That's bull s she's not the first. Those are African moves. All she did was put her own twist to it.

breaking comes from a mixture of gymnastics/martial arts and ballet...as mentioned by chino of the new york city breakers in a late 1970s video clip (its on youtube)...these guys used to watch a lot of kung fu movies in the 70s and many breaking moves come from these movies...capoeira has had limited influence if any.

what an amazing video!!! and the music is fantastic - some of my favourite electro tracks that have been fantastically remixed...i am shocked by some of the moves in this video - absolutely amazing!!! 1990s/headspins/swipes/uprocking/top rocking...and i loved the two king tut guys - great co-ordination and so funny!!. so much for bboying coming from the bronx in the 70s...load of bullshit!!. the only thing missing here is kung fu...many bboy moves came from the kung fu films of the 70s!!

further more all of the break dancing you see today is for show, lots of gymnastics etc. the whole hip hop culture has been commercialized. its great thats it has spread into other parts of the world but its lost its meaning, the voice and expression of those with NO voice and ignored in the mainstream culture. Same with Art and anything else!

bboying is about originality... and these guys inspired the future bboys so..we can't say that they don't deserve the title of ''first bboys'' but we can't say that they truly are...so just give em respect and don't talk too much about the title being apropriate or not.

Seems U R contradicting yourself by saying breaking isn't a culture, but then say it's an element of something that's well known as being a culture. Hmmm. In simple terms a culture is anything that is a way of life of a group of people that indulge it constantly. Hip-hop, skateboarding, gang-banging R just a few examples. Breaking is a Hodge-podge of different elements. I think the video simply shows how closely related different dances are. We know it's not literally breaking.

breakdancing isnt a culture,its a part,an element of the HipHop culture. It is different from what you can see in the video. It has certain similarities,because breaking evolved from this(well,sure was inspired), but man its something else. Breaking isnt just moves,but a dance. TopRocking, going down to a footwork, freezes, than airmoves....bboys/bgirls gotta have some flava, style...flow in what they're doing...and music is the most important.....dictates the way you move...you know

Plus the culture never started with "acrobatic" moves, it began with the "rocking" and footwork, the acrobatic moves were later on added to it as it evolved and grew more popular.

What sets our dance apart from others is the footwork. Footwork is basically the spine of this dance, what makes it unique!

Break dancing incorporates ALL THE ELEMENTS seen in this video including acrobatics. Anyone with eyes can see there is no real difference except the clothes, the time period & the fact break dancing was/is a culture.. Here's an Idea- put old period music to some B-boy videos and see that it works in reverse. Their moves will fit perfectly. Better yet... put those old clothes on them along with the music and see if there's any real VISUAL difference!
