Newly passed Class 2 here! Going for Class 1 in a few months. I use my retarder at roundabouts and it's so much better. You have the time to make observations and anticipate when coming up to roundabouts. I find it much safer too than using your breaks when getting super close to the roundabout, I still tap the break sometimes when the revs are getting less to drop it down a gear 💪 I have a question. Would you get penalised or points deducted when doing that on a test?

When I was Driving for a Living in Scotland, I viewed everyone else as a mobile accident waiting to happen & made sure I was ready to avoid any that popped up .

I love the this. I deliver grain to farms and it’s so bloody tight not only in the farms but on the roads leading up to them. It’s nice to know people (you) get out and look! I used to get embarrassed people thought I was useless because I get out and look 🤦🏻‍♂️👍🏻

Hi Barry, you re doing all the roads that I used to drive on. Last time I drove to Tain was late 1980's I used to drive the malt for all the whisky distileries. Your bringing back some memories mate. Stay safe mate.

CB's seem obsolete these days but are still used widely. If the techno - world goes into meltdown making our phones and computers and twatticus naviguses virtually useless, CB's will still work! Limited range - I think about 10 to 15 miles?, unless adding some boots (Linear amplifier) to boost transmission power, and a decent twig (aerial) to put it out and take it in with. In the 70's they had AM sets that had incredible range for the same watts of power, but they were outlawed - can't remember why actually. It is "Breaker one - nine for a copy" For truckers, and "One - four for a copy" is the general channel. Can't remember if any other channel numbers are set for anything in particular, except when you've found someone to chat to more privately and moving to a mutual channel.

My older brother used to have a cb radio in his car channel 19 was the channel he always used 1.9 for a rig check was also taking to a guy up on risworth moor a few weeks ago who was using a cb radio
