How is the support? Medit has awesome support.
Is there a yearly/monthly fee?
Hi, have you had a chance to review the scanner from coxo, dl300p?
Not yet, but I expect to later this Q1. Just FYI it is a white-label LAUNCA scanner: www.launcadental.com/launca-dl-300-wireless-intraoral-scanner-product/
Hi, Can I get some help? I have keysplint soft and procure 1(gen1 sprintray). I followed your video clip but the result is not good. I did candy coat after polish, and cure half and the other half time with glicerin. curing result come out yellosh and still sticky. cure1 program for keysplint soft is 30min, 50' Could you please help me what the problem is? :)
Here is some advice - normally cure it first and then quick polish, then candy coat with like 1 min pre cure after painting it on, then glycerin cure for another 1 min, or 2 . Depending on how thick the candy coat layer is. It cannot be too thick , it will trap bubbles. Use the same curing parameter, yellow could be the too long or too much power from the UV light.
Hi , I never get that clear nightguard, really look amazing . I’ll try that …,any tips for Einstein 3d printer and curing ?
best advice is make sure you minimise touching the surface before curing and candycoat etc
Helios 500? 😢
Will be published Jan 2025 :)
@@InstituteofDigitalDentistry @aristotelasrafael2444 Helios 680 is latest from Eighteeth
Also encode custom abutment cost the lab $130-$150. The the ti base fad has come and gone.
You are not wrong, I think we will see the rise of custom abutments for sure.
There is a new customized multi unit abutment that can be changed as needed at the time of surgery. It is very slick.
They have a number of really innovative solutions.
Thanks for the post. But why not focus on the Android platform? Many doctors use it, too.
What about longevity of this restauration?
We were promised Dexis 3800 Review by the 1st quarter 2024; I guess you meant 2025 😓

What is the difference of the quality of the scans between a Panda 2 (which I have for two years now) and a Panda Smart? My most important objects are the abutments of single piece implants (like those from Monoimplant and Ihde-Dental). If these abutments are shortend or if they are partly cut, to compensate for the insertion direction, it is often difficult to scan them with sufficient accuracy. A more precise scanner like the Panda Smart may be helpfull, but I did not find any example data or review about this.
In my opinion the Panda Smart is far superior to Panda 2.
Love the interview!! I am from india and would love to get the printer in future. What would be the cost of midas?
Thank you! The cost of Midas is $9,995 USD
Why use a narrator with a cold?
Thanks for your comment! Just to clarify, there’s no cold here-maybe that’s just how the narrator sounds. Let’s keep it constructive!
Why can I not buy the intraoral photogrammetry system for my current Trios scanner and not buy the shining scanner? When one company sells the kit and software to work with any scanner that is the one everyone will buy. All we need is DESS to setup or shining to go open system
Because it is all done within their software. You cannot plug and play any scanner into it.
Nice, but I agree on both scans 2nd molars were not completed, and I would like to see a detailed examination of digital models. I think the time is a little
Do you suggest this panda smart scanner or the helios 500? Which one is better? Thank you.
Both are about the same level. Helios 500 has a slightly better UI and software. Panda is pen size and small.
When will the review come out?
Within 2 weeks
Keep an eye out here - instituteofdigitaldentistry.com/category/intraoral-scanner-reviews/
i bought these one i need help
What help do you need? It is best to contact your local distributor who sold it to you
What do you think will be the next steps from dentsplySirona and medit with their cloud platforms? And what would you whish for?
Dentsply has moved scanning to the cloud natively. Which is a big move. Next, I expect CAD on the cloud, etc. Medit not sure what their move is going to be. Their recent scanner, the i900, was much the same in terms of cloud, but the company was way ahead of its time with their cloud syncing, etc. I would not be surprised if more companies make devices that can scan directly only the cloud in the future.
Would you pick a trios core or medit i600?
