that’s correct, it should not be screened! 🥴
Someone get that lady out
why so scare get on it dont be afraid
Cant believe that is a ventless system. wow. the part description says its vented.
That was a great video thanks. No idea how I was gonna install that strip before I put the molding up good now thanks again again
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
It would be helpful to understand why all the drywall is torn our around the window. It's assuming prior knowledge that those arriving at the video would understand why someone tore out all the drywall before adding the trim.
Seems like $100 worth if parts for $1000. Why not just use a sprinkler controller and a sprinkler valve. Couldn't you just set it to fill for let's say 2 hours per week and save $900
It would have been more helpful if you had shown us each step you did as you did it.
Great finish
Thank you!
What kind of paint you applied first and the last paint coating, what paint
We used Ramuc AcryLuster Acrylic paint. It was self-priming, so put two coats on.
My lord. I googled install starter molding and didn’t realize how easy this was: thanks for the video. 🙌🏽
You’re welcome! Glad it helped!
First time seeing your channel. Did this pool lack the bonding wire/system, and you're adding a new one? Thanks!
I did not find any trace of a bonding grid when I removed the old equipment, plumbing, ladder anchors, light, and diving board.
@WoodmereEstateRevival Understand. Glad you're getting that installed. Thanks for the reply!
Hey, thank you for the video but what was hanging down over the fireplace when it was lit
Thanks for watching! That is the decorative handle on our damper.
What do you use to attach your side panels to the front finished piece that face outward toward the front of the fridge?
We used cabinet screws through the frame face into the side panel. Also, we attached cleats to the floor and wall behind the side panel and then screwed through them into the panel. That holds the panel very securely.
What paint did you use on the brick?
I believe we used Krylon High Heat Max in flat black.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Hi Guys!!! I was loosing faith.. I was thinking the boys may be driving by now hahah Thanks for the video.. its looking so nice.. and I bet today so much has been done.. Would love to see more..
Hi Rich! Our oldest is driving now! We haven’t had much time to add to the channel lately, but I am determined to start posting regularly again! Hope y’all are well!
@@WoodmereEstateRevival would love to stop down next summer..
Hi... Do you have to cut anything on the floor to allow ventilation (air out) for the oven on the island?
No, since it is designed as a wall/island oven, it vents out of the front.
@@WoodmereEstateRevival Thanks for the response
Crown molding seam right in your face. Next time go all the way to your right side so you don’t see it son.
Thanks, dad lol
Did you cut in your vents for fresh airing? And also did you alter while you had to have altered your flu pipe to the atmosphere? Seems to make it so simple. I don’t think you know what you are quite doing. If you’re in Australia they would condemn you for that.
Hi Paul. These are ventless gas logs. You’re thinking of vented gas logs, which require a special vent from the outside for fresh air and exhaust. Ventless logs work in an existing masonry fireplace, and they use air from the house to burn and a working flue to exhaust the combustion gasses.
How did cutting out the drywall in the ceiling pass code? Why not patch the drywall, looks like you have room. Down here sewer lines can not run through a kitchen.
How did the fittings hold compared to a typical mortar back fill?
I'm considering this for a pool build of my own, thank you!
They actually worked great. The biggest challenge was using that giant core drill on scaffolding in the deep end. We only had one of the four fittings leak. The mounting flange on the inside of the pool cracked so I had to get a new flange, disassemble it, and then reassemble it with more teflon paste on the threads.
I like to see the f pool
👍🏻
Your videos would be so much more enjoyable if you would turn your cell phone sideways!
Thanks, Danny. I was a TH-cam newb back then. I learned later on to start filming in landscape.
Wet saw woulda kept all that dust out..... Good grief!
Great video, thanks
Glad you liked it!
Do you have any suggestions for scaffolding for deep end without a ledge?
That’s a tricky one. You might try calling a local scaffolding supplier and see if they have any recommendations. Otherwise you may have to build your own and use some diagonal bracing to support the edges.
Great video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it! Thank you!
Would you eventually do pebble sheen in the pool?
