Yamaha XVS650 VSTAR 650 Pod filter alternative. (FREE POWER) read description for more info
On my Staight Pipe Vstar 650 I did this "dog bowl air filter" modification to increase substantially the horse power on the bike.
This works if you are going to re jet the bike and already have a free flowing exhaust.
I used 122.5 and 30 jets.
3.5 turns on the pilot screw.
The bike gained a ton of power with this mod. feels amazing, starts right up and power delivery is butter smooth.

Yamaha VStar 650 friction zone mod.
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This will fix the very short and super far friction zone on your yamaha vstar 650. make sure you use a compression spring that's long enough to put pressure on the line. No need to pay $50 dollars to anyone just to drill a hole.
How to fix your Audi S4 A/C for $30 or less.
มุมมอง 2554 ปีที่แล้ว
Fixing my 2010-2016 Audi S4 A/C compressor by replacing the electric solenoid valve. This is a very common problem on new cars. I did the same on a friends 2011 VW Golf. Look for the denso part number of your compressor and search on Ebay or Amazon and you will find the correct valve you need. In my case was 6SES14C and the one I'm using is compatible.
piston ring filer diy
มุมมอง 19K6 ปีที่แล้ว
I made this filer using a regular dremmel tool. The cutting disk sits at a perfect 90 degree angle to the board. And also cuts the ring at a 90 degree angle so both sides match perfectly after cut. *For the people that have never done this, you cut only one side. Not both. You want both sides of the rings to meet square. They come together when they heat up and they need to seal. Cutting them a...
VW piston wrist pin play?

I'm trying to figure out if this amount of play in the wrist pins is Ok or if I should change the wrist pins all together?? Any help will come on handy. Thanks before hand.
Harbor freight Horizontal band saw into Vertical Band saw
มุมมอง 2817 ปีที่แล้ว
I turned a harbor freight Horizontal band saw into a vertical one. The table is a chopped Ikea table. And the casters are from a creeper I had laying around on the shop.
Leaky vw 16v head.
มุมมอง 1667 ปีที่แล้ว
I wonder if I could clean the mating surfaces of the valve to the head, and reset the valve and see if he's going to take away the leak? I don't think the exhaust valve were bent in any way, since the are so deep into the head.
Bandsaw table IKEA

Made an an IKEA kitchen table into a bandsaw table. The Harbor Freight casters actually bolted onto the IKEA legs. I made the table using the HF bandsaw and a HF welder.
Harbor Freight Earthquake impact gun VS Husky 500 foot lbs gun
มุมมอง 23K9 ปีที่แล้ว
I was sick of my Husky "professional" impact gun that never worked well and I bought a 700lbs rated Harbor Freight gun and put them to the test. Sorry for the part where the video flips or when I put the camera on the floor. The point is that the HF gun is extremely strong.
2001 Ford Focus AC Problems
มุมมอง 5K10 ปีที่แล้ว
2001 Ford Focus. A/C mechanic put a new in the box compressor, dryer, orifice tube on the Focus and 2 months later is doing that. Let me know if you know what that is.. I am thinking the guy probably never flushed the system and trashed the new compressor.
Corrado G60 with out bay seals on
มุมมอง 24110 ปีที่แล้ว
I removed the two rubber seals on the engine bay and taped some shredded plastic under the hood to see if it would make any vacuum and pull the hot air out of my bay while driving. I normally run a rain tray cover there but is off on this video.

Adding a Ground ghetto style to test for issues
What let you know it was the valve and not the compressor ?
@exoinky1293 bad compressor makes horrible sounds when bad usually . If the pressure switch in the condenser is good (which they do go bad) then it's more than likely the valve inside the compressor. The switch on the condenser has a shader valve on it, you you can take it out without loosing freon.
