For a good period of time the Sharks were an absolutely terrifying team to see your team play against. They were stacked from the 1st line down to the primary goalie and they still couldn’t get it done. At one point SJ’s team was as stacked as 2012-2014 LA Kings and still just couldn’t do it. Hell at one point, all three California teams were top cup contenders, now they are all shells of what they use to be.

You haven't been paying attention and I don't blame you but it's def not all of a sudden. This was beautiful to watch, this is a great presentation about the best in Hockey. My father has told me that its Pele that is the best football player of all time, he has won 3 world cups. Here in Montreal, where I live, we learned that its Maurice Richard, main character in Hockey. Curiously, its not him who has the most of Stanley Cup wins but its his younger brother, Henri Richard with 11 Stanley Cup Wins -- all with Canadiens. I consider my lucky be living at the time when I could watch Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Lionel Messi and Michale Jordan. But in my opinion, I think that its Mohammed Ali the best of all because he was known across the globe, he was charismatic, smart, funny and most importantly, a symbol for peace.

Given all that Ovy has done for the franchise, management has made the conscious choice to put off the rebuild until after he retires and most of the fans are ok with that. This chase is a rarity and you have to let him go for it. If it means swinging for the cheap seats with what will turn out to be bad contracts then so be it.

We have to keep in mind that this draft was very close to Covid-19, that there were countless unknown factors about the prospects, and that it just seemed to be one of those years with no obvious first overall pick, no generational player, no obvious franchise player. I actually am under the impression that there appears to be more pression on Ivan Demidov right now than there ever was for Juraj Slafkovsky. Now, don't get me wrong, I do love Slaf and I'm glad that they went with him instead of Shane Wright or Logan Cooley. Slaf seems to be an extremely mature and hockey focussed young man, which is quite important in a city where a fourth line part timer almost necessarily reaches rock star status in terms of popularity and......of the ice "distractions". Slaf's attitude seems to be perfect for Montreal, and he is capable of contributing in various ways. The kid has a good shot, much better playmaking skills than what we were originally told, a good physical game. He's capable of scoring different types of goals. Now, I am not expecting Slafkovsky to become a Joe Thornton type player. I don't really have specific expectations when it comes to that kid and it could be one of the reasons why I actually am more than happy with his development thus far.

i always think ab that as a lifelong caps fan myself. I think a lot about 2019 and how i think if we had won game 7 of the first round instead of the canes, we easily could've went to at least the third round. Ofc its hard to defend a title but we still had like 90% of our cup team still there in 2018-2019 and I think we certainly would've made it to the final four at least if game 7 of round 1 ended differently. A conference final run i would've been very proud of cause as i said its hard to defend a title and ofc the bruins that year were unbeatable. We easily would've thumped the isles in round 2 like the canes did in 4 or 5 then we prolly would've lost to them cause of that but we prolly would've put up a tougher and more entertaining fight than the canes did like lose in 5 or 6 rather than a sweep like the canes did. sorry for the long comment lol just a lot to dissect

@@8JFJK8 the 2019-2020 roster was quite similar to the previous 2 when it came to out too 6 but are depth wasn’t as strong and the COVID bubble in the 2020 playoffs I think deflate team chemistry cause of the circumstances with no family, friends and fans and very little downtime. 2021 and 2022 and 2024 we were simply outplayed by higher seeded teams but yes 2019 I feel we were somewhat robbed of going to at least round 3. Obviously the canes are and we’re a great group but man in that double OT period they beat us simply out of pure luck. And yes hopefully we get to at least the second round. Obviously another run to the final or conference final would be legendary but I just wanna get out of round 1 again at least.

@@gallydex3566 I’m not gonna lie I didn’t like the move at first but considering the market and if he wants to play it could be quite smart. However there is a reason he’s been on 3 teams in as many years.
