Tim, the recommendation for the extra ROPS knobs was GOLD!
I just bought the same winch. Would you mind sharing the mods you made to your quick hitch? Also have you had any issues using the quick hitch? FX85 and above manuals indicate the winches are not quick hitch compatible, but FX40 doesn't say that. Thanks for great video.
Hi there, the space between the two bottom three point pins are the right width for the quick hitch but I had to use the floating top link for the top one. It works well. I will make sure and put it in a video in the future. I hope that helps.
@@timschison52 Yes, I have the floating top link for my Quick Hitch. I'm assuming that I will need to drill a hole or modify it somehow and that I will have to bolt the floating top link so it does not float? Thank you for response and help.
Need some ass in that little tractor. Good ad for the winch not so much the Kubota.
Skip to 19 minutes to actually see the winch work.
I got the 2401 😊
I love the Wallenstein but that tactor is a toy and not good for what you are doing here
It's what I have, in life you have to piss with the cock you got!
Got mine last fall. Luv it !
Great little machines 👍
I read somewhere that front wheel spacers on some models make the front tires hit mower deck when turning , maybe not a problem on all models !
Great advice 👍
L2602 is the one for me
The L is a great series in the Kubota lineup.
Finally, someone who knows how to use a loader
Thank you very much!
Great Project - creative!
Thank you!
Why are you reviewing a B2601 when you have a L2501? Sure kind of the same, but can also be vastly different.
You are absolutely right, that is the point 👍
Thanks for the vid. Im seriously thinking of upgrading to the 2601 from the BX. I like the way you described your grapple "Back Saver 2000" no lie there, for us aging men anything you can do to not bend so much is a gift. Not to mention the grapple really shines picking up and pulling out brush pile. The very best attachment you can put on that machine if you aske me. Cheers from Washington State.
Thank you very much, I am glad that you are enjoying your tractor 👍
Good video! Do you have the 60” mower deck? How do you like the quality of cut of the belly mower? Thanks!
I have the 54 inch belly mower. The cut is very good with minimal scalping.
great info thanks
Thanks for watching!
Pretty impressive you getting your work done in those conditions. Great tractor and attachments too.
Thank you very much 👍
Both great tractors.I run a lot of KUBOTA equipment and had an L-2501 for 8 yrs.The L2501 is a no frills workhorse,no bells. The floor mats on the L-02 series will fit on the L-2501 if you want floor mats and protect the paint and quieter. You can't go wrong owning Kubota.
Absolutely!
I hav a B2601 and have put 700 hours on it and have never taken the front end loader off of it. To each their own. I use the bucket, a stump bucket, a grapple, forks, a box blade, a single plow, a front mounted trailer hitch, and a mid-mount mower and none of this requires the front end loader to be removed in my opinion.
At my house it is very tight for getting around with the mid mount mower so removing the loader is a must,,,unless I want to do a pile of trimming. Thanks for watching!
@@timschison52 I'm just the opposite. At tight places I use my Deere X390. I have a very deep and steep ditch by the highway and having the front end loader with the bucket on makes it feel much safer going up the ditch banks with the mid mount mower. In addition this lets me step over the mower deck to attach and it makes it much faster to attach and remove. Everyone's conditions. are different so we all have to. do what's best for our situation. Have a great day!
Merci pour vos vidéos, c'est très intéressant.
Merci!!
Nice video! Thanks.
Thanks for watching.
I bought a 6 ply R14 rear goodyear tire. 12-16.5 R14T GOODYEAR SST. They may have upgraded, but thanks for your comparisons.
Thank you for watching and the information.
Oh mei ma du mid deim Rasenmäher 🤣
I use it for cutting my grass too!!😜
According to the FTC, since at least 2021, Kubota has labeled thousands of those parts as Made in USA when, in fact, they were imported from overseas. In addition, the FTC says that the company moved some its manufacturing to locations outside the United States and yet continued to label those products as Made in USA.Jan 26, 2024
Thanks for watching and for the information.
I looked at a fx40 today and thought it wouldn’t be much good for me but after watching your video I’m quite impressed!
So far I am really liking it. 👍
I have a fx6500 wallenstine. operations - great footage. th-cam.com/video/f8UNYj9bIrw/w-d-xo.html video of it working. I have several other videos of it and things it couldn’t pull. Had it on my L4740 kubota. I sold the tractor and bought a L2502 so will be putting it on that come summer.
nice i have a fx 40 on a john Deere 3025 been a bit disappointed in it but your vid has impressed me . I am going to contact the factory and see what they can do for me mine would not even begun to winch that tree i would of had to cut it in half . The 3025 is about the same horse power but a 1000 pounds heavier then the B2601
Thanks for the comment! I had an issue with the rope and pulley system in the first day of using the winch, once I tightened it up, the winch pulled better. My rope stretched in the first few pulls, so I moved the stop knot up a few inches. I hope that helps.
Looks that this tiny tractor do the job but in my opinion not strong enough, it is better maybe to have a bigger model. Thank you for the review!
