"K/D doesn't matter" is fair, but I see some people take this too literally and not recognize that it's bad to constantly look for risky plays or overcommit instead of backing out from losing fights. Staying alive to push lanes, farm, or rotate to attack/defend objectives can be valuable, especially when respawn times are long. When/where/why your deaths happen is more important than how many you end the game with.

So many people focus way too much on KD, I’ve had people flame my ivy duo for being like 0-10 towards the end of the game when he finishes with like 25+ assists with the openings he made and like 30k healing between rescue beam and other healing. People even get mad at him for having less farm than the rest of the team when he constantly gives it up for our power houses to keep their damage up since you really don’t need too much money to keep a support viable in comparison.

this video is a gem - not many great videos on deadlock macro are out there. Please make more videos going in depth on plays and scenarios

DONT PLAY RISKY if you are losing.. secure your walkers, split push lanes and wait for the enemy team to make a mistake, then you start to regain map control, jungle camps etc. People playing risky when behind leads to more snowball and stomps.. there is no way to win team fights when you are 20k souls behind (or 10-15 AP behind) without a pristine coordination - what just happens in a tournament

I wish everyone watches this video, I'm sick of people talking shit when I don't go all the way across the map to fight and keep pushing instead. I'm low lvl and people don't get that, so I think I'll be low lvl forever, because I always get on teams like that.

you CANNOT go to eternus only with theses tips. ive been playing like this for a LONG time, and every now and then i say these exact things to teammates and all i hear is "yeah idgf" and they go back playing their way. I can make all theses things and go really well in games at general, but i just keep playing with people that are stubborn and dont understand this still a moba. Any organizes team can win a fight, if they play right with right conditions, but (at least in latin america servers) people hate to follow calls or tips. I can make HUGE difference in games with mirage and calico with ganking and agressive pushing, but at the end of the day, if my teammates decides to ignore the map and the pings i just CANT win, especially playing wtih 15 FPS...

Very good video Metro, very useful to the general population of the game. If you make content like this in the future, it would be useful to record some in game examples of some of the stuff you talk about here instead of using only drawings on a map. You definitely got your point across, but it could've been more efficiently explained using icons of characters on your diagram, or better yet video examples of these scenarios in your games. Great video once again, hope to see more educational content on this game.

And if you notice it too late she's already in a 1v1 that you pretty much know she's gonna win, is it not better to abandon the walker and use your time in another fashion like farming or pushing objective elsewhere? This is great! I'm looking forward to putting some of this into practice very soon. I'm from a Dota background and I think some of the particular macro notes for Deadlock will be very, very useful for me. Small note for presenting: swinging your mouse around on the shop while pointing things out is pretty visually distracting and doesn't help illustrate your point very well, just flashes a bunch of colors.

I really need the entire deadlock community to see tip #3 its actually such a huge problem all my games are stomps because of it, people either forgot how to play this game or maybe I'm just cursed to always play with fresh installs on my team. It's like the matches are down to how many noobs are on a team compared to the other team

As always, even if one doesn’t make mistakes and follow these tips, if there are 4-5 deadweights in your team there is no way one can win. Seen lots of games of one super tank playing very well, with good kd/a, only to lose because got the bad luck of getting paired with deadbrains.

Disagree only about protecting item ,on laning if taking to much damage and feel that can die ,in this case I look what type of damge I take and get spirit or bullet armor

You can completely outplay your opponents, take down 3 guards before the 8th minute, but there are always a couple 0/10s and 0/11s who don't want to win

I'll be honest this game even though it's basically third person shooter Dota makes less sense than Dota and I know Dota pretty well so that's saying something.

I don't get this: 3:24 You or your teammate will go and farm jungle camp after wave anyways. Shared money from the lane + jungle camp for someone and it's better for the team in general: 440 + 240

Eshift is the best defensive item hands down, its so extremely versatile. It doesn't even need to be a reactive buy, it can straight up just support your playstyle if you are frontlining for example. And it does what metalskin or debuff remover could do and more!

I come from a dota background, these are very good points and I agree with all of them. I would maybe add that this will not win you every game, but it will make you win more games over a course of hundreds of games. So prepare to get frustrated alot especially in pubs, when your teammates do not utilize the space you created for them. Trust the process, results will evnetually show. Also speaking of pubs, the best players know when to bend or break the rules. If your team is doing the stupid thing, sometimes you need to swallow your pride and join them. Especially if doing the right thing by yourself alone will cost you the game..

How much damage is worth trading your life for if you decide to push a walker? Like today I took one from about 75% to 10% or less but then died and I felt like it was a bad play.