@ see mine will run and look like it’s spinning Rpm changes for just a second then drops back to 700(idle) I’m thinking it’s the clutch unit but I might as well just get a whole new one it’s 120 more
If its spinning, i doubt its the clutch. scan for codes. The pressure switch will give you a code @exoinky1293
Did you just pull the valve straight out??
@@AngelMartinez-rt4oi it has a circlip holding it. That's it.
@@hogueraleksander5868 thank you
Love it !
What do people mean by filing from the inside to outside?
On this video..judging by the grinding sparks from his point of view.. he's filing outward from the inner diameter of the ring.. The correct way is grinding inward towards the inner diameter of the ring..sparks should be coming towards him..
The reason why there not taking the bolts off is because your probably using a 3/8 air hose with 3/8 air fittings you need Milton high flow fittings with 1/2 inch air hose
Superb
Change bushings. Too much play
Why bother
Idk if is is the the wrist pins or the rods but yeah something is wrong and needs replaced
Please don't do this, hand file and inspect under a magnifying glass is the only to truly get your ring end gap established and the ring ends true to each other as intended by the manufacturer. Sidenote; you might want to slap the idiot that taught you this shade tree, Jerry Springer idea.
Hello, good idea but rpm is very high.2000-3000 rpm is good for this application.
Bulllllllshitttt
Going to try to build one of those.👍
I hope this guy does not work on anybody else’s cars because he is a bonehead all of the comments are correct on this guy
You saved me 50 dollars and this is much more effective!
Those other commenters are right, you had the Husky in 'forward' (tighten) instead of 'reverse' (loosen) .
Lol... maybe you dont know how to use the only impact gun you had before the earthquake, but I assure you, I knew then as i know now the difference between reverse and forward. That POS impact is still without usage after all these years.
😆😆😆
The Volkswagen factory book says U should be able to push the pin thru the bushing with your thumb and it's supposed to have virtually no play. To get an idea of this get a new rod and a new or like new wrist-pin and have a look-see.
From what i read on VW factory specs book it says tolerance should be .0004-.001 and not exceed .002. Connecting rod to piston
Yes, they are snug, I built a setup on a Bridgeport mill years ago to precision ream them. Rebuilt dozens of them. I found 99 out of 100 rods would have a good big end but frequently the bushing would be loose.
What did you fid out? is it normal, or should they be firm?
The bushings inside were worn out. Who ever messed with that literally chopped them up.
@@hogueraleksander5868 so new ones have no play at all?
@@esteve95 nope. They are nice and tight side ways. They sell the bushings and I believe they are easy to replace. I ended up upgrading to forged pistons
I love TH-cam.
You champion
Good show, time to rejoice!
Those torq screws are from a passat vw!!!! Am I wrong. Great DIY by the way.
Hi bud, I want to install some catcam valve springs to my 027 head. as I've gone all put 1900 cc je piston, forged rods, arp bolts, all balanced, jenvey indivual throttle bodies. And the standard springs will now hold me back a little. do I need to remove the head to change the springs?? Cheers
You will have to do each cylinder at a time. Put the piston you are doing at top dead center and do intake and exhaust at the same time. You dont want the valves to drop inside the engine. If that happens, you need to remove the head
@@hogueraleksander5868 thank you bud. When it comes round to deciding what cams I'll go for I'll do the springs 🤙
Not to be rude here, nice hack...but from the way the sparks were coming off, you were grinding the ring from inside to outside. Need to reverse that Just by putting the ring on the other side of dermal tool would work great
That was a test old ring. Just to give a demo. No one files a ring with only one hand. Lol.
Be cautious using this method as it can remove a lot of material quickly
Good one Mate! I was about to gap the rings for my race engine but the ring diameter at 4-5/8" is too big for my ring filer. Back to the shop to build your tool, thanks.
What grid are u using?
What ever the cheap dremmel disks are. Which are way finer than the manual filers they sell for like 80 bucks and suck. You are only to remove very little and then measure your rings on the bore. I practiced with all rings to see how much I was removing. To my surprise, it doesnt take too much each pass, which is a good thing.
