I am so grateful to have been able to take a car across 8 diverse states over the course of 10 days! I only got footage of a few of the many locations I went to visit. If anyone out there is thinking about doing a road trip like this, I 100% recommend! I was able to find dispersed camping almost every night which gave me experiences I will forever remember! Thank you for watching! :)

My First Time Rowing a Single!
มุมมอง 57Kปีที่แล้ว
I've been rowing for two months now, but never quite expected this from a single. Doubles and quads are definitely more stable but I have to say, I had a super fun day out on the water! If you enjoyed the video please hit the like and subscribe for more!
5AM morning routine
มุมมอง 388ปีที่แล้ว
Being a High School student, I'm always trying to get a good morning routine to start my day. A good breakfast with a good workout before school always makes me feel more energized and ready for all my school work. I hope you feel a bit more motivated to start your morning earlier to get that good, energetic feeling throughout your day!
Brings back such great memories! I flipped my single quite a few times when I was starting out on the canal in Milan (naviglio). There are a lot of tourists in that area and they of course get their phones out and start recording as you're trying to get back into the boat. You're on YT within the hour. But love the way this fella just keeps smiling - great attitude. Keep it up and it will all start coming together.
noob
"Why's my oar like that?" I felt that heavily
I loved this POV, thank you! 😂 I'm a Masters newbie (8 months in) and after my 2nd time out in a single, Coach decided that's where I belong. Which terrifies me. I want to be back in a stable boat! haha (that same outing I managed to stay upright the entire time... until I got to the dock. Oof!)
I must say, after rowing in a single for a while now, there's definitely something beautiful about learning the balance and technique! (Even though I do agree that other boats are much more stable 😂) But I'm glad you started rowing and I'm wishing you the best in your journey!
that boat listened & was not persuaded😭🩵
Oh it was out to get me from the start! 😆
Too funny. That looks like a yard sale on t( water after flipping. He’s having a blast!
Everything decided to go for a swim... Including me!
I was the same my first time, except my first time was when i was on a race and i dont know how,but i didnt flip
lifes too short to care, do what you want
I couldn't agree more with that!
As a J14 rower who hasn’t yet rowed in a single (so I suppose this comment is kinda useless) , I think you actually did really well, even if you fell in, you looked happy. You will get better with the technique and being more confident in a single etc with time so at this stage just have fun 😃
You're 100% right, I had the best time out there in the single... Even if it meant going for a swim a couple times 😆
Painful to watch, but we've all been there😂
The boat doesn't want to fall
I was like this last week I was like this last week but in a 4 man . Totally useless 😊Trying again this morning
Practice makes better! I'm still learning but I've come a long way, so all the best to you in figuring it out!
as someone who did completely fine in fours and eights but suddenly couldn’t tell ass from scull handle and flipped 6 times on the first day in a single, really impressive how many times he could save it.
At least we both probably got pretty good at getting back in the boat after all our flips!
Incoming 3 seat
🤣 for real
do you row for roccs in Fl?
I did yes! Do you know them?
Ive rowed against them a couple of times
Great job! I enjoyed this very much. Great you learned to scull in warm weather. I learned in winter of all times!
Oh, I don't know what I'd do if I flipped all those times in freezing cold water... That would've been challenging!
All that gear but no idea how to use it. You should start in a less competitive boat since they are often more forgiving than the 100% carbon with backwing racing shells.
I definitely agree, the only thing is I was supposed to race that boat at states in just a couple weeks so I had to really quickly learn! But it all worked out in the end!
Everyone atarts small but do not flex with glas
シングルに初めて乗った時の俺やんwww怖すぎてまともに漕げんかった頃が懐かしいwww
I thought he did great - rowing is an incredibly difficult sport. I've been rowing over 40 years and you never "get it" - always things and combinations of things to work on. He had several very nice strokes. Stay with it you're doing great!
Thank you so much! Rowing is definitely a sport that you're constantly trying to improve on and that's something I keep trying to do to this today. I have definitely come a long way and have a long way to go.
I just did it for the first and second time this week, trick is to keep your hands together. I didnt capsise
Definitely! It took me a while longer to figure it out but eventually I learned how important that is!!
@@nicolaspokusa yeah, also keep calm
It is very advisable when starting as a newby…….to take very tiny strokes at first and build up gradually (get an experienced coach as well right from the start) also it’s better for the expensive equipment!!
