Gorgeous, Mary!
Hey can you show me your rarest plant please
Sure
Can you sell me some
Thank you for sharing this information. I will be pulling out some cannas from my MIL’s house and I was concerned about cutting them down and replanting them.
How old do the trees have to be to start growing the pods?
You said not to pick green but you can if you are going to cook it
if harvesting in the fall, can i keep them in a baggie over the winter and plant in spring?
Love the song. Too bad its so short
I picked up two Datura in the spring, a white one and a yellow one is all they had. I had no idea what they were but I loved the flowers. As I popped the dead flowers off spikey balls started growing. I thought they looked cool so I left some. I didn’t realize they were seed pods until I googled to see what they were so I let a bunch more grow from each plant. Now I have about 30 seed pods from each plant that I’m going to try to grow. I should get a few from 60 pods with a zillion seeds in each pod, lol! I need to find other colors now, the purple is gorgeous!! Thanks for the Aloe Vera tip, I didn’t know it was a rooting compound, I have two giant aloes!
I’ve been trying to figure out how to care for my canna plants for years. This is so helpful!
It’s a beautiful plant ❤I grow moon flowers is that the same ?
Moon flowers are different species.
@@NASAastronautStep-Momok thanks
Yes ! Thank you!
I just got some rooted cuttings from someone and I'm in Houston TX zone 9b. Thank you for the information.
Awesome video! I just received some free cannas and I want them to survive. I’m in Georgia.
My area is very cold When should I bring her inside . And how should I care for her indoor even though it’s not in indoor plant. Thank your videos
How to use the seeds if not for planting but digesting
Harvest when it is a green and long drumstick, cut and eat with food for good protein
Make sure it’s thin ones (really young)
These flowers are absolutely beautiful, I just wish they had a smell to match their beauty!
What kind of soil do you recommend for spider plants?
So clear and helpful, easy to see and great tips - thank yoi!
Yeah I use my Dremel tool so much quicker
This is a great video. Thank You!
How old is that tree? Mine is staying so thin! Its about 8' tall but only about 1" in diameter. I'm considering cutting it back after i harevst the seed pods. Is that a good idea? Im in central florida zone 9B, mone is 1 year old, only in the ground 3 months though. It gets full sun all day, watering about twice a week. It only put out 2 pods 😔
How can I help my aloe plants grow? It’s summer and I put one outside and it wilted ????
What about having cannas in your garden in MO can they stay in the garden or do we need to put in pots for autumn winter ?
After a hot Texas summer in zone 8A . I cut back the canns and they bounce back really well until the first frost.
Can you please tell us how often we have to water them? And how to care for them in planters vs ground? Mine aren’t doing great right now
Thank you so much for this! I had no idea this is what I was supposed to do. I have a lot to learn. Lol
The first time that I cut my cannas down I thought I was going to have a heart attack! The came back twice as beautiful as before.
Thank you so much, this exactly what i needed to know!
❤
Thank you so much for this very informative video! Helped me so much!!
Where do you find the seeds
Will it still bloom after this? Or is it done for the year?
What side of your home is it? Does it get morning sun?
I would like to know if I may have seeds to grow a tree.
Thank you for the purslane idea. I have a non working fountain that I needed ideas on what to plant. I think I’ll do a mix of purslane, Purple Heart and maybe elephant food/succulents.
Great info, ive watched so many. Your cannas are do healthy and pretty. Thank you!
Thanks, appreciate it
I finally found an AZ outdoor gardener that answers so many questions that I’ve had! So helpful to include the direct that your house is oriented, fertilizer, season to prune back, etc.
Thank you for posting this for a newbie canna grower! I didn’t know we can grow such beautiful foliage plant in AZ.
You also can place the seeds in a cup and pour boiling water over them for 15 to 20 seconds and it causes micro fissures in the seed coating….it does work
Thx how’s ur angel trumpet plant doing in-ground this far Ive bought one n would love to plant in-ground eventually I will do the like u have done with in pot for a time then to the ground it goes 😊 Tia n pointers from u as well
Useful helpful info. Helps build confidence.
If I’m not interested in canna blooms, but for their leave color, so can I plant in pots and leave on front porch in shade?
Same question
How cold does it get where you are, and for how long?
Thank you for all the amazing information! You answered so many questions I had! Thanks again☺️🌸
Very nice cannas! I was gonna say where do you live?! Haha and then you said AZ lol no wonder! Im in OR and I brought my cannas inside for the winter. I never cut down one of them since it was still growinh leaves inside. Now the other one that died off and I did cut back is starting to shoot up and just got its first leaves! I think I'm gonna cut out some of the older stalks out of the other one I didn't trim back before since they stopped growing.. and I just realized the plant has also put out 3 newer stalks!😊
Would it not be better to let the leaves die back so that the Nutrients from the said leaves are absorbed by the rhizomes??
Are these D. metel by chance? I’ve wanted to plant the stramonium varietal but can’t find any wild growth to collect a pod from; I only ask because metels are the only plants sold in my area. Lovely garden btw, I need to develop the space for mine!
I have some white flowers Datura if u want some
