I bought speakers for my first car at Kmart !! 😋
Blue light special isle 7
This is what you listen to while dusting in your 1975-era split-level house which is still decorated with dark Mediterranean style furniture, green shag carpeting, and orange formica countertops.
Wow. You try to drop a personal Kmart employment memory in here, and the comment gets deleted. Merry Christmas to you too, Scrooge
Tell it again. To me specifically, if you have to. K-Mart is incredibly important to me
If only we could bring this music back, it would make a huge difference. Piped-in-music is sorely missed. The silence is overwhelming. 🎵🎵
Kmart was such a nice store in the 70's. I remember the bluelight specials, always open grille, clearance section, late christmas hours. They seemed to have gone downhill after the remodel to the new image in 1990. I'd take Kmart over any of the choices we have today.
Remember those suckers they sold in a long, plastic group, maybe 2 dozen or so that would be tantalizingly hanging by the cashiers? I never successfully got those, but it wasn’t from a lack of effort.
Playing this music everywhere would change the world overnight.
It says a lot about KMart that the classy actress Jaclyn Smith debuted her personal clothing line, then later home furnishings in this store!! 👏 💃
The subs and plushies!
I loved those subs!
This music is great. I remember my parents would sometimes get a few things there but never a huge amount. Toothpaste and the yearly Christmas trees in the front lot I remember every year. Their shoe's and clothes were trash. I remember the Icees and the popcorn. My parents would never buy those for me though. They said we have that stuff at home. which we did with koolaide and a popcorn popper. Then you would see the massive line for layaway people which were always people who were the ones buying the icess and popcorn for their kids. Then you go outside in front of Kmart and you see the same kids with their parents pumping quarters into the coin operated rides like the horse and merry go round. I would never get to do those either. Later I realized my parents opted to save those pennies and quarters for things like Disneyland trips instead. Made me realize habits of those on welfare Vs those that saved played a roll for me later in life as an example. Kids on welfare who got their shiny new bikes on Christmas morning through process of layaway sometimes seemed lucky to me. Yet I realized everything was not as it seemed. My father went to a local guy who repaired quality bikes and sold them for pennies on the dollar is where I got mine. Turns out a used Mongoose BMX was indeed not as shiny as the new junker's from Kmart, but I still had mine in use after 3 years and not fall apart and it was what my parents could afford.
Why do you assume they were on welfare just because they put things on layaway? Their clothes and shoes were not trash. How would you know if your family didn't buy stuff from there?
You didnt pay attention in school did you?
I loved k mart for so many reasons As a kid my mom and grandma would always buy me a pop corn and slushy when we went there. Also it’s the reason my parents could afford a Christmas with lay away and on Christmas Eve my parents would take us there to get a pair of pajamas to wear that night for the arrival of Santa. We didn’t get much as kids but we didn’t care we were truly thankful just to get anything on Christmas morning. One of my proudest moments was about 25 years later I went back to that same Kmart that my parents went to and paid down there layaways for us and paid off 22,000 in layaways for family’s that had cloths and toys in there layaways around Christmas time. as this kid that grew up with nothing beat the odds and started a small successful business and wanted to help someone in need that year give there children a good Christmas and also let the parents get a little break and put there money to use in other areas. I know richer people have done much bigger things but I was so proud to give what I could to help brighten someone’s Christmas and try to always give back every year to family’s in need.

Remember the blue light special?
Grew up going to Kmart. Inexpensive durable goods and loved their popcorn and submarine sandwiches. Got many a bargain with their Blue Light Specials. Yeah they really were better days than we have now.
Makes me wish i was walking the iles of Kmart browsing trying on new shoes as a kid😢
A result of the commie infiltration of America...good old Joe McCarthy tried....!!!
So relaxing
BLESSED VINTAGE CHRISTMAS SEASON TO ALL! Praised Be Jesus Christ Forever Amen!!! Thank you!❤🌹❤🌹❤🌹❤🌹❤🌹❤🌹❤🦋
Another Christmas comes to an end. Christmas is forever changed since both of my parents are gone. I have no family of my own but Kmart was a big part of my childhood memories. My mom and dad were wonderful parents that made Christmas magical!
Very nice sentiment. It is definitely different when parents are gone.
Well look my friend, I'll be your family and who knows maybe next Christmas we can hang out ✌️
@@emmel4fun yes i know it well, mine are gone also..

Awesome! So cheery ❤
I have not shopped at shithole Walmart since 2007. Feels great not to be part of it.

My ex said “You can practically hear the ice clinking in his lowball glass” of the Dean Martin songs, lol. Good memories. 🫀🤗❤️🔥🌎♾️🕉️Love to your crystaline 🧬💎inner knowing.

is the still from Ypsilanti, MI? I'm sure a lot of folks are gonna think this looks like THIER hometown store, but seriously is this Ypsi?
My understanding was it's Garden City, MI winter of 1974
@@jimmyrenomusic oh weird.... that's 32 min away 🤣
I definitely thought it was the one I grew up with. Identical outside set up. We always had December/Christmas snow back then too.
@@thehollyberry7975 ha, does that happen to be Ypsilanti or Garden City??
Clever video 🤗 Happy Holidays everyone 🔔☃️
This video has become an annual holiday tradition. The truck in the parking lot looks like my dad's old pick-up. Peace.
I felt so bad when it closed. I had been to their headquarters in Troy, Mi. A beautiful building. Loved their subs in earlier years. I used to shop at the one in Waterford. It was packed all the time. They had nice clothes and a lovely Christmas section. I still have nice Christmas stuff from there.
Same at the Waterford store ❤
I remember when it was in Midfield Alabama.
This was 37 years ago.
I like the wow and flutter
Great album
13:24 The entity has breached containment.
As soon as we walked in , my mom would buy me a slushee and a small popcorn. I always thought she was being nice. I think she was shutting me up till she was done.
THAT ETHEREAL VOICE intones, " ... and thanks for shopping at K MART!"
Hate to have to work in Section 3
A time when the shopping carts rolled perfect and no rif raf

Man those Babes in Toyland symphonic scores unlocked a core memory in me...
I meant their lay away was so helpful and convenient. ❤

I miss Kmart they would stay open late on Xmas Eve so you could do last minute shopping. Their law away was so helpful to many families.
Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas 🎁🎄❤
