Excellent 👌
Looks delicious!😋
You're going to love them! 😊
I made it today with cauliflower, celery, fennel and parsnips. Delicious! Your video gave me the umf I needed to try it! Thank you!!
So happy to hear that this recipe worked out for you!!
Sprouting magic! Have you ever tried this, or is it your first sprouting adventure?
Haha. You might be noticing my excitement over the miracle of food!
Wonderful information. Thank you for your service and loving guidance!
Thank you so much!
I loved this when I made it but I didn't add the Arugula as a part of the meal. It was delicious but I am anxious to try it with the greens to make it lighter! Thanks!
So happy to hear that you made and enjoyed this dish. Next time you could try some cooked greens on the side! This gives you choices and a way to try it, without committing.
I just bought these same your seeds here 3:11 from the market but I really don't know whether to eat them like this or cook them
Thanks for the question. After sprouting I like to cook them. You can saute them with a bit of garlic, ginger, and/or spices, or you could boil them, or use them in a soup. They will cook much faster than dry beans.
Tahin and ceaser salad would go good
Absolutely! Give it a try!!
Measurements plz Thank you
There is a link in the description to the entire recipe. And here it is again: www.butteredveg.com/eggless-pumpkin-pie/
Wash them good to start with and drink that water after you soak them 8 to 12 hour. It is good for you. What do you think about that?
Hi there. I have never heard of drinking the soaking water before. I researched a little and there is no evidence of keeping soaking water, even in traditional cultures. When it comes to benefits of soaking, soaking beans and lentils increase the mineral absorption rate of the body. An enzyme called phytase is activated when you soak the dal for some time. Phytase helps in breaking down phytic acid and helps in binding calcium, iron and zinc. This makes the absorption process much easier. Soaking also activates a compound called amylase that breaks down complex starch in lentils and makes them easier to digest. The soaking process also removes the gas-causing compounds from the lentils. Most legumes contain complex oligosaccharides, which is a type of complex sugar responsible for bloating and gas. Post-soaking this complex sugar content is significantly reduced which further saves you from gaseous troubles.
@ thank you so much for taking your time to research that fact, but I saw a lot of video from food specialist. They advise to drink the soaking water of fenugreek and chickpeas. specially, the fenugreek they advised to wash it and soak it overnight and drink the water and some of them they say you can eat the seeds or discard it. but the soaking water. what mentally they are after
@@Bellatutu1927 Oh yes. Fenugreek is very medicinal and beneficial to drink the water. Chickpeas I just don't know. If it makes you feel good, then why not? Thanks for sharing.
It's a great program and I highly recommend it!
Thanks Jane! We're teaching right now, and will be teaching regularly next year, so encourage folks to reach out if interested :)
I think you may be wrong about how long to cook in the instant pot everything I read says 6-8 minutes!
Hi there! Thanks for the comment. We are both right!! When I said 30 minutes in the Instant Pot I meant from start to finish, since there is the heating up time, the ACTUAL cooking time, and the natural release cooling down time. My recipe suggests 10 minutes of cooking under pressure. I tend to like to cook lentils and beans well to ensure digestibility, but I'm sure that 6-8 minutes will also get them cooked!
👏👏👍🙏
Good 👌👏👍🙏
Excellent 👏👍🙏
I am Vata Kapha…so difficult to manage 😢
Yes. They are opposites right? We are in Vata season now, so you are pacifying Vata, but you want to be careful not to overdo it because of your Kapha. I would expect that using spices would be very supportive for you? Are you adept at adding herbs and spices to support your digestion?
This was fantastic - thank you!
You are so welcome. Thank you!
I make this and add one or two dates...
A true Vata type, and loving that sweetness. That's a good thing!
If you are using a store bough pastry, the box says to cook it first for 12 minutes, it that necessary for this? Just add it and bake it. I made it once and cooked the pastry some first. Thanks
Hi Wendy. Thanks for sharing your experience. How did you cook the pastry before adding the peaches? Are you still able to mold the pastry edges after baking?
Thank you Andrea...just wonderful. Did you video say 3 cups of water to the 1/3 cup of dhal and 1/3 cup rice?
Hi Anna. I do add that much water because I like my khichdi with that soupy texture. Test it out, then note your result. You could probably add less water, but then it would be a firmer result. This is personal preference!
@@EatLiveFeelBetter So supportive Andrea. Always appreciate your authenticity and transparency...so rare these days. Thank you ever so much.
Plant butter?
Why not? I don't have a lot of experience with plant butter as I enjoy good quality diary, so you might have more knowledge of how this substitution would work than me. Please let me know how it goes.