Thank you very much for the comment and watching! This little workhorse of a tractor spends most of its days within 50 feet of the house, I just wanted to demonstrate the capabilities of the unit. I have professional operated skidders for a living in the past, which would definitely better suit logging in the woods, but I would assume more people have compact tractors.
I just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for sharing all your years of experience with us!! I will be getting a B2601 within the next year and will be taking a lot of your advice.
I'm sure that you are going to love your B2601, and thank you very much for subscribing!
Great video and info.!!
Thank you!
L2501 owner here .. great for the 12 acre mountain property. 👍👍👍👍👍
They are a fantastic and very capable machine! 👍
That treadle pedal is the dealbreaker for me. I have an 05 B7800 30hp no emissions tractor I picked up used a few years ago. Great little tractor for a smaller property. Compares favorably with your 2601 in that regard. Installed a third function kit, has a QA bucket, 3 pt backhoe, snowplow, grapple, forks, tire chains, ballast box, etc. I don't know how I got along without it. Your videos are very informative and watchable. Thanks.
Sounds like you have a great little tractor too! I know what you mean about how handy they are. I'd never want to be without my tractor now myself.
Tim, this is "Realy Kool". Those are some Nice Big Long Logs. This Will shurly make some magnificent Lumber. Is is So great you are part of this wonderful endeavour. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio.
Thank you very much, I am glad you enjoyed the video!
I have a 2019 B2601. It's been a great tractor. Run a 5 ft bush hog and box blade with no issues. I would purchase again....perfect for my little 7 acre world.
My B2601 impresses me more everyday. I'm glad that you are enjoying yours!
Can you show the implements on the 3 point hitch in operation? Thanks for the side by side. Do either use the DEF ?
Great idea for a future video, and no neither of these tractors use any def or have a diesel particulate filter. They are old school mechanical diesels.
Thank you for sharing. I have a b2601. I’m interested in the winch and grapple.
You will be happy with both I'm sure.
Hi Tim Love your videos you do a good job. I agree with you. There are so many moving parts on that quick disconnect. I had the same problems and had to figure out how to make the adjustments on it that the service people didn't even know how to make. The problem is they won't sell it without that quick disconnect anymore.
Thank you very much, I am a believer in keeping things simple.
I’m surprised that gm hauls that trailer😁
It was mostly down hill 😁
I ordered rear wheel spacers from Bora. May do the fronts too. Have to see.
I think that the wheel spacers on the front would be a great idea.
@@timschison52 I may do the fronts too
What are "Front wheel spacers " for? The Front Axle is on a "pure floating piviot" ;each front wheel Carries the same EXACT weight, UNTILL it "Hits the stops" ( Usually by then the Tractor has Allready FLIPPED OVER)!! Just "maybe" if the front AXLE was Twelve Feet WIDE ;& mounted Solid...it might help!
Great point!!
New subscriber here. Wow maybe I don’t need a thirty five hp tractor. I wonder how it would handle a woodland mills stump grinder and or chipper ? Great video. Glad I found ya. Take care
Thank you very much!
Looks good. I love brisket, just did my first about a month ago on the BBQ. th-cam.com/video/GTvG9nqAeiQ/w-d-xo.html Yours is way juicier. My second attempt turned out more like yours. Damn I love brisket!
Thanks for video, live in eastern ont also. Do you think additional chains on the front tires would be useful. Usage case is very similar in addition to snow blowing.Would like to use in my bush in winter but have fear of getting stuck.
I think front chains would definitely help. The places these little tractors can go is very impressive even with just rear chains.
Is one better on slope than the other?
I couldn't say one is better than the other on slopes but I have wheel spacers on both. The L2501 is a bit wider but the B2601 is lower so they are about the same feel on a side hill. I hope that helps.
Great comparison! Exactly what I needed to see. Thx!
Thank you!
May I ask why you purchased your B01 after already having a L2501? I am thinking of going the opposite way (have a b series and thinking of replacing it with l2501) for more capability with not much bigger physical size thanks!
I'm guessing it is because he is running a mid mount mower as well.
I use the B2601 around my house primarily and the L2501 on the Acreage. The B2601 is very nimble and lighter on the lawn.
Excellent job, you must be loving the thumb.
I really appreciate the comment and the thumb. It is very convenient when I am working around brush.
Great video, sub'd.
Thank you!
I enjoy your input and knowledge. Those filled tires look like serious business especially after seeing how you tossed the trailer tire around like a rag doll! Stay safe and have a wonderful evening!
Thank you very much, the loaded tires are very deceiving. They definitely are heavier than they look.
FYI. Just a suggestion. When removing the grapple, loop (attach) the grapple hydraulic lines back on themselves. This will prevent any pressure buildup and will make the hook up process very easy.
Thank you very much, I have tried this and have had to use wrenches to disconnect them that way as well. When you hook them together they still make a closed loop and build pressure.
Thanks Tim for sharing your knowledge, experience, and expertise. Most of all, thank you for caring and helping folks. 😃
Thank you very much, I really appreciate the wonderful comment!
Hi Tim, just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to show us more about these tractors. I’m just about to buy one like yours and you have been a great help, they are not to common here in Southern Ireland 👍
Thank you, and thanks for watching!
