    Thanks for your insights Eddie and Stella. I'll be taking the exam tomorrow (my second try after 3 years, a lot has changed) and this video has been helpful. Just want to clarify that the Automatic Mutual Recognition / JobPass is a thing since 2023, where registered Architects may practice in all States and Territories in Australia except Queensland. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The new format for Part 2 is now 80 questions in 120 minutes, still online, and is tested against the new NCSA 2021. The new NCSA 2021 is much more expanded to cover a wide area of an Architect's responsibilities, in greater detail than NCSA 2015. I had a lot of difficulty adapting to the new NCSA but I do believe it is a much clearer system than before, although some of the mandatory performance criterias are a little unfair to be tested against at registration (as each company's client base may not naturally cover those areas). I'm not sure if you're still active here but if you reply I'll try to come back here if I have any new advice. Also the Mukbang format was great!

  • @herman29958
    @herman29958 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks very much for this. You are awesome. Just one question if you don't mind. So you are saying that it would be better to log hours for 3-4 projects only instead of 10 or more projects. But how do you get to 3300 hours with only 3-4 projects? I have been working on small projects like houses, townhouses, pubs for 5 years. I don't think that by choosing 3-4 projects I will be able to make it. Are you talking about 3-4 design (only) projects or 3-4 projects that you have done design and project management? Thanks

    • @architecture101_nsw
      @architecture101_nsw 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hernan, the 3-4 projects is more of a guide. I'd say try and focus logging the majority of ours against a few projects where you committed alot of time, and use other less significant projects to fill up the remainder of the hours. I understand that for alts and adds on residential projects, 3-4 may not add up to the required 3300 so will have to be tailored to your own scenario. Happy to chat more if you need help. Thanks man, this is really helpful video. I am working in a building design / drafting firm in Melbourne, where I am mostly working autonomously on townhouses / multi-unit residential projects design and DA. Where should I log preparation of architectural drawings for town planning submission? In detailed design 5.3 or documentation (6.3 and 6.4)? Do you consider only construction documentation (working drawings) for 6.3 and 6.4? 2) Do you think I should log my overseas experience (where I was project lead) for 8.3 , 8.4 and 8.5 at executive level? But I don't have any experience in contract administration in Australia.

I do have 7 years of experience but only 8 months with a registered architect. Are you familiar with the NPRA process or do you know anyone who has gone through this process? Thanks for another good podcast! I'm currently in the registration process. As for your comment on "First Instance", I've gathered that as meaning, "who would be responsible based off the initial analysis of the scenario." In other words, there may be other factors in the scenario that could change who is responsible for something (say the architect and engineer with the roof), but based off just the information you have been given, who would be responsible without closer analysis? Thats the best shot I've got! haha, worth a go for some pizza!
