A helpful video guide to changing the clutch on your Hyundai Sonata AC compressor. Need any help send me an email adamschris999@gmail.com
Great video, I learnt a lot thanks mate!
Site is down. Haven't you ever rewound the coil? Why buy new?
I managed to replace my AC clutch today because of your video. The inner circlip/snap ring was tricky! Thanks.
mine got shorted 2 days after replace reason: improper alignment, spacing & clips seating led coil shorted by rubbing clutch this job is harder than i thought
wow best video thanks
Good video,proper details.thanks.
Hey buddy need help… what is the part you are sanding call? I need to replace it because my A/c clutch rubbed against it and damaged it… Thank in advance.
A small c clamp is the easiest way I've found to keep the plate from spinning when you take the nut off.
Does it have a low pressure switch on the compressor.
Great video do you sell a clutch kit for a 2013 Sonota ? The clutch is locked in engaged position and never dis engages
What year RAM is this?
The clutch plate is a 2 piece assemble held together by the 3 moulded rubber material.
I have a noise and the air conditioner is very cold, but I suffer from noise, it is very annoying. Do I just change the coil or what 😭
Great video! What device did you use for the 12V testing?
Can you drive without the clutch on the compressor? Will the snap ring hold the pulley on?
Good tutorial but you forget to mention that a thermal protection is installed on the body of the compressor (two red wires). This part is sometimes the cause of the trouble by switching the positive off without overheat.
Is your website down? the link on the web doesn’t work I’m trying to buy a kit but won’t allow me …. Any comments ?
In your experience is coil failure common? Do you see coils that are open and show no resistance? Have a Senada that looks that way I haven’t gotten down to the compressor to check the connector and leads yet. Is it impossible to change the coil without removing the compressor from the vehicle?
Good video, going to do my wife's 2006 in a few days. Just wanted to point out that those ridges on the shaft are not a gear, they are splines, used to allow the clutch plate to slide in and out on the shaft, but not rotate relative to it. Without them, the clutch plate wouldn't be able to turn the compressor shaft even when engaged by the magnet.
This is exactly how videos is done nice and clear
If my compressor is leaking in the shaft , can I replace the shaft gasket and re install the compressor or should I just replace the whole compressor?
Good
Wow 👏... very good video, best one imo
My 04 v6 4Runner ac pulley started to squeak. Clutch seems to be working fine so I’m assuming it’s the clutch going out or the bearing. Do these kits include the bearing?
How hard is this project to do when the compressor is still attached to the engine block? How do you tap the back of the pulley to remove it?
Every video I've seen of people doing this show that there is not enough clearance to get the main clutch body off through the wheel well without removing the compressor mounting bolts. You can leave the refrigerant supply connected but when you remove those bolts (four I believe) you can twist the compressor a bit to aim it more to the opening. I would advise against just letting the compressor hang from the refrigerant tubes, rest it on something underneath.
great tutorial! very detailed and very well explained.
You just made is 100 percent easier thanks alot
How do you get information on the right amount of shims most kits come with 3 ,I have a eco diesel curious on the gapping !!
Thank you!
So because of the engage mechanism the pulley is a little bit loose in an ac right ? You can se it woogling just a little bit right ? Just making sure that is normal.
My man! God bless you!No words to thank you. Just subscribe now.
Can I barrow someone's 10mm socket for this?
I am looking for AC Clutch for Honda Civic 2008 1.8L on your website but it is showing me 2008 Honda Civic 4 CYL 2.0L, I am not sure, Can you help please
Would this model fit a honda civic 2008 1.8l 4C?
Danny, I hope you're well. This looks like your last video, done a year ago. Having made a few instructional videos myself, I appreciate why you might have decided to stop. So much work! That said, you did a great job. One of the better how to's I've watched. Not overly wordy, but with assisted instruction and description. Very nice.
Mine has been making noise for a while but the compressor has been working well. Pulled off the clutch and the input shaft bearing is very worn out, I can wiggle the input shaft and can almost pull out the bearing with a snap ring pick but not quite. Any ideas on how to yank this sucker out? I can buy a 10 pack of bearing on amazon for $10, number is 6001-2RS.
Will the AC clutch visually spin when it engages?
Yes and you'll hear a click when they snap together. Engine rpm might change/rev up.
That's cool. My a/c light blinks, changed clutch relay, no luck. How would u read 12 volts at the terminal? Did u mean ohms?
Mine makes a racket when its on. Its a 2002 civic 1.6L, I cant find a clutch kit anywhere for it, they all seem to be 1.7, 1.8 and 2.0l
Search ebay and include 1.6L.
Genial amigo 😎
Wow - this is fantastic. I wish every TH-cam video that teaches you how to do something was like this. Outstanding.
Good tutorial and clear instructions.👍 I removed a shim to reduce the air gap after experienced intermitent cold/hot air flow for my car, (Without removing the compressor). Honda civic magnetic clutch air gap, recommends 0.35mm to 0.65mm (about 0.014" to 0.024").
nice
This deserves an award. What a great teacher! ☺
Could I do this without taking out the compressor?
Is the bearing can be replaced.if we have problem with bearing...or it has beenbuild and pressed with pully already??
Best tutorial,...
The Achilles heel of these compressors. Had failures three times on my current truck
Very nicely done. I feel even more confident as I'm going to be doing this during the weekend.
Great Tutorial!
