The tech mentions what to look for to avoid total failure from your drive as well as some tips you can do for a smoother disassembly experience. Please Note, that the drives may have some differences depending on the Brand. Regardless the Drive Motor is from Rexroth so the disassembly will be very similar if not the same for all versions. Quick Troubleshooting Tips: 1. Bowl side down on brake piston spring. 2. Coil snap ring installs without issue above brake piston. a. If the snap ring does not install easily check to make sure groove is clear of debris - if still not installing properly the brake piston may be installed wrong or cockeyed at an angle 3. Shims, if any go at the bottom (next to the spacer), once all brake disks are placed into position the last brake disk should flush with the housing no higher or lower. (a tiny bit either way is fine but not any bigger than the thickness of a single brake disk) a. If the brake disks end above or below the top of the housing there is a problem with either the brake disks (warped from heat or extended use) or brake piston 4. Center all outer brake disks square with each other as well as centered from either side of the housing. 5. When both housings are put together the face seals should always make contact before pressing the bearings into place. If there is a gap between the face seals, the brake pack is misaligned and is catching on the outer housing - if bearings are pressed in before the disks are aligned properly the brake disks will be broken or bent.

      -Clean Threads -Apply oil to threads -Rotate housing as you tighten AND tap the flange with a ball peen hammer (at times there are scars on the housing stopping the bearings from seating properly and this helps seat all the races) -Torque to 220-225 ft lbs. -Hammer smack, check torque again, repeat till holds 225 ft lbs.

    I have a deere 333d early serial break and I am wondering what the torque specs are for the main nut that u guys use and the bearing drag process. I have the service manual but it doesn't give specifics on the rexroth gearbox it only say not serviceable but it does say the specs for the later serial break. I used those the first time so I was just wondering ur process and specs.

    • @CRComponents
      @CRComponents 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Rexroth factory instructions state: -Clean Threads -Apply oil to threads -Rotate ring gear as you tighten -Torque to 147.5 ft lbs -Wait 5 seconds for setting of thread -Tighten nut to 147.5 again -Be sure it does not rotate more than 7 degrees more, if so repeat. -Tighten nut another 51 degrees. -Install nut pins We do it a little different because everything is not factory new all the time. -Oil bearings and Nut thread -Rotate housing as you tighten AND tap the flange with a ball peen hammer (at times there are scars on the housing stopping the bearings from seating properly and this helps seat all the races) -Torque to 225 ft lbs. -Hammer smack, check torque again, repeat till holds 225 ft lbs. -Don't forget nut pins -Smile and wave

      @@CRComponents alright thanks, you guys are awesome. That is quite different than what is stated in the service manual for the later serial break but had no other info to work with and while I did get 2000 hours out of that seal compared to the 1000 out of the factory one I was alright with that. Great Question! Look into courses or information on Radial Piston drive motors, that is the specific type of this drive motor. There is Axial piston motors and pumps which are much more common and some of the concepts overlap but they are completely different in how they operate. We do all our own training here on the specifics of each type of drive.

    Doesn't the short nose drive have the external outer bearing allen drain bolt on the outside where the long nose has 2 drain/fill bolts behind the sprocket flange? Another way to ID between the two with the tracks still installed

    • @CRComponents
      @CRComponents 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point! If you walk up to the machine and measure from the inside teeth side of the sprocket it is 3" to the outside for a SHORT Nose. 4" for a LONG Nose. Also most long nose has a 9/16 hex plug on the sides under the sprocket but not all versions as Rexroth has many different engineering designs over the years for this motor. All versions have the 3/16" plugs on the end of the drive where the lugs are.
