중앙고 정문앞에서 왼쪽으로 올라가는 가회동 길로 몇분만 걸어가면 중학교때 살던 집이 있습니다. 재동초등학교 졸업하고 가까운 중앙중에 들어가길 원했는데, 휘문중에 배정받아,, 3년을 계동길로 통학을 했었습니다. 휘문중 3학년 2학기 쯤 학교가 강남 대치동으로이사를 가서 가회동에서 통학을 했었는데, 버스에 걷는 시간까지 합해 편도 1시간 반정도 걸려 통학을 했구요. 세월이 워낙 많이 흘렀지만 계동길의 건축물들은 어려서 보던 모습과는 크게 달라진 것 같지않고 다만 길가의 상가 모습만 많이 변한 것 같습니다. 그리고 당시 계동길이 큰 길은 아니었지만 영상속 보이는 모습보다는 훨씬 넓었었는 생각이 듭니다. 중3때 통학하던 대치동 휘문 중학교는 한전이 있는 곳에 당시 자동차 교습학원이 있었고 여기서 버스에 내려 언덕길로 올라가던 기억도 나고,, 안개가 자주 그리고 깊게 끼어 학교 올라갈 때 언덕 흙길 바로 앞만 보이는 데로 따라 올라가던 기억도 나네요. 지금 대치동 중학교의 주변 모습은 빈 공간없이 빽빽히 높은 빌딩이나 아파트가 들어차 당시 학교 올라가면서 걸었던 곳이 어디인지 흔적조차 찾을 수 없을 만큼 완전히 바뀌었죠. 그에 반해 추억의 가회동 계동 지역은 잘 보존되어 아주 좋네요. 미국에 살면서 한번씩 한국 방문 하지만 가회동 계동 지역은 꼭 한번 둘러보고 싶었지만 일정상 한번도 못 들렸는데, 올 봄 한국 방문시는 꼭 가보고 싶네요. 덕분에 잘 봤습니다.

Very beautiful! I love how pretty the snow is. Do you ever get ice storms? We had over 7 inches of snow last week & ice. It was very cold.
