im trying to make tabi mittens rn (with a forefinger and thumb) and keep failing. im making my own pattern because the only pattern i found for it on ravelry is for size L only and i have tiny hands 😭

I recently got the Ravit app which isn’t an app from the people who made Ravelry, it’s from an outside party I’m pretty sure, but it lets me access my ravelry through an app! I feel like it makes finding new patterns way easier and after you figure it out it’s really easy to use!

every time i end up not saying that i made the piece myself, i end up regretting it later LOL.. it also depends on how im feeling that day sometimes i find it awkward but if i do recognize a handmade piece on someone, i'll compliment and ask if they made it so they wouldn't feel awkward abt having to say they did!

I was immeadiately like oh I cant wait for her to say the pattern for those handwarmers lol! I hope you do make one! if you want you should share your ravelry- I love looking at peoples favorites and projects and such!

congrats on the wheel! I spun my first bit of yarn last week and gosh its so hard 🤣 I got the tiniest little scrunchie from it, but I have more to practise with. Imma keep soldiering !! can't wait to see what you get up to with your wheel. When i finished my scrunchie my partner said this is all you.. I have a hard time too saying they are my projects, for spun yarn you could say "Thanks! I made it from scratch 🤩"

I did this just a couple of months ago: I kept the black and white thread as well as the ones that match the fabric I have. Why did I have 2 spools of lime green thread? lol For yarn, I attached notes about what I will make with it and the magazine (I have a lot of patterns too😅) that goes with the yarn in a bag or box. The rest get to be decor until an answer comes up I guess. I even went through my books and will be leaving the ones I don't plan on reading again at my local free library.

currently taking a class in natural dyes-one of the reasons they are great is that they are safe to work with! so long as ur using different pots then cooking then there’s no concern. & maybe some gloves some colours really love staining ur hands

you could use the sheets that have sentimental value as a lining to a jacket, that way it hugs you every time you put it on ✨

I'm also so sentimental about yarn, my solutions was to crochet little flowers or squares of each yarn I was too attached to and stick them in my scrapbook. that was I have a small memory of the yarn and I can use up/sell the rest 😅 I thought I was the only one who gets like this! it's so hard to get rid of certain things ❤

This makes me want to live near a second hand craft store!! I think I would eventually only get stuff I'll actually use:)

if you want to naturally dye you should be fine in your kitchen! I recommend onion skins to start off with because you can get a strong and lasting colour without mordanting. you can also buy food grade allums (mordant) that will be safe to use in the kitchen. i would however just recommend buying a second hand pan to do your dyeing in if you are worried at all. I hope this helps!