TRIOS Core = great scanner still even though its close to a decade old. Showing its age a bit. It is larger, heavier, and slower to heat up than the medit. But is better at scanning edentulous and blood. Medit = more modern, newer, smaller, single cord. Great option for a low cost esp if all you want is for crown and bridge Etc. So both are good in their own way. Try both :)
Excellent insights I believe due to huge competition; we more technical innovations by R&D investments.
Thank you. Agreed, it will just keep getting better and better. And those companies without big R&D budgets will likely be left behind
Why allienedstar as200 does not have calibration device
Many scanners are calibration-free these days like TRIOS 5. This is another one hence not needing a calibration tool.
Hello dr do you have any video talking about scanner calibration ? Which from what i have heard is most common issue in oral scanners I asked the company about the AS200 and they told me that no need to do calibration bcz it has has like an auto calibration feature . What do you think
AS260 and all Alliedstar scanners are calibration-free. This is similar to many scanners on the market now. So they don't require calibration and should be fine unless badly damaged.
Dear Doc. Do you know how support for this kind of scanner is in scandinavia? Does the producer offer any kind of troubleshooting?. The market here in Denmark seems very limited and the prices are skyhigh for scanners like 3shape or others via the dentaldealers - you can buy this machine for about 1/4 of the price of and basic 3shape model. I know its a lowcost model but it seems to offer what I am looking for without a major integration with our journalizingsystem. Thank you for a good review!
The best way is to find a local distributor. Or contact the company directly and ask who their distributor is in your region. This would be the ideal support channel. In saying that, most companies these days work very well with a virtual team, and simply providing support online / using remote connectivity software to help you get started.
does wireless scanners has connection issues?
Short answer no. The connection is very stable just like all other wireless IOS in 2024. These modern scanners are great and totally different to the ones from 5 years ago
Thanks for this interview. Very informative as usual. Your intraoral scanner videos helped me make the choice to finally buy a Shining 3D Elite for my practice (I might wait for the wireless version tho to see the price and features it has). I've been dying to see some Extraoral Scanner videos since this is probably my next big purchase. I've been waiting for IA features to come out but it's taking forever and very little information is available online (I guess it's a lot harder to test extraoral than it is to test intraoral scanners). I hope you will do a lot more videos on Extraoral scanners in general. And I think many would also be interested in dental milling and 3D printing. Please share any interesting resources you have on the subjects. Thanks a million for your great work.
Thanks for the kind words! By extraoral scanners do you mean lab scanners? Lab scanners are an interesting product set as many labs these days just use IOS to digitise impressions. We personally use E4 by 3Shape which has been excellent. Many other good options exist like the Medit one too.
@@InstituteofDigitalDentistry Hi, and thanks for your answer. I misspoke, I was referring to Panoramic X-Ray machines, Cephalo and CBCT... Those go from 15k€ up to 80k€ in my country and it's difficult to get objective non advertisement information on the subject.
@@filsdugrand Totally agree. I personally use a DEXIS CBCT. We have had the same one for close to 15 years decades and I have been really happy with it. I have also heard great things about Planmeca and VATECH options. It is hard to get an objective opinion because not many few people have multiple CBCTs so it is hard to compare if you have only used one. Jordan in this episode does give some tips and pointers. I would say the first thing to figure out is how big you want the FOV and then work from there
Take away the innovative scanning in the cloud… is it any better than the Primescan 1? Do you see this as an upgrade or just a completley different scanner?
Read this - instituteofdigitaldentistry.com/intraoral-scanner-reviews/primescan-2-intraoral-scanner-review/ It covers everything. If you have good internet, it is as good as PS1 but comes with all the advantages of cloud computing. If you don't have good internet, Primescan 1 will be better for you.
Great work once again, Doc! How does the scanner do in a bloody field? How does this workflow relay the post op soft tissue scan to the lab for CAD of the temp? Thanks!
It works very well. Close to TRIOS, which is the GOAT of scanning bloody surgery sites.
What about scanning?
