Chipsets are what is important. ATI 9600 is a lot better than this card but it requires timebase correction.

What they look like on the outside is unlikely to mean anything unfortunately, they can have 1 of at least 3 different chips inside regardless of the shell. I even bought one that specifically said which chip it used(as it should've been the best chip option), only to find that even then it didn't have that chip when I opened it. Personally I wouldn't use their driver CD at all, as driver CDs often contain viruses, and you don't need any driver software. They're basically always "UVC" capture cards, which means they conform to a "USB video device class" standard, so don't require drivers. This is why they also work on phones that support USB OTG. Often the best use for these cheap capture devices is actually for capturing audio only, if you have one which is genuinely stereo(some have supposed left & right connectors, but only capture audio in mono). They can be very good for capturing audio from a line level out from a cassette deck etc.

In your opinion, is it better than a simple HDMI to USB capture card? compatible with windows 10? Is the software possible to edit the video??? Nowadays I use a capture card and obs... but in obs it is not possible to edit and cut the video.... I'm transferring some 8mm tapes from camcorders to digital files... thx

I had a UVC model like that and a black Easycap and for some reason the UVC video was bright but grainy even through two different Honestech versions. The same went for OBS... just bad guts I guess. On another note, I have several incarnations of Magix and I find that software does an excellent job of capturing video.

nice one man, for the record JVC tapes don't play on the newer adapters, this is one way of fixing it.

I bought a second-hand Ezcap284, the seller said he had used it only once and it came with all the accessories. However, when I turn it on, only the blue light of the power turns on, it does not answer the commands of the remote control or the RECORD button even with the pendrive placed and formatted in FAT32... And Windows doesn’t recognize it so I can try to test it on OBS and doesn’t let me install the drivers. Seeing your video I was sure that the product came with flaws, and I will ask for a refund. Next time I will try to buy another Ezcap in a new state.

Hello! Thanks for showing the quality of the vdeo transfer. Question, please. Do they sell any device that converts Hi8 video to digital via Firewire? (without having to install an extra card in the computer). My old Camcorder, Sony DCR-TRV330 has a firewire output. A device that has a the proper furewure connector plus a card which goes to a computer (Windows 11) via USB would be perfect. Thanks a lot!

Composite resolution 720x576 @25fps is exactly the same as an easycap with the old UTV007 which is dirt cheap at about 15usd

Don't put them anywhere near speakers or hard drives or motors or phone speakers. Magnetic media only exists in your credit card and just barely now days. Companies stopped considering magnetic shielding years ago. Magnetic things are all around hiding...

Eu comprei no Brasil, e usando o pinnacle tenho problema de sincronização com áudio, usei o OBS e funcionou, mas não gostei Hoje estou com Blackmagic intensity shuttle, e funcionou muito melhor em qualidade de imagem e áudio, com o VMIX e OBS, captura em MP4, AVI, VMIX AVI.

Actually, you can replace the tape without cutting it. There is a little plug on the ring which is holding the tape at the end, and you can just unplug it and insert new tape.
