This track looks different..
Epic new bike Jamie! Hope you had a good run on Con Air jumps too!
Sure did! A little breezy but that’s to be expected in Wellington eh
Hey I m based in Wellington. Do you guys provide sessions in Wellington?
Hey Raj. We’d love to make a road trip down and run some sessions in Wellington. We mainly do sessions in Rotorua though.
Yo this trail looks sick! Do you reckon this would work well as a first jumps track or are there other trails in the forest that would suit that better?
Check out Huckleberry and Corridor
Need a proper bike check!
This bike is sick! I’m so stoked with this build so I’ll do one of those for you for sore
oooh new bike day, me too, have recently bought a NOS 26r Ti H/T, looking forward to riding that as soon as I get my rear wheel back from the shop
Nice! Hope you can get out on it soon.
@@NewZealandMountainBiking yeah, me too.... really chomping at the bit to get on it
Biiig burms! How good does this look
Brraapt
It’s soooo good
Have they redone Dipper?
They have. It’s running better than ever
Nicee 😊

😎
Cheers Jamie yes it wa s a piece of work back then took over a year to complete many thousands of hours, great to see it in such good condition ..be great to see Creek Trail, Hundred acre wood on vid some time...keep up the great work
I'll try and get those trails on video sometime, thanks for the suggestion 🙌 That work has turned into something absolutely epic!
Definitely giving this a crack when I’m in Rotorua next. Nice little warm up trail.
You won't be disappointed! It’s chill but really fun.
Loved riding this with you bro!
Thanks heaps for all of your help with the GoPro settings 💪
Love 'Dipper' its a regular go to for me... great to hear the granddad of MTbing rotaz been mentioned (Freditor) as his drive and passion for the region is why this place is a mecca for the sport now. Mtbing started in rotaz for me in '88/89 and by '91/92 Fred had organised social group evening rides approx twice a week (incl names like D. Hollows, M Bosomworth and B Shapely)and had ran some regional races incl a couple of DH comps at the gondola! Appreciate if anyone has heard what he's doing these days would be well received, last I heard after he and Tracey split he moved to Upper Hutt, before then he ran a small bike shop on Fenton st and that was several decades ago...
Nice one Jamie, good fun with the kids. You seriously need a wind muffler for the GoPro though, heaps of wind noise because you’re so fast 😎🤙
Hahaha that was a factor. Cheers for the feedback 🤙🤙
@ no worries mate. Not trying to moan just some constructive feedback. Really like your videos! 🙌😎🤙
Yes to Fred in 1994, then the trees were thinned in 2012 and rebuilt/line cleared and cleaned with a few of us, Ash Edwards, Casey King, Digger. Someone (you know who you are), wanted to do a total rebuild and redesign BUT a few of us old school appreciators thought that this classic trail needed to saved, stay in the same context and style of old mate Fred and the classic old trail it is. Good to see an evolutionary upgrade, nice! Out There Industries
Yeah the history of this trail is pretty special, glad you could appreciate the upgrade
Hey Richie, Cheers, yeah it looks great in new build style.! Heck it took a year to build + thousands of hours...them Douglas Firs do offer a great canopy
So cool ❤ so much fun and an awesome confidence building track 😎 . One of my favs 🙌
It's been great to see your confidence grow on our sessions over the past few months 🙌 Keep having fun out there!
What an adventure! Thank you for capturing + sharing 🙌
Thanks for following along. It was such a cool trip. Hard work though!
Is this trail still open?
Yes it is. It doesn't go down to the lake anymore. There is now an extension that takes you to the bottom of Moerangi Rd.
I remember riding the old EVS for the last time in Oct 2018 before logged. Always changing...love it!
🙌
EVS is definitely one of the best trails in that forest, thanks for the warp speed tour! That day/night transition is hectic eh, add to that the light shining through and it really upped the warp speed effect, thought I was watching a space clip for a few seconds there...
That day to night section is like going into a tunnel with no lights! It’s awesome to see so many people stoked on this trail. Glad you enjoyed the video
Superb 😮
Cheers!
So Awesome watching Asher gapping almost everything possible at warp speed. What a ride down there 🙌😎🤙
That’s a master of pressure control right there. Super smooth eh!
One of the most fun and terrifying trails in the forest. I’m sure the rebuild will be epic.
I agree. I generally try to keep it pretty chill
Slightly off topic, the POC Devour Photochromic… any good? Tossing up a few options, the fastest transition wins.
