Scarred landscape of Tanjung Kupang
Here we are in the tranquil rural setting of Tanjung Kupang, where state and federal governments are making enormous efforts to turn this development called Forest City, into a success. Yet, controversy surrounds this development targeted for high-yield foreigners, as it stands accused of being nothing more than a ghost town, with little occupancy in its residential and commercial units.
Despite this, the area enjoys special treatment as a Special Financial Zone. This zone boasts Malaysia's first zero-tax family office zone and offers a 20-year corporate tax exemption, attracting financial institutions and investors from around the world. This influx is accelerating Forest City’s financial sector development or so it is claimed.
