Really helps this is my schools first year of FTC with no robotics experience yet we still got 3 in the tournament
How do you code the arm so it holds position without being affected by gravity?
You can set the motor to brake or you can use encoders and have it set to run to its current position if a button is pressed so it stays there as long as your motor has enough torque
I very much appreciate the starter robot guide! Without it, I'm not sure our team would have been able to field a working robot this season.
love the breakdown of your code and I learned some more things as i am going into year 2 of FTC , ChicagoTBD
Can you use a pot to control the motor also?
Are there any instructions for this?
Excellent vidéo. Very helpful!
How did you get it to hang?
gear ratio and low rpm motor probably
@@MaxisRonaldo using a 117 rpm motor on the arm
Good thing I’m a builder
When I was a programmer I'd pretty much copy code and change two things 😂
Perhaps this is a silly question but can you place this on a switch (ISO of a dial)? I have a custom landing gear rig where I'd like to better control the travel but still want it on your typical LG switch.
I did not get the part where it says that driverail update helped the extension limit. How come? The viper slide is on the 17 hole arm rail.
where are the belt clamps ethan 🤬🤬
How do you mount the motors veritcal without the top of the gear being blocked by the motor screws?
Thanks for posting this video, very helpful. However, we are having trouble building the arm extension. Do you have instructions to build the arm extension?
4:18 But we should be able to also control the motor spinning direction from the Arduino as well, through the motor driver, right? Or, at this point of the video, were you speaking strictly about how the motor works stand-alone, without involvement of software control through drivers?
2 minutes in and my eye is beginning to feel like it needs help
mmmm coils n springs
Is there a link for the sign holder stl they mentioned? 2:46:15
What did you use to mount the team number? Parts/materials/process?
Very helpful, nice teaching.

Ive been trying for so long to get my robot to hang from the high rung, and these geniuses just say "i dunno"
Ethan can you please do a video for a 2 stage linear slide? It has a different build compared to the 4-stage.
how many kilos can it lift?
Where is the instruction manual
Bro does everyone not do this all our teams have been doing this
What parts were used to mount 32mm omni wheels to intake assembly?
Hi
Oren Union
Hello, which 5203 motor is the perfect balance between speed and torque? I know it’s very subjective but the current motors we have (5203/312RPM) are excellent but we’d like to replace them on our crawlers to make them faster, with higher rpm motors but without sacrificing too much torque:-)
I wonder how many people are going to be able to do level two hang. It’s gonna be one heck of a challenge for design
Do you mean level 3? Level 1 is just touching the low rung, Level 2 is hanging from the low rung and Level 3 is hanging from the high rung and staying above the low rung

How would I assemble this using the steel clamps instead of the plastic ones?
Thanks project peacock Newton busters from worlds see you there again
Can you please explain how the belt drive works a little bit more detailed? I researched but I couldn't find any examples.
wdym? like how it extends the arm? there is a part of the belt that is anchored on the arm so when the motor pulls it "pulls" out the arm. the kit is the viper slide on goBILDAs website
