You said you used the McGuffy readers after the Bob Books. Was that all 6 of the McGuffy Readers before using the Treadwell Primer. Also did you make sure he did well at the lesson or page he worked on before moving on or did you move along anyways? Thank-you!!

You have some very unique book picks that I hadn’t heard anywhere else! I love that you used Ambleside online for what works for you, but then blaze your own trail for the history cycle - very cool! 😎 And that’s a great plan for the very beginning of the history books. We’re doing something similar, a 4 year history rotation, with different streams adding at different times. It’s confusing to say quickly, but I like how it keeps all the children on the same timeline, even if some read higher level books for the time period.

I know that mentioning the blog is old. I tried to go back to the blog but I can't seem to find how to set up the binder or the daily lesson plans. I would love to figure out how to do this for my 8 yr old and 5 yr old and any suggestions to where to buy letters. Thanks again!

I just love the Treadwell and Free books! They expose the kids to so many high frequency words while reading timeless stories that are of high interest!

Thanks for this video, I want to do a lot of CM methods in our homeschool but I'm not sure about singing. I like it but my husband is disabled and always home. I don't sing in front of others even him lol. I need to work on that I guess. Other than that part I would love to have a day like this. <3

I have 2 young boy. The first is 3 years old who reads similar to a first grader right now. And also the another one is 5 years of age is like a 3rd grader already in reading. I didn`t expect for these great results. I coached my boys to learn to read with the help of this amazing studying manual. It is so nicely prepared that virtually any boy or girl can easily learn how to read with it. Get this reading guide by Google. The reading guide’s name is Elena Readoρiz Take care

Thank you so much for posting this video! It was so helpful in understanding a CM method for teaching reading. In the past, I have only used "100 Easy Lessons" to teach reading, which was only partially successful, and resulted in lots of drudgery for my students. I am looking forward to a much more exciting lesson with my next upcoming reader! (Also, I loved hearing you teaching with "real life" going on in the background. I can so relate! :)

We combine Mater Amabilis and Ambleside Online for my year 2 and year 4 students. I've been looking for a good planner. Hopefully this one will finally be the one I'll love. I love how you've gone through explaining your weekly schedule. We always do saints on Mondays because I find it easier to start the week with a saint than catechism.
