Must you have an experience in Engr before going for the gas engr, I'm a nurse for 10yrs now but I want to switch to gas engr or still do both intsrmittently, what do i advise on tbat
Hey, I have a Q. When I turn on the taps to pressure the boiler system I can hear water flowing good until it reaches about 1 bar then no more ? Is this a water feed issue or something with the boiler? Maybe PRV or vessel ? Appreciate your reply. There’s no leaks by the way. It’s is an alpha cd28c. Yours jack of all trades master of none Phil 😁
@@philipgordon7058 the pressure relive value or expansion vessel can cause the pressure to behave like this.
Thanks, well nothing drips out of the pipe so I’m thinking not PRV. Just can’t phathom how the expansion vessel would limit the water pressure. Fortunately it’s above a bar so I’ll worry about it if it ever drops.
thank you so much its great lessen
I watched this 4 years ago I took a risk and now it paid off after doing a fast-track course I have now got a job as a gas engineer
Thanks Roy. Your an ocean of Knowledge in the industry.
hi guys any news on the part time weekend courses . atb keep up the good work.
What a superb opportunity for the lucky six and kudos to you for facilitating their journey 👍
I'm very interested but work full time continental shifts days and nights some weeks work 5 days then 5 days off other weeks 6 days 2 days off so not really sure if I fit the criteria 😢
Whatever happened to this guy would be interesting to hear?
Thank you for what you are doing!
I see you mentuined the hydrogen. Im 28 now, if youre saying hydrogen one day will replace the gas is it still worth learning the trade in your opinon. Obviously no one wants to enter a career with timer on it.
Hi Brilliant, but can’t find them on website

Some good training on a plate. Thanks
Cool, this is very comprehensive. Keep them coming
Hi why is that the average age of a gas engineer ?
This is the most concise/ well edited how to service vid on yt. Thanks
Thanks! We really appreciate the feedback.
Is it fine to put the boiler in high fire by just running the hot tap? Is this what is stated in MI? Is there a difference between max mode/high fire and just running the tap? Thanks Edit: commented too early you do put it in max mode my bad. Thanks
Good video. 👍
Thanks Allen 👍
Do w learn how to brazw on an f gas course? I'm a heating engineer so can solder (though prefer pressfit 😂).
Great video
Just signed up for my new entrants course and looking forward to running my own business soon
Can you do range rating for a system boiler
Nice one mate and thanks for your video really helpful ❤👌🏼👍🏼
What an absolute con..... would you trust someone to work in your property after a 6 month course that was based in a classroom and requires some photos of you pretending to do some work on site?? What they don't tell you is that when you come out.... no one will employ you. Because no one is that stupid. Without any experience you won't get a job!!!!!! So you can work for yourself????? Enjoy the legal battles when you it all goes wrong because you flooded some poor old lady's house out because they taught you how to connect a cooker. But not drain a system down properly. There is a reason it takes 4 years the traditional way...... on site with experienced engineers. These courses do nothing but teach you how to pass a test. When in reality it's hands on experience that you need. When I did an apprenticeship it was 1 day a week at college and 4 days on site...... it was the 4 days where you really learnt and practiced your craft. Just read real reviews online of people that have done this training. Or from BPEC, the awarding body for apprenticeships. Or from anyone that isn't affiliated with these centres. Unsuspecting victims come out with a certificate that cost a fortune and no job what so ever. Just try and get a gas job online........ they will all give a minimum term of experience required....... These centres should be ashamed of themselves. They are diluting the industry with cowboys that don't have a clue. Its already bad enough and gas safe is there to protect customers. Anyone that goes on these courses and thinks and think they can walk out with a fancy new certificate and earn £50k a year are delusional.
My maths is soo bad and I’m struggling with it.. I wasn’t expecting that..
Do you have courses in London?
The opportunity to what lol?
I think he means the opportunities for work are vast
Unfortunately your ship sailed years ago .
Hi have a Worcester bosh 4000 My property has 9 radiators what range should it be set too
hi mate i m doing course at viva ,i need more information about portfolio requirements ,can i get ur contact number please
Is it part of the f gas course at Viva training ? Very interesting, thanks for sharing the knowledge 👍
Good night 😂
They try to justify it, but the vast majority are a liability .they teach you to pass ccn1. that's it. then they can go out and charge the unsuspecting public £££ for absolutly limited knowledge .. its a money spinner nothing more nothing less. good luck to them, but be honest.
Totally agree it’s just for the £££ can’t condense years into weeks for a course
So tell me how someone in there 30-40s with family and responsibilities is to learn a new career in a trade ? Please tell me ? Your comment is based on ignorance. I know people, especially one of my best mates, re trained to be a gas engineer on one of these courses about 11years ago and has done really well for himself. Once these guys pass they are encouraged to go and get some work experience with a company. It certainly won’t be full pay but will be enough to get by and most importantly learn.
@@TBO2488no mate you need to go to collage for 4 year to learn the basics then get work experience for another 4 year to say your an gas engineer anybody can pay for a weeks course 🫠
I wonder why some people ask you to request below... but never answer...?
Very informative nice vid
So disagree with these courses Thinks it another fukin money spinner 4 years to train 30 yrs ago. Madness
Thanks
Okay but does this then effect the heat output? So lets say i range rate it down to 50% will this effect the temperature or how quick it gets to the desired temperature. Also if i were to range rate it to 50% and set the heating at max temperature would this be better?
So the ratings were set for homes with near no heat retention. I have now set mine to 60% and I'll see if the rooms stay as warm and do they get to that stage. Many smart thermostats show you how warm a zone gets or where the zone thermostat is.
How long dos take the heating engineer course,,,,? I am HVAC engineer,,,myself
The course runs across a 26 weeks period, with 28 days in centre or less with some online learning. And some time building your portfolio with gas engineers in the field. If you would like more information please email your contact details to hello@vivatraining.co.uk and we will be happy to talk you through how it works in more details. 👍
@@vivatrainingUK that great 👍… I will
Thanks you much appreciate
Great podcast, and great place to learn I passed my gas about 3 months ago with viva,Roy and Pete know there stuff, definitely be back to learn more
how long did it take for you to learn? im a complete beginner and thinking about going into the trade
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Only 600%? No i don't believe it. I want a heatpump that gives me 800Watt for every Watt i put in.
NO
I see comments asking how much we earn. In my personal experience................... Self employed in Central London 300 to 1800 a day. Outskirts of London 200 to 600 a day The further up North you go the less you get. You need to live in a densely populated city to maximise income. If you're self employed you need sales, marketing and negotiation skills as well as all the gas skills. Also need electrical and paperwork skills I came out of corporate city jobs after 18 years and took a year out to intensively learn all of this starting with a fast track course. It worked for me, but it wont work for everyone.
I'm 74, still GSR and do odd bits to keep sane. Went self employed in 1972, had an ex GPO moggy van. 1st combi was a Vaillant, no approved filling loops and so far advanced at the time. Come 1991 and mandatory Corgi registration was a wake up call knowledge wise! ACOPS in 1998 and ACS in 2003 brought the industry to where we are today! In the early days it was an era looking back makes shudder at some of the the stuff I did in my ignorance!
1. Boring 2. Boring 3. Destroy ing the planet
I guess you don't like gas engineering.
What an absolute whopper...
Womp womp
Range rate but you never talk about flow rate
🤘😎🤘 Didn’t I do one of these? 😂😂😂😂😂😂great video guys 👍👍
