Theres a total of 4 persona 3 movies, Spring of Birth, Midsummer Knight's Dream (Where the clips end on), Falling Down and Winter of Rebirth. They're all good watches, but only available in English subs. They're all on youtube, so it's pretty easy to set like, 7 hours aside to watch them all in bulk. It's probably the second best persona anime, to the original Persona 4 anime. Better after playing through the game though, as they're not exactly faithful to the original, nor a good substitute for the game itself.
I believe Makoto's character makes the most sense if its a man who has nothing. does nothing. given something. but only exists to protect that something. he doesnt exist to live. but rather exists to keep what he has.
I really wish they made it a series instead of movies. They left out a lot of interactions with other characters with him & I think that’s really why the movies didn’t hit as much as the game. However, the way they portrayed him in the movies I feel was better in some cases especially because he had a voice. & they added certain things that was good for ps3 as well.
I love how despite the three persona protagonists all resembling the fool arcena, each of them also represents a second one, Makoto represents the death arcena, with his attitude to it, Yu represents the justice arcana, him persuing justice in his town, to the point of working with a murderer. And Joker represents The world arcana, with the world at his back during the giant holy grail fight
You're taking the wording of "The World" too literally. The world is typically indicative of some kind of change, but not usually through the end of another thing, like with Death. If anything, Joker's Arcana lines up more closely with the Reversed Devil, that being, breaking free from come kind of restraint. You are right about Narukami and Makoto, at least to me though. ...Well, coming from my surface level understanding from just searching the individual card's meanings, anyways.
Joker doesn't represent the world he actually gets another persona of the fool Arcana named Raoul who is his true persona. Which is perfect for Joker as Arsene Raoul Lupin from the books can represent the true name of Arsene. Meaning it is the actual true form of Arsene that Joker started with
P3 is Death, P4 is Temperance, Catherine is Devil & Tower, P5 is Star. The trickstar Katsura Hashino follows Major Arcana cycle in his game design. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_Arcana#:~:text=The%20Major%20Arcana%20are%20the,used%20for%20playing%20card%20games.
He's a dick in the game too. You can choose your responses for all the Persona MCs since they're silent protagonists but the choices tell bits about their personality. Makoto can range from mildly optimistic to apathetic to mean. For example when talking to a little girl who's upset her parents are divorcing, you can choose to either comfort her or tell her the divorce is probably her fault. P4 is stoic but also a bit goofy. P5 is quiet but a little snarky and edgy.
I love how Makoto doesn't "live". He exists. He's doing literally nothing with his life, not even trying to preserve it if it's in danger. He's not even depressed, he's just... here
I love How they Did Minato in the Movies It perfectly fits with 3's dark story. but I still prefer His video game personality where he's not over the top Emo and has some of the funniest lines. Nothing will ever top his "It's a cat Dammit!" Line.
I feel like Yuki Makoto is like if an Introvert was the main character of an anime
Nah my man Junpei caught a stray 😭
Just by looking at Makoto, I always had the impression he had this kind of personality.
Not exactly like how he portrayed canonically, but this is the most fleshed-out characterization Makoto has.
1:48 Why does that read to me like a Fist of the North Star one-liner?
This. This is why he’s my favourite persona protagonist.
Guys i think he doesnt care
0:52 junpey rap
Shoutout to makoto for being slapped so that we can laugh behind our screens
This guy is Mr. Caring-and-Friendly in my play through apparently
his va is one of my personal favourites
Makoto : I don´t wanna live Aegis: I wanna ride you. Elizabeth: i call next.
Zura janai, Yuuki Da 🗿
Ironically the guy who cures the world from apathy syndrome is the most apathetic man alive.
No one knows better.
I wish P3R would make more reference to the movie.
Bro posing like that really think he John Yakuza.
I don't care
What is this? Anime? P3 anime?? I didnt know it exist...

Now I know why he slapped Junpei 🤣

Are these cutscenes from Persona 3 Portable? Or an anime?
Movie , there are 4 p3 movies

what a stoic
You know, that last clip makes Yukari slapping Makoto way more understandable.
Literally me
Though with this option he wouldn't have ranked up the arcana.
Why is.he.such a dick in the anime? And here i thought he was laid back and cool and nice. Damn.

Because he is not pussy
I swear, all Persona main protagonists are Robots, Puppets, or Dolls.
Persona is Moe JOJO. By that logic: P3: Jotaro/Makoto P4: Josuke/Yu P5: Giorno/Ren
Narukami might be swagkami and joker might be a phantom thief but makoto will always be magoato.
You know i like persona like everyone else. But the circle jerk you people have going on in the comments is unbelievable.
This is his character but man did I not stick to this in my playthru😂😅
I love his characterization in the movies
I love how he can dodge full on punches but never bothers to dodge Yukari’s slap. Japanese comedy is so fucking cringe man lol
Hey moron, his name is Makoto. Change your channel name loser. Chop chop
2:26 from where his eyes would be, he’d be making direct eye contact, or just staring at her face, making the scene funnier!
Man, Asshole Protagonist is more endearing than Nice Guy Protagonist
hes me lol
I love how Makoto doesn't "live". He exists. He's doing literally nothing with his life, not even trying to preserve it if it's in danger. He's not even depressed, he's just... here
nice bro
He's my inspiration
That’s still a type of depression.
Calm down bro,he's just trying to be ichise(ichise of texhnolyze)
he doesn't care
Me
Makoto is just the perfect level of “I don’t give a shit”
Yuki is based
Makotos the type of guy to be dying literal seconds away from seeing all of his friends and say "I don't care"
I love How they Did Minato in the Movies It perfectly fits with 3's dark story. but I still prefer His video game personality where he's not over the top Emo and has some of the funniest lines. Nothing will ever top his "It's a cat Dammit!" Line.
So what I gathered from this is when there is an opportunity to say : I don't care. I should pick it
Wtf literalmente yo yo yo soy yo soy ese soy yo
Honestly, if I’d endured all that Hell and was faced with the same shit as Makoto, I wouldn’t care either, not trying to sound edgy or anything
