Deep in the underwater Islands right before you get to the blood kelp zone. 300ish meters. Water is crystal dark blue. Beautiful spots with tons of operating room and vies. Plus there's a leviathan over there, too.

It could be cut in about half the logs required. You're using way to many. And it makes it easier to determine distance.

Breathe Edge really does feel like subnautica early on.. but starts to feel really hollow in comparison about midway through. I really hope Breathedge 2 lean more into the subnautica vibe (Base building and vehicles) and away from the (mostly) linear progression and weird gunplay.. I get there going to keep the poorly translated dad jokes, that's kind of their schtick lol

Watch for my aquatic survival game, 'Blue Terra,' that is currently in preproduction. We have a powerful art team and an original story and world. It isn't a Subnautica knock off.

Sunkenland is an asset flip that doesn't trigger thalassophobia and doesn't even have professional level art design.

Influxus is the only one in the list that may have some of the primary elements that might satisfy some aquatic survival Players. It's all about thalassophobia, megalophobia and mechanophobia.

I'm planning to build a base at the overlap of lillypad island/ purple vents/ the purple tree place. There's a lovely vent garden... Oh and a massive shrimp

Your video is incredibly good, ive been looking for new survival games to play in months and normally its always the same 10 ish survival games everyone talks about, but your list literally will double if not the tripple the games i currently play

Planet Crafter looks like it could be a good game however i have some serious doubts about how long it would take to complete. Neebs gaming did a sponsorship for the game not to long ago and after doing some basic early game building they showed off a world one of there editor hade made where from the look of things she hade reached the endgame of the tech tree. They never mentioned how long time it toke her to build it but assuming she started to play as they got the offer it wasent more then a few days. There are games where u can quickly get through a build tech tree but those games often has a story or enemy creatures to try and slow u down but that dosent seem to exist in this game and becouse of how u unlock the tech tree everything in the game just revolved around mass crafting to speedrun that tech tree. The foundation of the game looked good but if they dont add anything more then just building i dont se this game going anywhere.

Less is more: Moon Pool will fit anything you actually need in it. Water maker uses too much power anyway.

I thoight the look of Under the Waves was a lot like Subanutica. The internet in general seems to believe that Outer Wilds is the game most like Subnautica.

Oh this is exactly the kind of video i was looking for. Been wondering what I could learn from for my own Subnautica like and here you've done an entire grading system with that in mind. Incredible. I hadn't heard about Planet Crafter, that looks like a ton of fun.

I'm sure you've learnt this by now but you can scrap bunnies.

I love Pacific Drive! I feel like I missed out not having the radio on all the time though, some of the stuff you hear is... interesting.

If I may add another suggestion: Grounded. I often describe it as "Subnautica meets Honey I Shrunk the Kids." While it's more combat based, its strong narrative and diverse base building mechanics are similar. Like Subnautica, it has an engrossing mystery. Like Subnautica, it rewards you for exploring. It also will also terrify you. If you don't have arachnophobia, you will by the time you're done playing this.

My favorite area in Sea Treader’s path is the massive cave there. Perfect for a base and very cozy.

To me the game that most examplifies the game style of Subnautica is Starsand. It IS Subnautica bar two features, there is limited unavoidable combat and it is set in a desert. All other elements, exploring the unknown, finding 'blueprints', tool building, strange creatures, environmental storytelling, non essential basebuilding and environment survival is there.

The long dark just turned into a dev money scam avoid it like the plague. All these years and not even finished episode wise total scam.

When I was looking for games that had the same gameplay loop and flow as Subnautica I've found Grounded and Raft. Currently I'm playing Voidtrain.

You either missed the point of why Subnautica is so great either you don't get it. Thalasophobia is what makes subnautica great, and the feeling of beeing stranded in an Alien ocean where you have no idea what creatures are in it, how deep it is, how dangerous it is and how massive it is and NOT having any true weapons, except that bloody stasis gun that contradicts the whole game philosophy and breaks the game at some point). Running arround like a headless chicken to build a base is NOT what makes Subnautica great. Is the lack of visibility in the ocean, the constant danger of dying from something, the plunge in to Abyss feel. None of these is even close to that and they completly miss the point.

8 out of 9 of these games are either in my game library, or on my wishlist. I didn't know about Infulxis, it is now in my library :) Thank you for this list!

i get that it's relatively impossible to replicate even similarly to what someone could competently build with provided materials and such. it just bothers me that the more "futuristic" any crafting is the less immersive the game is. Out of all the different LEGO games, for example, there's yet to be a survival style LEGO game.

I usually build my base in the lava zone; there are places there that aren’t directly policed by the leviathan.
