That’s not scientifically accurate😂 Real raptors were the size of turkeys. But yea, I see why it makes it a lot easier just to re-skin what the movie already had instead of making something new yourself. Nice.

Except raptors were much, much smaller. Like a large chicken. So this is not accurate at all.

I know dinosaurs in the novel are anything except scientifically accurate, but the looks of the raptors in this works much more for the horror atmosphere from the book.

I was about to say you still had it wrong until you hilariously overdubbed "Deinonychus" in place of "Velocripaptor." Truth be told, the Dromaeosaurs portrayed in the original movie were a bit too big to even be the Deinonychus, more like Dakotaraptor category. With that said, Dakotaraptor hadn't yet been discovered at the time that this movie was made, and obviously "Velociraptor" (translates to "Speedy Thief") has a much better sound to it than "Deinonychus" (translates to "Terrible Claw"), even though the latter has a far more sinister English translation from its Latin scientific name.

This is the perfect example of why being scientifically accurate isn’t always the best for movies.

Here's me prepared to critique the feathers on the Raptors but these are fairly well done. It's worth noting that the modern, waxy, flight feather didn't evolve for a while when they were around so their feathers should be quill-like or very fluffy. The look you have going here is actually not far off. Pretty good.

Ok, so quick thing about the name. Velociraptor antirrhopus was described by gregory paul in predatory dinosaurs of the world, 1988, as a taxonomic reclassification of deinonychus antirrhopus Paul contended that "Deinonychus" and "Velociraptor" were synonyms, and since "Velociraptor" was the older name, used that. his argument did not catch on. However, since Jurassic Park takes place in a separate but extremely similar universe, it's possible that it did catch on, and that's why Dr. Grant says that they dug up a "Velociraptor" rather than a "Deinonychus." Also, in the novel, Grant states that Deinonychus is actually Velociraptor on pages 128-9. “What do you know about Velociraptor?” Grant asked Tim. He was just making conversation. “It’s a small carnivore that hunted in packs, like Deinonychus,” Tim said. “That’s right,” Grant said, “although Deinonychus is now considered one of the velociraptors.” Another thing is that Jurassic world evolution is considered soft canon, so the use of deinonychus in the game is completely irrelevant to the movies and books. Checkmate liberals.
