What a beautiful, sweet video. Thank you for sharing this process, your deep friendship, and memories of your family and Korea. I started harvesting mugwort this year and drying it to make tea and face wash. I will try roasting it multiple times and see how that goes! This must be how you get those beautiful, round tea cakes. Korean culture and language are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I'm grateful to be part of this wonderful community keeping herbal medicine alive. ❤ Love from Egypt.

Hello, can you address chestnuts? I heard the soup is wonderful- how to find them and cook them. The elders in my family looked for black walnuts down in the south United States. They look entirely different from commercial walnuts and had a stronger taste.

It's bitter! But I'm wondering if their preparation lessens that bitterness. I'm thinking of trying this method, rather than hanging to dry.

I have never made tea this way. I usually clean the leaves, then steam them to reduce the bitterness, and dry them in my oven. I just tried this method today. I have a lot of questions about how long you dehydrate and roast each time.

People in the United States tend to not differentiate between Mugwort and Wormwood, which are different species of Artemisia. Wormwood, used in the making of absinthe, is considered somewhat risky to consume and is mistakenly associated with hallucinations. It doesn't cause hallucinations, but it does contain a compound that can cause convulsions with too high of a dose. Mugwort is considered harmless, and is drunk by many here before bed, because it can lead to clear and pleasant dreaming. Because some people get the two species confused and may use the names interchangeably, it has led to a lot of confusion about the safety of Artemisia Vulgaris L., common mugwort.

Try American cheese from the deli section of the supermarket. The cheese they cut right in front of you not wrapped in plastic has better flavor and is normally made with natural ingredients. The one in plastic is not so good. But everyone is different. I grew up with real cheese and cannot eat that wrapped in plastic one. Thanks for the video, I will have to try it with the egg & cheese. I usually use more water, since too salty. Your English is fine. As an American born, only speak english , I find I sometimes have trouble with words.