Yeah you are very much so right... I learned very fast that rowing in a single needs a lot of grace 😂
have u got more rowing vids? Trying out rowing for the first time and this gave me a realistic idea of what it might be like! 😁😆
I do! I made a video a week ago after a year of rowing and I plan to make more! I've progressed a lot since a year ago when this video was made and I'm so happy with all the progress! I wish you all the best!! Rowing is an amazing sport and I hope you click with it!
Brother i have an honest question How in the hell you saved it so many times? If i was in your place i would have fallen in.
For real I can't tell you, the first thing the coach told me was "never let go of the oars." I didn't listen and somehow it worked the first time! 🤣
first time in singel and his in a back-wing
Bruh I’m 13 and I was in a single today and I didn’t flip
Mad respect because boy did I struggle with the first few outings in that single!! 😂
♥
who gave this man skinnies
Excellent improvement after one year
It’s a great video:)☀️
that is the most perfect weather I have ever seen
Where’s the flip
Oh my goodness gracious this video made me feel strange sensations
Phew, glad I’m not the only one buddy 😮💨
Let's give him the treatment
Nice video thanks
This boosted my self-esteem so much seeing someone freaking out over the same thing I did
Man, I sooooo happy to see that I`m not the only one struggeling hard in a single. ;) I had been rowing previously (5 years ago) in a 4x but stopped and went back into rowing three weeks ago and my coach threw me in a Coastal single the first few sessions and today into an actual single pretty much like yours. But in contrast to you, I was scared to death and almost peed my pants for the first 10min before it got slightly better. So funny that I came across your video today. Brighten my mood tremendously and I hope you are sticking with rowing. The fun in your voice at least made it look like you are having a lot of fun.
I'm so thankful I have this sport, and now a year later I've gotten so much better and I continue learning more! I hope you're still rowing and getting more comfortable in the single!
@@nicolaspokusa For sure. And two weeks ago I finally did the barell roll myself. :D
Honestly, some of the people in the comments are making fun of him or complaining, I’m just happy he’s having fun, every second of this, he has a smile on his face. Just happy as can be! Kudos to you man!
my first time sculling, i fell off the boat within 20 secs after getting shoved off from the pier
I gotta say I almost did that in a double... Pushed off too quick and I jumped out to save my partner from falling in too 🤣
ワイもスタート練習でやったことあるよ‼️ お互い頑張ろう‼️
It is clearly seen that the guy was playing a fool. It was far not the first time he was rowing in a single.
Oh dear - we have all been for a bath or two over the years. I remember finding out how quick release my quick release riggers were when they were not not locked on properly - SPLASH! Dude I think is trying to run before he can walk - shorter stroke particularly at the start, crisp even exits from the water, hands, hands , hands. And never ever let go of the blades - they are your stabilisers and supports. Needs to work on the technique and building up on the strokes over time.
tip here. when coming up and down the slide. make sure to have ur knees together vertical
or vertical*
So I have not done a single, as I am currently in a college that does all sweep rowing. I sculled a Quad over the summer, because local rec team was cheap to join and got me my water time I needed, and man that compared to a 4 is heaven! But I've basically done 4, quad, and 8... I'm on my last year of eligibility, so i'll be done after this year. Maybe this summer I'll get in a single. Only problem is our rec team isn't in a nice lake. We're in a river that's an active shipping channel (albeit, a part that's under used and sheltered by an island). But It'd be cool to learn and take a single up stream on the same river and put it in further up. It's a nice long stretch where people tube and kayak.
That sounds amazing! I've definitely gotten better with rowing the single since my first time... Thankfully!! And it is probably my top boat. The feeling of being completely in control once you learn the technique and balance is like nothing else, and I'm sure that would be great rowing up stream!
@@nicolaspokusa Just here post Vails to cry a bit about being out of college rowing. Gonna miss rowing with the boys :(
Those are some great sculling strokes! ~a purely sweep rower
Never say die and don’t give up.
Bro why He Rowling skinnies and backwing
I have been in a single a grand total of 3 times,i have to race the irish junior chamipionsjips next week
Wow that's amazing, best of luck to you!!
@@nicolaspokusa thanks
Keep those hands together on that table top lol! I remember that feeling of instability. I just got my first single this weekend, wish me luck.....
Oh yeah good luck! You'll have fun, once I got that technique down it became one of my most favorable boats to row in the team!!
gracias por compartir tu experiencia
Bro is first time on simple and he is on philiph
