, prints nicely, and is quite easy to use. The build quality is solid and impressive for its relatively low cost. Quality is high, but I think the top price still goes to Asiga Ultra at the moment. In saying that this is once again very good for the price tag. The only downside I see at the moment is limited resins, but the company says they are addressing this soon.

    Thank you for all your wonderful reviews. I think I know why you have been delaying the publication of your Smart by PANDA review. Compare the previous review of June 28, 2024 with the review of July 12, 2024, The roughness of the Smart by PANDA scan data in the second review appears to be even worse. Is this symbolic of the instability caused by Smart by PANDA's less-than-technical perfection? Or is this standard for a low-priced $1,000 equivalent device? The coarse resolution of the convexity of the sinusoidal border and the mysterious unevenness of the smooth surfaces seem to be due to an incorrect formula in the scanning software. I would have purchased PANDA if it was on the same level as Runyes 3DS 3.0, but I hesitate to buy PANDA because its current performance is not up to the practical level. Also, in the Smart by PANDA comparison photo, I was wondering, the gap between adjacent surfaces seems to be read deeper than other scanners, is that a miss-data? I have several requests for you. Please state the version of the software used for the scan. If possible, please make the original files of the scanned data available for download. I am very interested in the Fussen S7000, so if you own one, please let me know, even if it is just a brief review.

      Oh wow. I didn’t even know that. They do look exactly the same and even the software looks the same. Could you tell me how it could be inferior to others because it seems it can do everything without a limitation besides itero being exclusive for invisalign. My main reason for buying a scanner is full arch restoration (10 crown preps on each arch), to take bite registration, and also to do some implant restorations and scan for diagnostic models.

    • @InstituteofDigitalDentistry
      @InstituteofDigitalDentistry 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both are good scanners, and it's a close call. I think as an overall product TRIOS Core wins as it has a much more developed software suite, software implant workflows and is better at edentulous scanning (so your all on x cases). In saying that, Aoralscan is also close to 2k cheaper. As always try both at your next conference/expo in your region and that is the best way to pick. See what you like. Hope that helps :)

    I read the article comparing the four Medit models. Thanks for the great review. I think my concerns are a little clearer now. I am amazed at the excellent clarity of the i500 margins in these results. The i900 seems to have no advantages other than speed and size. On a different note, I can't wait to see a detailed review of the PANDA Smart. I've heard that the scanning software has been greatly improved recently. I know you are a busy man, but I await with anticipation.
