Harry Anderson famously did this trick on SNL in the US before his Night Court days. "I'm not really bleeding! It's a trick!", he'd say, wiggling the skewers and causing more "blood" to flow, as the audience shrieked.

In his own words, Derren Brown fuses magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship. Given this is a known magic trick and that the camera suspiciously didn't show the needles penetrating the skin, it's pretty obvious this one is magic and a liberal helping of showmanship. I don't think that makes it worse; he builds up the creepy pretty masterfully with the location and the crucifix position and the choice of morbid nursery rhyme. It looks like a scene from a horror movie.

This video is evil. Shame on Derren. I don't watch the devil work. I'm happy I blocked him from manipulating me.

When I started watching Derren's shows, I found him to be entertaining and thought he was a cool person. Then the more you watch him, the more you start sensing his energy and his energy is very dark. Dark souls can manipulate people and alot of them do it as a profession. But don't take my word for it. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Derren doesn't actually use hypnosis at all on Robbie. It's actually a trick that magicains usually do to themselves. The liquid that Derren rubben on Robbies arms was actually a type of rubbery cement. So all Derren has to do is put the needle against his arms and pinch the skin over the needles. As for the blood, that is contained in the black ball on the end of the needles.

@thechadzilla he did another trick where he puts a needle through a guy after he hypnotizes him, the needle went through and he didn't feel a thing except a drop of blood. But it couldn't be fake cause he had a scar left on his arm after the trick.

Because of some reason I think this is Needle Through Arm as in the magic trick. Because first of all: if it would have been real, at least in a controlled setting like this, the needle would have been sterilized in an autoclave and sealed in plastic. (I've gotten temporary "extreme" piercings before and they all were) And second, I'd expect Robin to sue channel 4 for this if it was real.

aaaaaaaaaany way....here's the explanation for people in the dark you can find the needle trick explained by searching "needle through arm explained" (bloody thing won't let me post links in here :/ so no hypnosis or anything >_> as to the point of the video... His arms weren't actualy penetrated, but when he saw the needles "in" his arms he felt like they were...hence the show's name Trick Of The Mind but it was really kinda pointless since he didn't even explain the basic part

This is a classic magic trick. The measked magician explained how it is done (can find in on YT). The needle doesn't even go into his skin. and the fake blood is at the bottom of the needle - see how he squeezes it to get it out, there's a tiny hole in the middle of the needle. As i said if you don't believe me search on YT.
