I agree with Tyler and auroraionaa. Yeah, World War II was a awful war, but that doesn't mean he can't dream he did his part to protect his country. Also, not everyone was jumping out of airplanes, and if he did die before he was able to jump, that would most likely be because of AA fire apon the plane, which wouldn't really be his fault now would it?

your great grandfather survived an unbelievably terrifying situation but i have to say the quote sounds like its disrespecting the Japanese soldier, what we have to realise they are like any other US soldier just men trying to survive. Their is good and evil on both sides its never been good vs evil its unfortunate that wars have to happen. respect to your great grandfather but respect the soldier that was killed too, because he probably had a famly aswell.