I like them a lot. They never steam up riding and after you stop, they clear fast as. I can recommend 💪
Love those words "too easy to have fun on" So easy to get carried away, and you're right those trees creep up damn quick if you go a bit deep.
So true
NOOOOOO I can't believe EVS will be felled. We had a joke that every trip to Rotorua started with EVS. I am down in two weeks. Stand in front of those chainsaws I want one more run.
Not till the end of summer at least. The chainsaws were crews thinning on Tukonohi block. Tūkonohi and Whaki have a bit more space now 🤙
Oh no what’s happening to this track???
The top will be logged at the end of summer. You still have plenty of time to visit and get a few more laps 🤙 it’s going to be sad to see it felled but we’re stoked that we can ride in this commercial forest. Something awesome will be built in its place 🙌
Awesome! Felt like watching the video at 1.5x the speed haha! So quick.
It’s a quick trail this one. And Asher is proper fast! When I worked on the first response unit, that top 200m would claim a few folks having too much fun 😬
@ Yes one of my friends got up close and personal with one of the trees earlier this year.
😬
Really enjoyed this one,our go to trail when heading home, very nice Jamie as always!
Cheers! Always a good ride!
What would you recommend dialing in before hitting this? Mr Black?
Yeah definitely. Corridor Jumps, Huckleberry hound, Mr Black, Katore Jumps. The trail has the speed, you have to bring the confidence and ability.
im going to there on the 15th of December
Get it!!
i was there on that day who are you and did u go on the shuttle
What a trip thanks for letting come on the journey
You’re welcome
Wow nice skills
He’s smooth eh
I was talking about you as well mate😊❤
Great conditions great videos mate
Cheers mate, it was awesome!
Did that track last month man it's great 😊❤ great videos keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
It's a good trail but doesn't hold a candle to Aline. There's room for a whole lot more tables down there in place of some of those rollers. Cool vid though and nice style lads!
Yea you’re right. A-line is a different kettle of fish. Great to hear your feedback 🤙
Such an amazing trail, definitely needs a sighting run though! I brake checked too much on the first step up and went splat on the face with the front wheel at the top of the landing, luckily didn't get injured but broke my saddle and bent both pedal shafts, rode out of it and finished the trail without trying any more of the step ups... Would I go back to Rotorua and do it all again? Absolutely, it's that good.
Haha, ouch, glad you're ok! That's a perfect example for why a sighting run is pretty important. The cheesy pre-run re-run free-run.. it’s got some logic behind it.
@@NewZealandMountainBiking Absolutely, it's such a well built trail and I'd cleaned everything up to that, I thought "It's not going to be that much bigger" but it is, and I had slowed down way too much because I thought I was going way too fast, just rolling would have been fine but braking caused me to come up short. I got out of it very lucky.
Glad luck was on your side!
Is this a new one? When was it built
Used to be named little red riding huck which has been there as long as I remember which is like 4 years
@ ahh yeh I thought it might have been that one but renamed, cheers
But it was given a full face lift a couple of years ago (2021 or 22) which was when it had the name change
What would you recommend dialing in before hitting this? Mr Black?
Yea and just feeling super comfortable on jumps. The section from hill rd to mid skid rd gives you a pretty good taste of what the full trail is like
Finally!! Looks mint, will need a lesson to tackle this one!
It’s definitely a fun one to learn.
Im just starting to learn how to jump well do you have any advice on learning how to jump or do you know any tracks which are good for learning in redwoods im comfortable doing tracks up to grade 4 and maybe the easiest grade 5's great video btw
Yeah get a lesson 😂😂 nah but seriously, ride trails you’re relaxed on and practice pumping. Challenge and corridor a pretty good place to start 🤙
Being waiting for this
But you guys need to do some of the dh lines
Trail bike version?
@@NewZealandMountainBiking yep
OMG 😱😱😱
Mate you have the best office in the country!
It’s amazing!!!
Nice lines 😊
Thanks mate!
This is awesome!
Loose and skatey! Squishy squishy 🤣
Slick guys! Did this for the first time today. Found some of the hairpin corners quite technical as well as the drops to steep chutes. Always looks much scarier in person is what I’m finding! 😊
You’re right, they do generally look a bit scarier in person 🫣
News Zealand mountain bike where do you access the Trail cameing from the redwood end
To get to this one, up the Waipa valley is the most direct
Where sir 🤔

Nice shout out to Rob, Jamie… Excellent vid!
Thanks! He's a legend.
