Are you an adult educator interested in using VR to support your classes? I'm using Mozilla Hubs to host support sessions for my college classes this term - here is a walk-through of how I set it up and how I'm using "Virtual Reality" spaces to support student success. Far from an expert - but I'm learning!!

Thank you professor for making this video. It helped me so much.
Thank you for this very useful video!
With an example is less confusing. Queue, Container, etc without practical data to follow along😅 Thank you!
Thank you for this very useful video!
Thank you for this very useful video!
Thank you!!
Thank You Sir.
Excellent Videos.Thank you for sharing.
how to add a custom shape for a FlowItem to the Library or Template file. Would like to avoid loading every time a new shape for the FlowItem
Thank you so much... 😊
im using flexsim 24 and slot.Type? == item.first.Type? does not work , even slot.Type? == item.Type? not working
Thank you so much Professor Nelson. I really appreciate your efforts; and this video and other related to Jaamsim are so helpful for me in my dissertation. Thanks a lot... :)
i have subscribed your content and waiting for next video, thanks
Thank you, Professor Nelson. I was looking for the quick overview of the tool and I pretty much practiced with your tutorial and learned quite a bit.
I really like and appreciate your tutorials. keep it up :)
Great 👍
Thank you for the video, it was very simple and easy to follow.
Could you make the files of your videos available? thx.
did he post it by any chance?
tqvm prof
Hello Professor Nelson, Good to know you are still producing good educated students on Industry 4.0 advanced. Wishing you well. Regards from Africa.
Hello and thank you! Hope all is well is Africa!
@professorbnelson3592 Everything is fine, and well.
Thank you. Trying to work on AI with ChatGPT.
Hi professor, is it possible to set a "add to" to be full, and if it is full the entity goes to another location (for exemple entity sink)?
Thank you professor! It has been very useful.
Thank you for your videos. In addition to the questions added to my comment for your other video, it would be interesting to know whether I can develop custom logic blocks with defined interfaces for reuse in Jaamsim? You indicate this with your browm square frames in your video. For example, a reusable block that contains two conveyors that forward material to an assembly operation, with a third conveyor facilitating material flow towards the "exit". This custom block would have two input interfaces, for the two conveyors. The block would have one exit interface, for the output conveyor and material flow. Thank you in advance. Kind regards, Linnart Felkl
Professor Nelson, thank you for this video. If I see this correctly, then this is a push-based production control, and there is only one product. Buffers are emptied based on a FIFO logic. Could you also implement something like the following with Jaamsim? - Pull controls instead of push controls - Inventory controls based on more complex rules than simply FIFO (e.g. random part retrieval) - What if I have 100 product group - can I manage this variance and I want to manage inventory and prioritize between product groups and dependend part families - Instead of specifying a source that generates jobs with a random distribution or fixed intervals, I want to specify some sort of production schedule and execute it with the simulation Many thanks in advance. Kind regards Linnart Felkl
As a newcomer to JAAMSIM thank you for your tutorial. Using the latest version of JAAMSIM I have a problem to connect in a simple model as yours 3 objects with the link (as shown in your model the last 3 objects). The queue(FG) does not connect to the EntityConveyor. What is the right forum to ask these simple question?
How can I create a condition so that my component does not leave server 1 via the convayer towards server 2 until server 2 is free again? Thank you very much!!!
I think of this like a Kanban signal. You can build the signal with an Expression Threshold that looks at the downstream Server 2 and opens when the server is free (I usually base it on the que length, but something like [Server2].State="Idle" might work. (not sure if I have the right syntax here). When you run the model, the expression threshold should alternate between open/closed and show red/green status. Now you can add this threshold item in the Threshold tab of Server1. See 3.3.2 in the Jaamsim manual for an example. Hope that helps!
@@professorbnelson3592 thank you very much! The Expression Threshold was a very good hint. I messed a bit around and it works with "'[Server_x].NumberInProgress < 1'"
@@Luke-ew9mk Awesome. There are so many features tucked away in this program -- I'm only scratching the surface myself.
thanks, apply in mining processes.
Thank you a lot. This video is very useful

Gracias por este aporte.
Hello Sir, I want to apply for program which is in waitlist so what can I do for Conestoga?
Thank you. Can the times/durations be drawn randomly from a distribution to better simulate real-world behavior?
Yes - Jaamsim includes several distribution functions to be able to model real-world timing of events - product arrivals, etc.
Wow, this is impressive. I love your avatar! Good job everyone!
Have a good endeavour in the future technological revolution of Industry & Quality 4.0. Hopefully will share, if I make it there.
Awesome. Thanks Professor for your input and clarification on the avatar side. Will be watching the future from your information on presentations through TH-cam.. Salutations. Cheers.
Very well presented and especially your own avatar as 'Professor Nelson' speaker, made from it seems like Google Teachable Machine or some other software. Awesome. This shows how your knowledge sharing and tutorial presentations have actually effected the students and learners and very soon the global population. Very well done and explained. Better than cool - Deep Ice Freeze. Salutations. This course given by Conestoga College and taught by Professor Nelson is actually 'A key to success' for the future. This is the continuation of "Industry & Quality 4.0". Keep up the standards and knowledge contribution.
I was actually in a Virtual Reality room, wearing a (Quest 2) VR headset. The headset has 4 front facing cameras that pick up on my hand movements and a microphone that hears my voice and moves the avatars lips. How crazy is that! *This* is going to be the future of on-line interactions!
That's so cool 🤩

Hello Professor, I’m a digital marketing specialist who’s very enthusiastic about AI and IoT and like staying current on the topics. Your videos are amazing. It’s really admirable how you always show projects through from conception to completion. Looking forward to more content on this. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you. Hoping to build one similar using Value Stream Mapping. Just new for me, am learning. Amazing Industrial 4.0. Wow.
Very informative. Very intellectual and good tutorial. Good for a learner. Excellent.
Hello professor, I am currently struggling with a simulation where I need three parallel branches. I was fine with two branches but the simulation seems to be ignoring my third. If you would be so kind as to assist me on this matter, please contact me at: ajj.basson@gmail.com
This is an excellent JaamSim introduction by Prof Nelson which provides a basic overview and a launching point for creating your own simulation models. Prof Nelson does such a great job of walking the user through each step and building confidence along the way. His method encourages exploration and discovery. I really appreciated the time and effort put into this video.
Hi sir... I'm Sheldin from India I'd like to apply at Connestoga for quality assurance program and I would like to know more about the course and I have some queries about the work permit sir, please help!
Hello Sheldin. Conestoga has some excellent programs. The PQE and QAMM make a good 2-yr package. The college website has a course list for both of these that explains what courses you would take. There are also many many international students I'm sure you could reach out to that have graduated to ask about their experience. Good luck in your applications!
Thank you Prof. Nelson for this content. :)
Thank you for this great overview, Prof. Nelson! I appreciate your guidance on implementation - e.g. notes on using Jaamsim successfully with students within a 2hr lab period. The implications for supply chain visualization, maybe some digital twinning are very clear with Flexsim too. Thanks again!