Very good new subscriber and support kare sister
Thank you, and Welcome :)
What about a pita vatha disbalance wich diet should follow the pita or the vatha?
Hi
Thanks for sharing ❤
sounds like you're being held at gunpoint
Excellent thank you! I like to make the beets and add them to my salads.
Perfect!
Hi
sounds good
Do you add the dried fruit to the oat mixture as you are roasting? I loved this recipe 😊I love the sweetness of the dates. I used dried apple, mulberry and raisins. Loved the combination of the spices.
I just replied to your other comment about the fruit and the cooking aspect. So glad you are enjoying this recipe, and making it your own! That's what Ayurvedic cooking is all about :)
My vata is so predominant, wow, this is really helpful.
So happy to hear that. Did you see my dosha quiz on GoodGutAyurveda.com ? If you fill that out, you can get more resources to balance your Vata.
Looks delicious 💖
Thanks Tina!
I think I added too much date water. I used 15 dates and covered them with water for about 1/2 hr. I blended the tahini and dates it was very creamy, but the granola was a bit wet. I had to toast for some time. Why do you add the dry fruit to the granola to toast in the oven? It seems it would dry out more, I’m used to adding dry fruit at the end, I cut up my dried fruit and added it after the dry granola toasted brown. I love the taste of the granola but next time I’ll add less dates and less water, 💦 there’s a science to it all. Thank you for a yummy recipe.
Hi Jeannie, I agree that the moisture content with the dates and water will vary. Lesson learned right! I think I add the dry fruit together with everyone else, because there is moisture there to balance it out, and this way everything gets cooked together. There is a principle in Ayurvedic cooking that when everything is cooked together there is a harmonizing effect, and the mind/body will take in as ONE food, rather than a collection of separate food items. This improves digestibility.
@@EatLiveFeelBetter Hello, so sorry I just saw this comment, I had to sign in to see it, that does make sense that the moisture will help hydrate the dry fruit, its a great recipe, and the spices give it an extra punch of flavours. Loved your podcast on tapping. Keep it all coming. thank you. 🌿
@@EatLiveFeelBetter Thanks Jeannie. I appreciate YOU 💕
Great.. I am suffering from Vata imbalance Trying to correct it (if its possible)
Good luck with it. Routine, routine, routine! Calm and stability to calm Vata.
@@EatLiveFeelBetter cheers! Yeah will dom
Love your skin MashaAllah
Thank you!
I make this very often because it’s delicious. I add cauliflower rice to thicken it. I eat it 3 days in a row.
I love the idea of adding cauliflower rice! Thanks for sharing :)
I put in some turmeric and pepper also and used rice milk. Thank you.
You are full of great ideas!! More spices are a good idea to support the digestion of the banana. The rice milk will make it more creamy and nutritive.
Sounds great!
Turned off by butter? NEVER!! have to have butter!
I love butter too!!
great synopsis of Ayurveda, and so beneficial for so many people who are experiencing so many health issues these days. and it's food based, not pills. <3
I appreciate that, and I agree. Food is medicine!
I also used detox enemas for a stronger detox.
i just saw churck norris mention mung beans a great food. I was wondering can I buy the dry sprouts and use them in cooking without sprouting them? Can I cook them in a pressure cooker and use in foods like I do with cooked beans? Thank you
Hi There. Chuck Norris - no way! According to Ayurveda, mung beans are one of the most easily digestible beans you can eat. Due to their small size you can cook them quickly without soaking, but soaking is even better, and sprouting is also even, even better. Here's a link to some of my recipes using mung beans. Good luck with it! www.butteredveg.com/?s=mung+beans
Wonderful - thank you!
Thank you too!
Thank you!
Thank you!
"PromoSM" 🙈
So thorough and beautifully put together.
So glad you found it helpful. I appreciate that!
What do you think about adding 5 or 10 strands of saffron
Absolutely. Saffron is tridoshic and a cooling blood mover, excellent for urinary health.
Andrea, I'm not sure about the taste of fennel in my vegetables. I'm going to try this recipe, as well as your French lentil recipe, (the video where i found you.) I love how detailed your instructions are. You're relaxing to watch and listen to. Thanks!
Thank you Elaine, Most people are not familiar with fennel bulb, unless they have a reason to try it. It isn't easy to incorporate new ingredients, but it is worth it! Fennel bulb has a really mild licorice flavor. If you buy some and have extra, I especially like it paired with tomato so that a tomato sauce or stew isn't so sour. -Andrea
Thanks, your instructions are simple, and your voice is nicely clear! Your recipe sounds so good. I'll be making it soon. 👋new subscriber
