    You can use the 8 as an ascender. Just clip into the big hole anchor side with your carabiner

    Nice video! When using the dasi chain. Rotate the platform in a way to put twist in the dasi chain and tighten the platform.

    I just purchased this platform for my Muddy pro stick and mine didn’t come with and Bolts. Did yours come with the bolts or did you go buy some?

      The side walls are 10’. The main door opening for the barn is 11’ tall. I don’t remember right off how tall the end is.

    Are you going to put a floor between the 10' bents? If so, what are you going to use at what spacing, etc?

      Yes, I’m putting a floor in at one end. I’m using 2”x8” oak board spaced 14” on center. I will be using 1” pine boards for the flooring. Still haven’t got it done yet but that’s the plan. Thank you for watching

    The posts, beams, and trusses, are they all 6x12's? Q2- How long is the side wall post, that go all the way up to the trusses??

      Most of the beams are 6”x8”. The main beam that is 20’ by 6”x10”. If you have any other questions let me know. Thanks

      The bents are 10’ apart. Yes the purlins are 2x6 and the girts are 3x6.

    According to Madrock, the Safeguard is not rated for 8mm and can only be backed up from above the device.

      Hi @ajdrew252, thanks for watching. It all depends on the tree and how much cover there is. Here in Michigan lately I’ve been hunting around 15’ in the early season. When the leaves fall off I’ll normally hunt around 20’. My rappel rope is 35’.

    At 3:57 you have enough slack to break bones and get internal bleeding from the fall onto static rope in case the ladder breaks. If you use hyperstatic aramid/dyneema rope like oplux, the result is even worse. You could put in the linemans before advancing on the steps, hold on the linemans and skip it up on every step as one would do when using spurs and linemans belt to climb a pole.

    Cool video. Only thing keeping me from one sticking is the fear of dropping my stick and having to figure out how to repel lol.

      It takes a little practice to get comfortable one sticking and rappelling but we have definitely benefited from it. Good luck to you this season!

      Thanks for watching! We use 6mm Sterling TRC rope for the Distel hitch. A 4 foot piece is what you need for length. You will have to tie a double fisherman’s knot for the loops on the end.
