EPIC FISHING SESSION - WITH A CATCH AND COOK (SASHIMI)
Headed down to the Rakaia river for a session on the Kahawai and it really didn't dissapoint! Multiple fish landed and plenty returned to the sea. Of the ones we kept we enjoyed some Sashimi Kahawai which was spectacular. The rest was smoked up for seafood chowder and smoked kahawai dip. Such an underrated fish and great fun on light gear.

Nice work,just wondering what sort of caller are been mainly used,
We run JJ Lares Hybrids and Phelps Game Calls Single Reed which is new this season and I love it.
Nice going! Just my observation but it seemed ole mate was over calling a bit at times especially with the aggressive chuckle, the odd single quack and a drake call work well I find and hail call when out wide, great looking spot and mean vid all the same.
Appreciate the comment, I understand where you’re coming from with different calling for different situations. What you don’t always see in these videos is the working of birds round and round, trying lots of calling,quiet calling, no calling etc. I trust paddy as one of the best callers I know, he knows how to work a bird and it seemed to work in this instance.

Man it has been a while since I've been out hunting honkers. The last time that we went out for honkers it was a big limit. Yeah other times the pond was frozen over, Man wished we had a ice eater to open up water and keep it open. We need to get ice eaters in New Zealand.

5 shot magazines mine holds 5 3” shells. My gun is chambered in 3.5” so technically I would be allowed a longer mag extension than I have on there which they still sell in stores in Nz.

Hi there good footage if you utude duck language on how to call ducks i see useing the feed call you should drope that and use hen on water creating call come back that guy no what he talking about hope this will help because that the only thing i can see thats letting you down chers duckman
