Not my favorite kubrik film, but best King movie by far

I read Shelly died from diabetes. I'm type 2 and if you don't stay on top of it, it will wreck you. Your video is one of your most interesting in that as you are keeping with a spooky theme you veer off and talk about Shelly, The Shining, that terrific photo spoofing/spooking the twins which adds much to your content like when you did Norm and Pee Wee. Did you ever see Dinner for Schmucks where Paul Rudd gets his face caught in an elevator door and says, "I feel like I'm in The Shining." I've never seen it, too afraid. Your review has given me courage. Any thoughts on Danny's Apollo 11 sweater? Did Kubrick fake a moon landing?

For sure! I feel the same way. Shelly Is not supposed to be dead yet, neither is Shannen Doherty. I like the idea of that type of door repair. A big fan of your creative mind. Also, number 2 Thumbs up on this one.🙂🙃😉

The smoke & mirrors magic shop is cool with its spinning front windows. The "bat's pillow" looks different and fun. Michaels has some eye candy stuff.

Maybe read Gothic Violence. I'm not sure it's up your alley, but it's relatively unique. Kind of like if Hunter S Thompson preferred meth to acid.

I'll take your advice and probably bump it up near the top of my list of things to read. I tend to drag my feet when it comes to reading standard books, but I can usually get through graphic novels in a decent amount of time. Scott Pilgrim, Heartstopper, Check Please, Hooky; I got through those faster than most other things I've read in recent years

My copy of this book became so worn out that the cover eventually ripped off from looking at it so much and the spine turning to mush; which is why I no longer have it from severe wear and tear.

The way the room was interpreted in the book was way cooler. Everything from the melting and warping of the room, walls bulging into cracks shaped like mouths, the buzzing non-human voice in the telephone, the feverish sickly yellow shading of the room. I wish more of that had made it into the movie and how nauseating the nature of the room was compared to the movie. In the movie, the room still comes off as some kind of ghostly poltergeist, but in the book it is a much more alien, lovecraftian type of horror that ultimately ends up letting him escape because I guess it doesn't like cooked flesh lol? I liked how the room was immediately off before he even went inside, the tricks with the door and him noticing the camera, wondering if the security is laughing at him, wondering if he's actually going mad or if Mr.Olin simply psyched him out, eventually questioning if he was drugged only to quickly realize it's the room itself. The moment he steps into the room he immediately starts losing his sanity and initially doesn't use the minicorder as much as he is thinking irrational thoughts, and ends up not really using it often by the time things start going to hell. I enjoyed both the part where in his panic he lights up and smokes the cigarette without even realizing it, and the sounds of the room that were picked up in the minicorder. A lot more interesting than having recorded his ghost daughter's voice. I liked the movie a lot but the book is a lot more imaginative imo.

You’re exactly right this is the yr of Beetlejuice and people crying about this need to get over it! I called out the fake fans already once on here and once on TikTok I’m not doing it again I’m not a fan of posers.

Good review! Thanks for being considerate and not giving away the ending for those who haven't seen it and cool Winchester shirt! Have you seen "Lady in the Water"? By the same director. If not, I think you'd really like it. Very under appreciated in my opinion. M. Night Shyamalan is really good at taking fantastic ideas and melding them with the everyday world so they seem plausible, I really like that. "Unbreakable" is another great M. Night movie and also stars Bruce Willis. And "Signs" and "Split"... oof... he has a lot of good ones. And those DVD "ads", yeah those are good to see. I like the ones that talk about "see it like never before!!", "crystal clear digital sound!!", so we all will know the amazing virtues of this new emerging dvd technology lol...

I remember this film being very spooky and incredibly suspenseful with one of the greatest twist endings I've ever seen! You do awesome job breaking this one down and leaving the ending for the viewer! Keep up the good work!!

You say it's mostly fiction but I tell ya, I tell ya what, I tell ya he was an old chunk a coal and he was spiteful. Oh, he was so spiteful his doctor, who's not a very nice man, told him to open his mouth and say 'oink'. Sure, Norm occasionally would spin a yarn but I believe every word of what was written. Especially about that fella Adam Egret.

Just found your channel today. I already love you because you love Norm. That's pretty much all it takes. Have you listened to the audiobook yet? I've listened to it literally over 10 times. His reading of it really takes the prose to the next level. One of my favorite books, my favorite audiobook, by the greatest comedian who's ever lived.
