Hey quick question I just watched "The BEST Sports Videographer Gear Setup " video on your youtube page and noticed that you use the Canon 80D. I know the camera cant shoot in Log as I have the 90D. What do you use in post production to make the footage look good? Or did you pay the 99$ for them to install CLog?

Hey I’ve used anything from a 70-150 and 100-200 lense for sports and I want more zoom and more up close look on a person for example lacrosse I want to see up close to there face from the sideline get a more cinematographic and zoomed shot becuse that’s what I enjoy for video then cut for some up close action I was wondering if I should get a 400 lense or something in the 600s

When you crash zoom w the Tamron (during basketball) from 150 back to 35 for example... do you lose the focus? or does the focus hunts? I am thinking between the 35-150 or the 70-200 GM II for my FX3 and A7IV. I like the versatility of the 35-150 better, but I am not completely sold on the focus and the missing OSS. Also do you find the 70-200 too tight for indoor sports? (basketball) I would really appreciate the help. I shoot mostly events, but I am trying to get into sport videography, specifically basketball since that's what I played.

I been getting into video and i been using my a7iv for most of it but occasionally i will use my a7rv. I have been testing out the Pergear CfExpress Type A cards 260gb in size for $190 a piece and have had great success with them. So I bought two more of them and I bet you I have over 50 photo shoots and a good 10 hours of video ran through them and not a hiccup. I do use the Sony card reader the same one you have. I've learned in the past the cheaper ones break might as well buy the good ones they hold up for a long time. But I've been using the Tamron 35-150 f2.8 and I'm really impressed with how good the focusing is with capturing the racers going by at the ATV and dirt bike races I go to. But when I want to do some nice up close footage I've been using the sigma 85mm f1.4 dg dn But I've been using the Ifootage monopod when I'm not doing handheld. But if I continue to do more video work I think I'm going to upgrade to the fx6 if I can find a nice second hand one. Great video by the way I know it's a year old but it's very helpful

I use Final Cut Pro but if I need to edit something really fast… “Filmora” is my go to. It’s really easy it’s like Final Cut Pro with templates lol. It’s a cheat code really. I would refer that to anybody that’s just starting out.

The loss of focus is because of focus breathing. You'd need a parfocal video lens to avoid this. Problem is they're *expensive*, presumably as they're difficult to make. Video-specific lenses (like B4 lenses for ENG cameras for example) are parfocal. Most (if not all) fixed-lens camcorders will also contain a parfocal lens.
