I had the audacity years ago to say that Daniel Day-Lewis was not a good actor...I was a bit blown away that he won 3 Oscars and Robert De Niro only won 2! BUT in my defence I was about 12 years old and didn't know my arsehole from my elbow! And then... I saw him in Gangs of New York and THIS FILM and Last of the Mohican - NOW whenever I watch him I don't see Daniel Day-Lewis EVER...I just see the character! Some people say method acting is mental but I say it's a wholesome form of absolute dedication to your craft! It means you're taking it seriously! I bet most of you are with me guys when I say that there's nothing worse than when you're seeing a brilliant or tragic story portrayed by an actor who doesn't do it justice! Just imagine for example Gangs of New York WITHOUT Daniel Day-Lewis...nowhere near as good a film is it?!?! That's why I agree that the acting industry SHOULD BE one of the hardest industries to enter because we want the best of the best! Don't we guys?! Daniel Day-Lewis was ROBBED in Gangs of New York!
Some government secrets, all held secret for 30 year It’s called a R notice some cases a 50 year R notice, but in this case it is a 75 year R Notice are the government really that scared who are they protecting
THIS is why people hate and detest the police. They have gotten away with this shit for hundreds of years. Only recently have we been able to record police violating peoples rights on a daily basis and NOTHING is ever done about it. Imagine what they got away with before cellphone cameras.
They should have been given 15M pounds compensation each and the prosecuting police, prosecuting lawyers and previous judges jailed for 15 years each. This is what justice should have been like.
I watched this movie when I was 14 in high school. The impact was so strong I remember it now at 32. Amazing portrayals, heartbreaking story and beautiful music.

I remember seeing it on the news live when they got acquitted on tv has a boy then later watching this movie. For years in my school education we were never taught about the the troubles in Ireland and it was a case of censorship and they were the bad guys doing bad stuff to England for nothing but we all know it was a case of selective history like most history is until we stop looking and actually see crap in the narrative they teach us.
Exactly thanks to TH-cam we see things that were censored when we grew up. I grew up in England to Irish parents and all my English mates at school looked at Irish as murdering terrorists blowing up things. I asked them what they thought about Bloody Sunday and the Shankhill Butchers and they hadn’t heard of any of it!
Ex soldier, dad was ex senior police. This was so wrong, and a truly powerful movie. Trust me, decent coppers and soldiers will stand for the right thing.

For me one of the most powerful scenes in cinematic history. The performances and the harrowing music of sinead o Connor always moves me on an emotional level.

Estos cabrones de police a la cárcel y una indemnización o les va a faltar hospitales en la isla
Watching this in the wake of the Sub Postmasters scandal: some things never change.

A disgrace, no wonder England has problems these lies of innocent men is whilst not comparible with Hillsborough its the same thing
Is the ending credit song never released? I can’t find the same version online
Scene still gives me the chills. Such a great movie, incredible actors. Love it!
The music is incredible..
Cabrones me hizo 😢..y no veas que crimen.. cuántos así ?....en el mundo.. que OS den pol culo
Nothing the Brits and English hadn't being doing to others for 100's of years! Look at that nation now!!!! Karma.
Read the book you’ll think differently………they were IRA but made for a good story….hell mend the scum

Shame on Britain - although redeemed in the end - And I'm British !
This scene is bullshit. Solicitors do not have a right of audience in senior courts. British judges don't and have never used gavels.
A sorry costs no money at all.

Does anyone know the name of the song played prior to Sinead O'Connor's song? The one with bag pipes?
It’s the intro to her song from this movie. “You made me the thief of your heart”
I have that song, but it doesn't have the bagpipes in it.@@Stargreened
@@Criner05 Tell me which part of the film you’re on about with the bagpipes and I’ll see if I can recognise the tune
It starts at 0:22 and continues to at least 1:25.@@Stargreened

Sinead...te amare por siempre . Siempre fuiste un alma libre...ahora abriste tus alas.
An amazing film, with an ending made perfect by Sinead O’Connor. No one like her, what a loss.

Gareth Pierce is a moral hero, an English hero, a good human. What a woman! From an Irishman.
Bad people can do what ever they want, there is no justice for them unless people do something about it for real.
Even in my times ... I was told 'English' outside house; Irish inside' ... what were we REALLY afraid of?
Ex soldier, dad was ex senior police. This was so wrong, and a truly powerful movie. Trust me, decent coppers and soldiers will stand for the right thing.
The truth is always important which is why a film riddled with errors and fictions like this one, doesn't do the true story justice.
Great Battle against INJUSTICE ...
Really.
Exactly.
I remembered the first time I watched this movie, this scene had me holding back tears ..
I folded not gonna lie. Made me tear up a lil.

Wonder if the name of the father was really a mispelled "Guiseppe" instead of "Giuseppe".
powerful scene from a powerful movie!!! great acting ...especially DDL
The British justice system is so fucking corrupt just like the police and the government shame on them.
This Movie is so good. And its so sad, what happened to this people. Does anyone can trust the justice in the UK?
I think they should have shot to the real footage of the 4 leaving the court
What ever happend to them.i know Gerryhas since passed away (R.I.P. Mr Conlon) but curious to know what hapoend to the others.
Sadly Carole Richardson passed away in 2013 , Gerry Armstrong and Paul Hill still alive and have done ok since their release.