Its great at scanning. Very good, basically, but TRIOS 5 is still the best for edenutlous. Elite is very very close and works well as an all-round scanner.
This technology comes from the Sun Yuchun team of Peking University in China.
That team should be very proud of what they achieved. Incredible innovation!
It’s always a pleasure see you two guy’s speaking about applications Ayush should be seen from everyone before diving into printing. ❤THX
Thank you! Ayush is a legend. I always enjoy our chats and learn something from this guy!
Perfect
Its a great scanner for sure.

can the onx resin b printed with a stander resin 3d printer
standard 3d printer such as a elegoo printer
@@eylibroder-kd4if if you have the settings required yes. But its a resin that is locked to sprintray and these details are not released by the company.
what is the resin you appliaed by brush on splint?
The same resin used for the splint.
Hello. What about bite scanning? What is the method?
All done via the software. Standard methods - existing teeth, using an existing denture etc
Seems to me one of the biggest disadvantages of the trio's core is that its frames per second is 50% of that of the trio's three meaning. you would have to move your hand significantly slower and steadier to avoid distortion. Am I correct in that?
Nope. I barely feel the difference when using Core. I think it's just a way for the company to separate them. To me it feels almost exactly the same.
Is it compatible to a imac with apple silicon?
Yes, one of the few scanners that is
It’s also compatible with Mac now.
Awesome.
Have you tried the smile scan? (Woodpecker scanner)
It is a white-labeled AS260 scanner :). Good scanner made by Alliedstar and acquired by Straumann. Have a review coming in a month or so
@InstituteofDigitalDentistry looking forward for the video
hi mate! very interesting; some questions: about the production flow; 1st --> cad /3d model: how can you prepare it? using which software? I think it is very difficult to make the correct dental body using a parametric CAD; maybe you have to use non-parametric CAD, create STL file and transform it in STEP file? Please, I am very curious to know this info. Thank you!
Very easily using Medit Model Builder or exocad. Many scanners now come with software to enable creating models from a scan.
@ thank you very much indeed friend 😊

Was a total disappointment. Couldnt even scan on the table top a 3d printed model.
Too damn heavy
Tried it. Returning it.
What happened?
@@InstituteofDigitalDentistry Feel like I was beta testing a rushed to market product. Scanner has issues. I shouldn't have to pay for this BS.
@@davidm71 Thats a pity. I have been scanning with it for a while and will post some videos. Although not as easy as the PS1, for us its definitely working. I wonder if it was the connection that screwed it up.
@@InstituteofDigitalDentistry No I have good wifi internet speeds. Though not sure how fast is fast enough. Tested each room, we have three, and got these upload speeds 32mbps, 44 mbps, and 72 mbps. Maybe thats not fast enough. Will by a new wireless access point if I have to. You can confirm this scans edentulous fairly well?
@@davidm71 that is a pity. Must be something. Our unit is doing well esp for crown and bridge work
Battery charger must be wallounted as has no way to stand upright way it was designed
I have it on its side, not standing up. Makes it easier to put out the batteries and put them back in.
Pathetic soft tissue scanning. Hates missing teeth. Don't be an early adopter. Still has issues they need to work out!
No doubt things to sort out. I have used it a lot for edenutlous and will share cases soon. What issues did you have with gaps? Have you tried primescan 1? Same issue?
@@InstituteofDigitalDentistry Just failed to scan missing tooth areas as it would not re-acquire and get lost.

Yes, it is. C-tech implant compatible. I asked the company for you but for any queries simply ask your Shining3D local rep to confirm
Please let me know, has anyone tried the Aoralscan elite with the C-tech implant, is it suitable?
Whole procedure how long it take and can we make composite veneers with it also how long would that take for 10 units?
Design is the longest part. Anywhere between 30 min to 2 hours. Depending on how good you are. Or outsource the design Print = depends on printer, anywhere between 20 min to an hour Post-process = 20 min or there about Cure = depends on the cure box, around 20-30 min + staining and glazing etc if required.
