UPDATE: Cherry seed germinating fast in just 3 days
An arborist told me it takes 7+ year for an avocado to bear fruit from a seed I'm on year 8 and no avocados yet ?😮
Thanks
doing this as a high schooler so i can get mangoes when i have my own house one day :)
unfortunately i have a brown thumb so it might not go too well but it's worth a shot
When peach trees grow from seed, should they be pollinated? No flower will actually turn into a fruit. Hope you tell. |
Quick tip; to get those pesky harmful bugs off your saplings, i recommend diatomaceous earth
The plant needs to dry out in between watering
If you sprinkle some cinnamon on the seeds it will keep the paper towel from molding as cinnamon is a natural antifungal.
Is this safe for all house plants? I have a few prayer plants and a monstera
Yes. This is my go-to mix for all of my plants. Never had any issues. Just be mindful not to do it in direct sunlight because it could burn your plants.
Hi there, when you have the seed in the bag do you keep in the dark in a drawer or just anywhere?
Any dark place will do.
I grew a peach tree from seed. It is about 2 years old now or less. It is already about 4 ft tall. However, I live in the true tropics so I don't expect it to fruit but I am ever hopeful it might adapt or we might discover a way to make it adapt.
Nice! I hope you can find a way to make it adapt. If you find a way to mimic the cold period let me know. I'd be interested to know how you did it in the tropics!
Ew it kind of look yucky like I’m a girl so this what my cousins say and they are a girl so they say mother ew what is that and I don’t do bugs
Have you tried to peel them white, before germinating? It usually helps against rotting, in my experience.
Yeah, they just rotted.
Do you store the mango seed in a dark warm place ? or a dark qark place ?
Just a dark place like a drawer or something.
Just the stuff collected from the floor
FYI, use distilled water if feasible. The mineral build up from tap water will eventually break the humidifier . Don't ask me how I know.
Lol good tip! Thanks!
Solution for rotting, cinnomon sprinkle before putting them in the paper towel
Fantastic! Thank you so much.
Why do you make your own potting soil with all that organic input if you’re just gonna use miracle grow later on.
Because that organic matter is going to take a lot longer and slower to break down. I used the plant food so it could absorb nutrients right then at the time.
I placed my seed in a plant terrarium; for now, it seems pretty happy!
Interesting! Let me know how that goes!
I have one that I’m trimming down, I’ll keep you posted when I have the before during and after stuff. 👍
Thanks!
starting a peach tree this morning for my indoor garden! so far my apple and citrus trees are doing great so i fifure why not go all out lol 😅. Great video! 💯😊
Thank you! Good luck with your peach tree! And the rest of your fruit trees! I hope you get lots of growth and good fruits!
@vesgardens thanks 👍 been at cool side of room temperature and it's showing some signs of germination so warming it up and putting it under the grow lights with the rest of my garden for the winter! 🏡
No matter how many times i try this paper towel method it always grows mould and destroys the seed just as it first starts growing roots
How wet is the paper towel? Plant it in soil as soon as you see roots starting to form.
This is great! You're the only person on TH-cam who I could find who did this! How many days did it take for the cuttings to grow leaves? Did it take a while?
Thank you! I honestly don't remember. I want to say a couple weeks but I could be wrong. Now I'm thinking about trying this again!
@@vesgardens That be great! It would be a very interesting video! I just got a few to grow leaves they might have taken about two weeks but there was a lot of growth happening in the roots before the leaves showed up.
@Rocky-cc4uz that sounds about right. Are you growing indoors or outdoors?
@@vesgardens I am growing indoors :) Kept the soil moist and used a grow light on 16 hours. The more light the faster the growth.
@Rocky-cc4uz good to know! Thanks! I think I've tried growing indoors and it didn't work for me at all.
Cold strat is just a more sure fire way to get them to germ. Also check out “light warrior” for seedlings. Toss in some 4-4-4 and worm poo(couple tbspn) and mix, also you can sprinkle mychorizae powder to help germ
Oh, thanks for the tip!
So where do you keep the bag with the seed in it? You skipped that step
In a dark place like a drawer, pantry, cabinet, under the bed, etc.
Great complete step by step video for growing a mango tree.
Thank you!
I heard a bit of cinnamon powder prevents the molding
Where do I store the seed while I'm the baggy?
I keep them in a dark place like a drawer, under the bed or something.
Can soil mites also attack indoor areas like tiles, walls, etc. I've seen something similar invading my entire bathroom and crawling all over my product bottles. They look like termites but look more similar to soil mites and no expert is able to identify what these are. What can I do?
I've never read anything about soil mites doing that. They feed on organic matter, so that seems unusual to me. If you can get a good, clear close up picture of them do a Google image search and see what pops up.
Thank you. Attempting to germinate mango seeds in Idaho, USA.
I hope your mango seeds germinate!
when to germinate peach pit
I germinate them at anytime, but fall/early winter, spring
Not 5 freakin years? Already frustrated with my soursop plant which is taking its sweet time.
I've tried growing soursop too and it was so slow to grow! Time flies though!
you Did a Goog JoB
I tried this method...Mine turned into compost 😢
@@KP-lw3fh compost is good too! Try again!
Amazing video but do i have to keep the seed soaked everyday until i see the little root? 0:59
@@AhmedMarghalani-o4y only if the paper towel is dry.
I will get a mango tree if it’s the last thing I do
Omg I searched through a bunch of nonsense to finally find your video. It was worth it Thank you!!
Glad it helped!
I have plant a mango
You can do the same with potatoes (that have the little root thing on the end) just chuck em in the dirt and wallah
This is an EXCELLENT video!
Thank you!
Thank you for making this video,My teacher gave this as a project
Good luck with your project!
Great video
Thank you!
Do you have to peel the seeds
No.
And now I know! LOL! I thought the pit was the seed. I have saved 3 pits and now I am hopeful to get the seeds. Thanks for this and Be Groovy!
Lol I used to think that too! Hope you get lots of growth!
Where my juice at😂
Word.
Awesome!; that’s how I got apple tree drew from a seed
Nice! How's it doing now? Any apples?
@@vesgardens I got the seeds from apples an input them on a paper towel that’s wet a put it in a closed jar a wait til it sprouts. If the paper Towel dries out add drips of water.
9:15 Most Lemons, Oranges and Grapefruits are highly polyembryonic, that means 1 seed bears normally several Seedling plants. The (only in the beginning) weaker ones normally are of hybrid origin, while the one that is most vigourious normally grows true to type! Greetings from Germany!
Thanks for this!
While waiting for the fruit you could use some leaves to make tea. It is medicinal. Look it up!
Thanks for the tip!
3 months back I will put in the tissue place in fridge but now seeds will be not germinated
Some don't germinate and sometimes they can take a lot longer too.
