There's this one moment in Arcane season one where somebody (I think Jinx but I no longer remember) says "jeez" and I instantly went into a similar ramble in my head about how that means Jesus is officially confirmed to be canon in League of Legends.

Vector, Vanilla, and Cream are described as pious. There's a priest in Sonic Unleashed, and there's King solomon in Sonic Unleashed. Also, there was that one time Shadow said that he's gonna send someone to hell.

Black Doom's character designer created him to look like something that could be an object of worship. Indeed, if you compare some Masonic tapestries with the jewelry on Black Doom, the Doom's Eye pendant surrounded by gem shards pointing away with it as other celestial bodies hang below it resemble some depictions of the All-Seeing Eye with rays shining from it overlooking symbols representing the cosmos. Perhaps Black Doom sees himself as not only omniscient but also all-sovereign over the entire universe.

I know this whole thing is a big shitpost but I will say, I don't think Shadow would be tempted by the devil, if only because something similar has happened to him in the past. In Sonic 06, multiple times in the story, Mephiles tries to tempt Shadow into giving into his old behavior and taking revenge on humanity and multiple times Shadow denies him, even staying that if the whole world was against him, he'd still stay the same. I don't know about you, but I think that's a pretty solid confirmation of Shadow's confidence in his own morality. To be fair though, I don't know THAT much about Christian lore, so idk maybe Satan's got tricks up his sleeve

There is a big difference between gods in real life mythology and god bosses such as the Time Eater, the End, and especially Solaris, who are considered Gods because of their power and not because of any beliefs with the exception of solaris but solaris is the most powerful of the 3 so it doesn't matter that much. even time eater the weakest of the 3 is a multiversal being that can basically destroy all of time, the end makes time eater look like a pocket watch, and solaris is even stronger than that

Oh my lord, when I heard to look for someone in the game that looks out of place, I chuckled to myself and said Big. And then immediately after, I felt my soul leave my body as it dawned on me that Big (at least the version of him in XGens) being Satan was genuinely a plausible reason he's present in the game. And then I actually saw Big on screen, and that finished me. I just got double whiplash.

If we go by influential games why do so many of these lists neglect a game like Wc3? On its own its amazing, but just imagine how many huge genres it has spawned due to its editor.

Shadow is a Jesus like figure. If Jesus is canon in sonic then shadow is the closest artificial thing to Jesus. I don’t think he is satan at all. He is a science-fantasy type creation of a “what if mankind created someone like Jesus but in the most unexpected and interesting of ways” scenario. If Jesus is canon in sonic then shadow existing doesn’t override the existence of Jesus but both exist at the same time and perhaps Jesus would be intrigued by this artificial black hedgehog with similar goals and backstory as he does. Shadow wouldn’t view Jesus as competition or as anything bad, I’m sure shadow would be very interested in helping fulfill any order/wish given to him by Jesus if shadow was ever visited by Jesus in person.

More than likely, Christianity as a mythology exists in some form within the Sonic universe. Seeing as Black Doom has existed for at least several thousand years, ancient people might have encountered him and built the Satan archetype around him. Maybe there were others in the past, who vanquished Black Doom and cast him out to the Black Comet, perhaps even a member of the Ancients, and religions similar to Christianity were formed around this figure.

Um, human beings in the real world also say Faustian. Yes, Christianity exists as a religion in our world and maybe also in Sonic’s world but unless I’m missing something, your logic would also mean that we must also have satanic beings here on earth.

I don't think this confirms christian entities being real in Sonic, just that people believe in them and wrote stories about them. "Faustian deal/bargain" is a term people occasionally use in real life, but that doesn't prove there's a tangible Satan here. Christianity exists in Sonic, but not necessarily physical Satan

In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) we have Mephiles the Dark (named after Mephistopheles from Faust) and Iblis (named after the Islamic version of Satan). The former is a Manipulative Bastard and Consummate Liar acting like the False Prophet and the latter is a mindless destructive monster acting like the Beast of Revelation. They are revealed to be the two separated aspects of Solaris, a sun god who has the power AND desire to destroy all of existance (or at least the space-time continuum). What makes them so terrifying is that they actually succeeded in their plan even after the heroes defeated them by a Cosmic Retcon. When they first fuse back into Solaris, the initial result is a creature with 6 stones on his back, 6 claws, and 6 horn segments on his head. After 06 ended up creating a Cosmic Retcon of its own that struck it from Canon, the next closest thing to Satan in Sonic appears to be Dark Gaia. A being born before time, and an "incarnation of darkness, night and destruction". It also has a suitably demonic design, corrupts anything its energies touch, lives within the Earth's core, has control over a list monsters that attack people on the surface during the events of Sonic Unleashed, and is in a constant war of death and rebirth with Light Gaia, the Divine counter to the Demonic.
