God, I have so many memories with this game. I remember that one time I fell asleep on the couch listening to this, it was a very hot night, and I decided to take a break because I had been playing for several hours, and suddenly I fell asleep. I woke up and this was still playing, like a music box! This game is definitely a very nice memory from my childhood...

This game is Legendary.

All the collectable items.. cool weapons to find and craft.. the story and music.. every individual character to choose at the beginning.. Played it on PS3 and PS4 for a while and enjoyed every aspect of the tropical vibe. DI , DI Riptide and Dying Light are the best survival open-world zombie games ever made..

unlike the resort,moresby is way more dangerous because theres alot more zombies and also humans to kill you, going around Moresby on foot without proper equipment is a death sentence

Did they change the pause music with the main theme in definitive edition?

They changed the music in the definitive edition. I don't know why, but this old original music feels like if you're actually surviving the zombies apocalypse, you're completely alone, so lonely, and silence too. I really wish Techland bring the old music back

I have no idea why why they changed it in the definitive edition but I love the original one better

This theme had such a feeling of just dread behind it. I really enjoyed dead island 2 now that it came out after all these years, but I can't help but feel like it definitely doesn't compare to the darker undertones of the first game. I remember being 9 when this game first came out, and it'd take me forever to progress because I was just so scared to do anything the world was so unsettling and just had this dead quiet atmosphere. It really made it feel like zombies had really took over the whole island, and you and your small groups really were the last of the people there. I just remember sitting at the lifeguard station or the lighthouse for hours, too scared to go out and do anything. While playing this years later doesn't quite have that same effect over me, it still is such an eerie game to go through.

Someone should make the bass guitar tabs for this

i remember back on the original version on 360 when i was in middle school they had this pause music. now im 21 still playing it to this day but it sounds a little altered on the definitive edition on ps4. the nostalgia doesn’t hit the same. this game is still unmatched tho 🔥

Remember playing this almost non stop from 2015 to 2017 on xbox 360. Still sad that online is dead now. Used to be able to get a full lobby in seconds but now its an hour long wait for just one person. Have definitive edition aswell but my nostalgia and heart will always be with the original
