07 through 13 Toyota Tundra transfer case actuator timing and Info
Just a quick video to hopefully help you with the 4x4 issue with your 2007 to 2013 tundra.

I sell the electric motors to replace the rusty ones on ebay for 109.95. Just search "2007-2013 Toyota TUNDRA T-Case Actuator Motor"
The rod only moved a fraction and was basically locked up 1/2 way across inside box. Just left it where it was, plugged in the actuator without installing. Then turned truck on and could hear the actuator move. Turned the dial to 4hi and heard the actuator move and immediately turned the truck off, freezing the actuator in what ever position the 4hi was. Unplugged the actuator, flipped it right side up and installed. Started my truck and it immediately went into 4hi. Switched it back and forth from 4hi to 2hi and everything seemed working fine. Went on drive and did same to make sure all was good. This vid helped but just couldn’t get the timing set. Spent hours messing with the actuator gears and re-installing probably 8-9 times. Was about to give up until I tried Putting it into 4hi instead of 2 hi to get the actuator gears timed right. Worked immediately
This exact method didnt work for me, but led me in the direction that did. I tried for several hours to get the timing set correct on the new actuator and was about to give up. I noticed that the rod was out just over 1/2 way and would only jiggle a little. I certainly couldn’t move it back or forward but according to everywhere I looked, the rod pushed all the way back is 2W and forward is 4hi. My truck runs fine in 2W but wont engage 4hi. So I did what you did in this video by plugging the actuator in but not installing it. Turned the key to aux and flipped the lever to 4hi. The actuator moved into place and I immediately turned the car off keeping the actuator from moving anymore. Went underneath, carefully unplugged it, flipped it around and installed it very carefully to keep everything as it is. Plugged it back in and then turned truck to aux. The 4hi came on immediately and stayed on. Turned it to 2W and the 4hi light went out. Could hear the actuator motor engage each time. Then started the truck and repeated everything. Then drove down the road and repeated everything. Engaged and disengaged perfectly with no hiccups. So if the steel crankshaft rod is 1/2 way out and basically wont move much either direction, try this method and maybe get lucky like me. I did try putting the truck in neutral to see if the rod would move but no luck on that. Good luck !!!
Can you clarify the steps. Did you pull the rod out to put it into 4wd and then also clocked the actuator to 4wd? Then you reassembled, turned on the truck (in 4hi) and then switched to 2wd allowing the actuator to reset into the position with pushing in the rod to do so.
Thank you
I did exactly what is in video but mine still not working 4 h still flashing. What should I do next.
Very nice information and explenatiom
Your timing thing worked! But how do I keep the gear in place when I flip the sucker upside down?
I am stuck in Neutral after replacing my TCA, any ideas?
Great video! Do one for your horn setup- that looks pretty slick.
awesome thank you so much
Thanks for the great explanation
Do they all have a vacuum line down I didn't see what on my truck
What position should the rods be in? All the way in pr all the way out?
Trying to figure this out. Did you have any luck?
Same here.. he didnt show or explain the position if the rod.
You literally saved my life with your timing trick. Thank you so much. If you don’t get the timing right your truck won’t be able to drive.
Help, I have that issue
Take those train horns out of there. Don’t be one of those tools.
Hey can a bad actuator motor cause your transfer case to make a noise? My 4 high and 4 low are flashing and I can’t shift without shutting the truck off
I dont have that problem but i do have . Once in a while my 4low / Vsc light comes on flashing making truck go into 4lo when its on 2wd ..
I have an 08 Sequoia, taking a run at this tomorrow!
How did it go?
@@carlosaircraftmechxnic2819 still haven't gotten to it...found a coolant leak, traced it to the water pump so been tackling that job. The actuator for 4wd is hopefully next!
mine failed today. A little tap got it going again for mow!
Awesome vid man. 1 question. To set the actuated back to 2hi you turn the key to accessory. But my truck is stuck in 4 hi so would I do the accessory with the switch in 4hi??
Great video
Do you know the part number/ name for the 4w high motor, you had? I can not find the part you had, and I can only find the entire Transfer chase shift motor.
hey man watched your vid twice to give you some props, I did this to both HI/LO to reset them I"m back in business.
What is the part number for transfer case actuator? Toyota lists a totally different part . Can’t find anywhere. If you could help that would be awesome!!!
Has anyone done it like this and it worked? I'm not having any luck.
I had to turn my key to "ON" instead of accessory but it worked fine in the "on" position.
how do you"adjust" the spring tension? anyone?
Hey Jr.! great video. do you recall the position of the actuator arm in the body of the actuator? Thanks!

Thanks man. That is a vent hose, not a vacuum line.
how did you get the phillips screws out? Mine are in there super tight cant get them to budge.
Having same issue did u manage to get the top one out?
Lovely horn setup
