The voice for Gmork in this version is terrible...anyway, I remember watching this in KINDERGARTEN CLASS!! Yes, the teachers brought this in and let a bunch of 5 year olds watch this movie....I was absolutely terrified by Gmork! Still loved the movie though....

To me the scariest thing about Gmork is his wisdom. A werewolf hiding in a cave who would suddenly attack Atreyu is a scary concept, but an ancient, intelligent beast of darkness that opens the eyes of the hero and crushes him by only speaking is frightening. There is a reason I remember him more than anyone else.

That wolf is the source of my fear of my wolves and the night. Even though I love wolves and think they look awesome, few things look more scary than a snarling wolf at night with glowing eyes. That all started like 20+ years ago? Won't let my kids watch it without an image change.
