First TH-cam added Recommended, so I thought it's a EV plane. But I found your efforts were awesome, hand made yourself. Thanks for inspiring others, try try try until things get done. Fantastic work 👏 👍
Nice video Simon. A long way from the roll we did in mine that time. Remember when I said "wrist" the down elevator when get inverted? That was so fun and funny too!!!
@@simonhitchen5649 I certainly will. just on the empennage awaiting wings and fuse to crate. Deposited on a new lycoming IO-360 M1b before the price rise in two weeks. Ill stay VFR probably with a garmin g3x...main job is flying an Airbus so just want to fly it on nice days VFR. hope i can build it in three years....gulp....
@@glennevans9416 I started VFR and flew it that way for 3 years. I recently upgraded it all to IFR and am really pleased that I did so. I only wish I had itbuilt it IFR initially. Im an A350 skipper and love the Airbus. Best of luck with the build!,
@@simonhitchen5649 I’m a 320 skipper…let’s say I’m getting used to the bus after 20 years of Boeing….maybe two more years and left seat 787 hopefully….then I can get back to the US to buy more goodies for it. Can I ask what prop and engine combo you have?
Beautiful footage Simon! This wing-mounted agle captures the RV and aerobatics perfectly. Aerobatics are really the best fun you can have, even on short flights
greased it! I'd like to say my RV6 landings were all like that... but I'd be lying... but practice practice practice.... th-cam.com/video/q46Ifgu7ry8/w-d-xo.html
Hi Simon, one more question please. Have you got the wooden Gear Leg Stiffeners installed? I did not notice much vibration / shimmy during the landing roll, whereas I suffer a lot from this on my RV-7 on hard runways. Thanks Chris.
Hi Simon, Thanks for this great video. I love the wheeler landing! I've only done 3 pointers in my RV-7 so far. BTW how did you attach the camera to get such an amazing view?
Hi Jordan, very simple set up. Dynon Skyview in the centre with a Garmin GTR-200 comm radio And GTX-327 transponder beneath and an IPad Pro running ForeFlight. Good solid VFR DAY, NIGHT.
Thanks for the very nice video. No background music, just the sound of the engine, which is as it should be IMO. I find it useful for my own first flight in my RV-7 (tailwheel also not a -7A). Good to base expectations of when the tail should lift to flight level, and how long to tail drop on rollout.
Stunning beautiful RV 7 and first flight. I too have been building for many years and look forward to this event. Congratulations, your video has inspired me!
Beautiful airplane!!

Hi Simon. Im Glenn. Im building an RV 7 down under in New Zealand. This was an awe inspiring video I watched twice....Love it.
Thanks Glenn, keep on building my friend. I finished the 7 four years ago, upgraded it to IFR capable a year ago and love flying it. It’s a blast.

That landing was so perfect I'm jealous.
Super Congrats! Beautiful plane!
Hey Simon. I'm keen to know how you mounted your camera for this view. Slick landing - you've raised the bar very high! ;)

The landing was epic!!!
Beautifully captured!
Absolutely beautiful landing! Love the camera angle too!
This video was amazing! Great job.
Love that you wore the helmet for the first flight... Many guys don't.
Looks great!
What is in your avionics set-up, if you don't mind me asking? I love the look of your configuration.

@@simonhitchen5649 Awesome! Thanks for the reply. Have you been happy with the set-up? Anything you wish you had gotten, or had not gotten?
That was boring and uneventful as it should be. Nice wheel Landing. I prefer tail low three-pointer are almost three point.
ipad for flight instruments / Rebooting to install updates in 30 seconds!
I wonder what the app is?
Well captured!
