I buy medical examining table paper by the roll to make my patterns. I used to buy the rolls locally from the medical supply store, but now I just buy them through Amazon.
Simple, TY. ?? Im doing a scrubs top & need to resize waist only. big belly! how do i resize to adding inches only in waist area?
Beautiful Collection! 🥰🤩 I would have liked to reed the description signs for the dresses but the video went too fast for that.
Hi, looks easy the way you do it. Have you done the slash and spread the paper pattern. Would that work the same for someone like me that has not done either before. Thanks.🐱
What if the bust size is ok but only the waist needs to be increased ?
What if the bust size is ok but only the waist needs to be increased ?
Thank you!!!! I got super excited to do a pattern I had only to discover it only went to 18 (40inch bust) and I'm more of a 48" so I'm glad there's a way to fix it. Too bad it's gonna make my least favorite part of sewing that much more tedious lol
Make 2 sizes smaller than original.pattern.
It's very helpful for a beginner like me. Thank you so much!
super helpful thank you! I have an old pattern bought used sizes 6-10 and needed to go up to size 18
This tutorial is very useful. Thanks for sharing it. I surely will use these methods. I have a lot of old patterns waiting for the changes. 💯💯💯
Awesome! I'm so glad you found the video helpful!
@@OldTimePatterns YW. Me too 🥰
so helpful, thank you so much
That's wonderful! I'm so glad the video was helpful to you!
Thank you for such a great practical video. Really appreciate you getting straight to the point and being very clear. It's a saver
Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm so glad the video was helpful to you!
Your video was just what I was looking for. I have all my patterns I ever bought. Got away from sewing cloths because I wore scrubs for work. Now I am retired every thing is tee shirts. Have a favorite top I voted but of course I am not a 32 anymore. Does this work for pants also. Glad I found you.
Awesome! I'm so glad the video is helpful to you ! Yes, it works for pants too.
I love how simple you made this resizing sewing patterns video!! It's just what I needed to know for several older patterns I have!!! Thank you so so much ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome! I'm so glad the video was helpful to you!!
Size10 to size 22
Yes, it can be done!
Great video. Thanks!
Thank you! So glad you found it helpful!
Thank you so much for this video. I have to size up a pattern and didn't know how to do it properly. And I've saved your video so I can reference it while I work.
Thank you! So glad you found the video helpful!
3:07 News print paper Walmart
Thank you that is a very helpful explanation how to use an existing pattern and enlarge it ❤I liked how you used the exsisting measurements in the pattern sizes, I hadn’t thought to use that method :)
Thank you! I'm so glad you found the video helpful!
good info! Even for increase vintage pattern with out line to fit plus size (large plus size). Helps a lot!
Thank you very much! I'm so glad you found the video helpful!
How do you adjust the darts?
A side dart would follow the side seam in or out, and would go up or down the same distance as the shoulder seem. Hope this helps. I'm hoping to revise this video soon with more information. Thank you!
I "love" that your pillow in the intro is all preachy!
Just a simple reminder. Lol.
Thanks so much for that . I have a question . When you buy a multi size pattern they usually have multi sizes where there are darts . Is it not the case when doing your own resizing of a pattern ?
Not all patterns have darts. But when darts are included, they would be moved up or down the same distance as the shoulder is moved.
@@OldTimePatterns thank you
❤❤❤ your teaching technique
Thank you very much! I appreciate your kind words!
Hola seria posible poder traducir a español por fabor
I understand this explanation totally and completely ❤. Thank you so much. 😊
Awesome! I'm so glad the video was helpful to you!
When you say width by depth, do you mean straight across or measure with a tape from side to side and then front to back?
😅 I didn’t get the math……but then again I don’t know basic math……
I would highly recommend learning some basic math. Sewing would be difficult without that knowledge.
@@OldTimePatterns what basic math would recommend to work on?
@@FaithfullyMade247 Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions. All will be very useful. I believe you will be able to find some free courses online. Let me know if I can help further.
Thank you. I'll try looking in to that
That's very informative but the thing that is missing is how to reposition the markings for darts and other sewing points, as these things will shift about when the pattern is altered
Yes, I have been told that. I hope to have an updated video out soon. Thanks for your comment.
Thank you for explaining this way of resizing. I personally prefer sewing with nancy resizing. It's so much easier and less complicated. But it good to learn both ways.
Everybody learns differently. Thanks for your comment.
Very helpful. Thank you
Thank you! I'm so glad the video was helpful to you!
I have a 1960s pattern that I need to make bigger,it has a seam across the top of the bust,do I need to add to this seam ,or just leave it as it is?
I'm not quite sure what you are talking about. If you could send a picture to my email, I would be happy to help.
I seriously can't thank you enough for your videos, all this knowledge you're sharing with us 😭❤️ Thank you so so much!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad you find my videos helpful!
😮I bought a pattern dress thinking it was a size 4 to 6, and it turned out to be a 16,18,20! How can I resize this to a petite small.
Going small is just the opposite of what I show in this video. You would be drawing your new lines towards the inside, instead of the outside. Resizing for petite is a bit more complicated. I haven't done a video for that yet.
Thanks so much, you just made my life easier.
Awesome! I'm so glad to hear that!
Perfect just what I needed!
Awesome!! So glad!
Thanks
You're very welcome!
as a new sewist I unknowingly bought a couple of patterns that were too small for me. Now problem solved! BIG thankyou ❤❤❤
Awesome! So glad you found the video helpful!
same !!! so happy now , all is not lost 😍
Same here!
What do you do with the pleats when you size up.
Not quite sure what you are talking about. If you can send a picture to my email, I would be happy to help.
Thank you. I echo the feelings of ScarletKnightrose.
Yes, I agree! Thanks so much!
Great job here and very interesting.
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the video!
Brilliant video, thank you so much.
Thank you very much! I appreciate your kind words!
I look for the measurement chart but did not see it can you post it again please
Thanks for this video. It was very helpful. I’ll have to redo my bodice. But at least I know what to do this time.
Thank you! I'm so glad you found the video helpful!
Good tutorial. Thank you
Thank you! So glad you found the video helpful!
I love vintage patterns but I’m always just a size or two bigger and it kills me
I know what you mean!! So glad you found the video helpful!
I would add that once you get above size 12, they jump in 1/2” increments as a rule. Always check, by measuring the paper pattern, once enlarged, the circumstances you will end up with and then add ‘ease’ for movement. I also, might make up a prototype out of scrap fabric. Just front and back to try on.
Does the dart remain in the same place or is it moved over?
The dart would also be moved. Thanks for watching!
This really helped thank you.
That's wonderful! So glad the video was helpful!