We looked at several pebble type finishes, but eventually went with a spray in fiberglass finish. We’re really happy with it.
Looks cheap and fake. This video is yet another testimony as to why woodburning fireplaces are superior.
Thanks for your feedback. It looks better with some more “wood” chunks and coals around it now as well as a screen and brass fireplace fence. We have a wood burning fireplace in the living room and enjoy building fires in it regularly, but it is very nice to be able to come home from work and hit the button for a fire.
How long has it lasted
We got about 3 years out of it before it started blistering and peeling.
What model wall oven is that?
I have a similar gas fireplace in my house. The problem is that when we use it, it emits a gas odor (with no gas leak). Should I consider installing a glass cover?
Thanks for the question! When you say gas odor, do you mean the mercaptan smell in unburnt gas or the combustion smell of burnt gas? If it’s the mercaptan, then that could indicate a leak in the burner assembly that’s allowing some gas to escape without combustion. If it’s the smell of combusted gas, then you may not have an adequate draft in your flue to carry the combustion gasses up the chimney. If your unit is meant to be vented, then the damper needs to be at least partially open to provide adequate ventilation. Find the manufacturer and model number for your unit and get a manual from the manufacturer’s website. I wouldn’t burn it until you confirm proper operation. Many local gas utilities will come inspect gas appliances for free. We had our gas company check out our installation.
what did you use for pool plaster repair? great videos!
Thank you! We followed the instructions on Swimming Pool Steve’s website and they worked great! www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/pool-plaster.html
You continue doing amazing work on this project! I'm curious how / why you decided to go with a Hayward automation system rather than some of the other popular brands (Jandy, Pentair)? Also, after watching one of your previous videos, I added the Jandy water leveling system into my own pool renovation project. Have you experienced any interface trouble running a Jandy component from a Hayward automation system? Thanks!
Thank you! We did some research on pool automation systems and the Hayward system seemed to fit our needs well. Our Jandy water fill is standalone and does not interface with the Hayward system.
Thanks for the reply!!@@WoodmereEstateRevival
What is the color name of the blue cabinet? It’s gorgeous!
Well done this looks amazing thanks for the help - I’m about to paint my pool. How has the paint lasted after 2 years? Thanks - Dan
Thanks, Dan! It was quite the job. Our paint lasted about 3 years before it started bubbling. We ended up having a company come in and apply a fiberglass coating on the concrete. It’s doing great and should last us another 15 years.
Just take it off you don’t need it
We ended up taking it off about a month after I published this video. No squirrels in the dryer so far!
doesn't the exposed romex wire need to be encased in a metal conduit?
No, because the oven is a no/low clearance design.
Hi Guys, Missed You! Love the video.. Hope to see some more.. You give my wife and I so many Ideas that we have used in updating our house
Happy New Year, Rich! I’m going to be posting more regularly this year. Stay tuned!
Very nice slate floor
Thank you!
Dear god.
Go ahead. He’s listening.
Can I use steam mop to clean slate floor?
Steam mops are typically not recommended for natural stone surfaces. There are a number of cleaners and sealers out there for natural stone. I would go that route instead.
What a waste. Reviving a room can take place by painting, adding tile and purchasing a gas fireplace insert.
That’s your opinion, and I respect that, but we didn’t care for the late 60’s, early 70’s style in a southern colonial house. Be sure to watch the wrap up episode showing the open hearth design with the handmade poplar surround and a gas insert.
Terrible video learned absolutely nothing I could’ve built a fireplace by the time you got through it.
Any idea what it means when the “filling” light is red instead of green?
That’s the safety lockout light. That means the system filled the pool up to the prescribed maximum time and it won’t fill again until 24hrs has passed and the lockout resets. You can lengthen the lockout time if you like. Here’s the manual that describes how to do that: images.inyopools.com/cloud/documents/levolor-manual.pdf
Do these wall ovens require any clearance on the bottom of it ?
It’s very minimal. The overlap is small so you have to get your opening exact.
Awesome video! Lots of great ideas. Fast forward was my friend here though. ☺️
Hahaha glad you liked it!
What part of WV?
