@@KandiMan You went all out. My thing is with Cel Light/Check Engine light on those decats and also too much volume will make my wife and neighbors haters. I just want to get some high pitch sound. Difficult shopping here. Thanks for your reply!

​@@johnnyg8206 Thanks. There's no way around it; there will be neighbors who will be not be happy with the setup. Going valved is the only way to mitigate that problem. The CEL is essentially cosmetic and can be "solved" with a tune so you don't have to look at it (can also add a bit of power and dial in the pops and burbles). For me, the sound and the fun factor it brings were worth the hassle. I don't think I would've owned an 458 if the only option was the stock sound. Additionally, having heard my buddy's extreme setup years ago, I couldn't settle for anything less than the goosebump-inducing shriek and volume shown here. I tried numerous setups to get to this result.

Yep, I’ve actually had multiple M2 Competition in both DCT and 6MT. The M4 is a much more “complete” car, with much better interior and tech (like heads up display), a far more compliant suspension for day-to-day driving, and of course more power. It’s also a bigger car with a longer wheelbase and has lighter steering, which may change the subjective driving feel equation for you. The M2 Comp may feel more sporty, agile, and focused than the G82, despite the fact that the G82 is faster than the M2 Comp at practically every track by a pretty significant margin. I drove my old M2 Comp to my G82 test drive and, after sampling the M4’s huge cornering performance, decided to trade up. It was an easy decision for me, actually - the greater performance combined with the much more luxurious/comfortable/complete nature of the G82 package was exactly what I was looking for. If you don’t care as much about all of the extras and are OK with the spartan 2-Series amenities, you can probably save the money. Also, I think it’s more likely that the M2 Competition will become a classic, like the E46 M3. Small BMW performance coupes always do very well in the long run.

S-Line is the loudest and most extreme. Novitec is ~5% less loud, but more refined and consistent throughout the rev range. My S-Line had a weird “warble-y” drone at about 2500RPM. Important - get the Novitec test pipes for an amazing, aggressive sound during deceleration. 👍🏾🏎

@@KandiMan wow that's funny.. i ordered with the interior and exterior carbon package, plus added the m performance front splitter. What color brakes you get, i got the blue?

I skipped the CF exterior, CCBs, and CF buckets. I got everything else. Red calipers, too. I’m excited to get it.

@@KandiMan i skipped the carbon buckets for the AC seats haha.. but I already have the carbon backs from IND and all the painted roundels, hood, trunk, and floating center caps to delete the chrome ring. Congrats. I'm all ordering parts, and don't even have the car yet haha. Got the Burger spacers 12mm squared too.

Nice - thinking about doing exhaust (catless downpipes and single midpipe) with the incoming one. It’s an xDrive, too.

Great question! I moved to a place not quite as sunny as California and came here for work. The car gave me goosebumps all the way until the last day; I definitely didn’t sell it because of anything relating to the car itself. I miss it! 🏎🔥

Thank you! The G82 actually replaces my M2 Competition. I loved the M2 - the great thing about the new M4 is that it steers and handles like a big M2 but has all the creature comforts of a 4-series car (HUD, good interior, newest infotainment, etc). The G82 is a perfect fun daily. I sold the 458 a while ago; stepping away from exotics for a little while.

@@KandiMan I remember you saying you like the S-line > novitec > ipe in that order. Which one was better bang for buck? The novetic + fabspeed headers is the most expansive one i believe around 17k, ipe full setup is 12-13K, im not sure about s-line but are my numbers close? Is there a reason why the ipe didnt give you goosebumps? I keep watching videos between the two (ipe and novitec) and cant decide. Is it the growl in the novitec that gives you the goosebumps while the ipe is just more high pitch but less growling? Idk if i can do the s-line setup as it sounds way too loud lol. I was looking at brianzuks video on the black 458 with novitec + fabspeed setup, it looked exactly like your setup in the cali tunnel videos.

@@goodreason6462 Great ear! I was there for that very BrianZuk video several years ago, rode in the car, and bought his full iPE setup a couple of years later when I got my own 458. The back box is iPE Evolution; iPE F1 is different and more aggressive. I immediately knew it wasn’t enough for me. Both Novitec and S-Line induced goosebumps, mainly because of the Novitec test pipes that made off-throttle sound insane. S-Line is louder and more extreme, while Novitec is ever so slightly quieter and less raucous. It’s a small difference that you’d only tell spending time with each back to back. I was looking for the absolute top sound, so when I heard Brent’s car, I was no longer satisfied with the Novitec box (although it’s an excellent exhaust!). S-Line is actually the cheapest back box of all of them (half the price of Novitec). Cost didn’t play a factor at all in my decision making, but that was a nice bonus. If I get another 458, I may experiment with Brilliant. Right now, my ideal is still Fabspeed headers, Novitec test pipes, and S-Line exhaust. BTW, I personally don’t perceive the iPE as higher pitch.

Can't agree more. I love older M cars, and i love this one as well. This one looks much more aggressive than older bimmers.