Hoguer Aleksander thanks you
You get a thumbs down for 2 reasons; 1- your set up is filing from the inside to outside-WRONG! 2- the ring needs to be squeezed so both ends of the ring get filed at the same time to keep them square with each other!
You have no clue what you are talking about. You are not supposed to mess up both sides of the rings.
@@hogueraleksander5868 Actually Koko is right . Please Read this Blog by blog.wiseco.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-ring-gap
POTCsIronMan actually Hoguer is correct. The link you provided even says so......”Remember to only file one end of the ring, and take care to avoid damaging any coating the ring may have.”
Koko has never build a motor that has even made it down the road
@@hogueraleksander5868 I retract my previous statements . You only file 1 side indeed . My bad.
YEEEEESSSSSS!!! Love it bro, you are a genius lol. I didn't want to spend a $100-$200 and I have two of those so this will work for me
I had that same Harbor Freight air wrench and dropped it one time and now the back buttons don't work. I've replaced it with the $75 husky model number h4455 with 650ft lbs. I've dropped it several times and its still going. I am a professional Automotive technician working for a major car rental company so I really get to put air wrenches to the test. On average I changed about 30 Wheels a day and the Husky has been pretty good to me. Once this gun wears out I will definitely buy a Ingersoll Rand.
Ummmm....how about putting the Husky in reverse??????
@Wade I wonder his selector is in forward position it looks
I have a feeling it could be the orifice tube, my ac was blowing somewhat cool until i recharged it, i would expect my ac to start blowing cold after that but it actually became less cool, i think the ac refridgerant isnt going all the way through the orifice tube.
Although i have yet to try and fix it, so i can say for sure thats your problem
Not for an interference engine. Beware! Leave the belt on.
Not using impact sockets like everyone has said, and you NEVER go at lug nuts and tighten them with a impact wrench without using Torque sticks or a Torque wrench.
Get impact sockets
nice impact socket
nice video but one question... why aren't you using an impact socket? the chrome ones can shatter under the stress of the impacts and seriously injure you.
hi hoguer! I have the same problem, how did you fixed it? thanks...
impact sockets my friend
Your right the husky is a pos! So I'll stick with my IR.
You are a fraud my friend! The Husky was in forward as you can see in the video!
brother. not a chance. I would not spend another 100 bucks after i just bought the husky only a few months befere, if the gun worked fine. it was and it is a POS.
You must be blind.
Your either blind or stupid. If you pause the video @ 1:10 you can clearly see the Husky is in reverse.
That model Husky has F on the left and R on the right. If you pause the video around 1:08 - 1:10 you can clearly see this and that the selector is turned to the right. It's in reverse. What in the hell is wrong with you?
What kind of lugs are those? Never seen that style lug nut.
Lug bolt, lots of German cars have them.
I thought he broke the studs 😂😂
Ahhh thats not a fair review, they all lose power and torque over time. Everything mechanical will eventually break down.
I guess my question is how old is the husky ? it looks worn out and HF looks NEW
HF gun is good. But man, those poor studs lost some fatigue life by being hammered down hard.
if you do it with the timig belt removed, the valves will be damaged.
+estuardo vinicio caceres rodriguez I removed the Cam shaft before doing this on this 8v motor so the valves went back up on the head.
Impact sockets matter!
Husky was on its way out chunk it if you already have not lol
that Husky looks beat up, but if I used it 15 times since new it's too much.
+Hoguer Aleksander harbor freight is way easier to get good deals without waiting for Father's Day or similar I saw a coupon for this same impact for 77$ what a steal
why aren't you using impact sockets
Even though they are only 17mm wheel studs I don't think a regular impact socket would fit in the wheel lug holes
didn't have any at time, and just wanted to do a quick test. I do believe a 17mm impact socket would fit those wheels
+Hoguer Aleksander looks close but I believe ya
