I Done the weatherstrip modification and the end foam. Works like a charm. After a month, the visible coils are as clean as it was brand new. Thanks for the good work. He needs to get off it's butt and do a factory filter fix, similar.
Which shop light did you use? Hoping to do the same and not sure how to pick one, or if they are all roughly the same 😊
Great idea! Most of us bought the harbor freight to do things on a budget anyway. This is a great way to accomplish greater lengths but not spend an arm and a leg. Appreciate the idea and you posting it!
@@kekedatackleco.7172 It's working great so far. Thanks for the comment!
What do you expect to buy appliances made in China, and actually work, plus Europe has been making combos since the 60/70 and they still fail. Why just falling into a marketing scam
Well unfortunately damn near everything is made in china!
@@OzarkLivin not really miele, Bosch , Beko, are made in Europe. Whirlpool although I don't like it is still us made. Samsung is usually Korean much better than china
Could you wrap the bottom strip around the back under the large block of foam to keep it from detaching on the corner?
That's not a bad idea, might be worth a try.
The links in the description are the same for both the top/bottom and ends.
when I click the links it is working for me not sure what the issue is. this is for top and bottom www.amazon.com/dp/B07S9X3HG6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 this is for end www.amazon.com/dp/B07W7JR35H?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
let me know if that works. Thanks
I’m looking for the make, model of the Spryer pls
@sylviagibbons456 Bauer brand at harbor freight. 20v cordless sprayer. Let me know if you can't find it I'll try and get a link
What was happening when it stopped working? Mine will run on wash and just sit when it’s time to dry
MIne would act like it was drying but the compressor never came on so it would just blow air. Have you checked your codes? If not google how to check codes on this unit. If you need help let me know.
@@OzarkLivin I got a check and clean drain pump filter code. Cleaned that, ended up being a penny in the tube that I could luckily fish out. Now I’m running a quick cycle hoping it’ll do its thing and go from wash to dry
Update for anyone that sees my comment and has the same issue… check the pump! Mine had a ball of yarn from a baby hat stuck in it. Just pulled it out put everything back together and it’s good to go
@@mrcc804 awesome thanks for the update!
What do you think about placing all the weather strips INSIDE the unit? It might let you use a longer runs on the top and bottom so you can feed the filter in and not catch on the edges.
Not a bad idea and I thought about that but with my wife and daughter using this unit i was worried if weather strips came loose might cause more issues plus cleaning the unit would be harder imo. Thanks for the comment
Can someone tell me. Does that open up to be cleaned also ?
Do you have a link for the filter material you are using?

Thank you for that info. Can you tell me what size wire trough you are using . Thanks.
wire Trough is 6''x6''x3' Thanks for the comment
What if you build a pontoon raft to spray from?
how long is the track and do they make an extension?
@jacobkincaid123 I think it's about 11' u can cut a log about 9'6. They don't sell an extension kit but you can order parts from them and make your own. Not sure why they haven't put together an extension kit for people to buy seems like they are missing out on alot of money. Also I think someone on youtube used a woodland mills extension kit with the harbor freight mill.

Thanks for this, I had the same issue yesterday. Found your video this morning, tried this, back up and running. Thanks again for the video.
@AZjoe52 glad it worked for you!
Ive been having a lot of issues with this unit getting stuck on "load sensing" during the drying cycle. The top is getting extremely hot to the touch and mine is in an open area. You experienced anything like this?
is your software updated?
@@OzarkLivin yea, my wife has the app on her phone and checks it at least monthly.
@@bboy458 ok, yeah i have seen my machine in the past do that some but haven't noticed it recently. The top of the machine will get warm but not extremely hot.. Is your coil good and clean?
@@OzarkLivin I just ordered one of the lint brushes and a vacuum attachment today so hopefully I'll be able to say yes to that tomorrow.

Just buy the Samsung Bespoke washer/Dryer combo it's the best!
I've purchased the two weather seals from amazon, they're not the exact model but should be a direct equivalent because I'm from Canada and the stocks are a little different. What I find for the felt type seals, the little strands come off if you pull on them. They're not glued to the base but weaved on. My worry is that they would get sucked into the coil little by little, eventually causing problems. Do you find that the felt strands come off from your seals too?
Thank you for this video...definitely a problem I have with the unit. Do you have a video on how you were able to clean the unit? At this point I'm contemplating taking it apart...but hoping it doesn't come to that. I have some crevice tools for my vacuum, but they only reach in about 8 inches...and I need something to get to the back, back left and then to clean those fins without damaging / altering them.
I don't have a video of me vacuuming but i do have this video cleaning with a sprayer, this was after using a brush and vacuum. th-cam.com/video/ehZy3pCXyQ8/w-d-xo.html

@@OzarkLivin Thank you!
Hello. Have had this for 3 days. I put a small load in last night on quick wash setting. When I woke up my phone notified me that it had been running on combination load for 80 minutes? What does that mean ? Washed several loads before on same setting and it never said this ? And ty for the lint solution. Perfect
Is your machine still having problems? I'm not sure exactly what the issue is either. There is a way to get the error codes maybe that would help figure out the problem.
@OzarkLivin apparently it was just telling me that it take 80 mins to was and dry that size load . It works perfectly
OK great!
Another question. How to you get it to dry something air dry only 0 heat?
@@daisymayla i don't think there is a zero heat setting but this unit doesn't cook your clothes like standard dryers.
LINT CAN CAUSE A FIRE 🔥 🔥 🚒 7 AUGUST 2024 WEDNESDAY 🇺🇸🎺
You should use a glass because the micro plastics will het into the roots 🤷🏼♀️. Just my two cents lol. Thank for the video though.
Glass would be better but its what i had close by LOL Thank you
Awesome. I’ve been using your solution and had similar success. The peeling back on the stripping also happened to me because of family. May I ask how many loads you do before clearing the filter?
I really don't have a specific number of loads before cleaning i just slightly pull out filter and if it looks like it needs cleaned i clean it :) about every 2 or 3 loads
Thanks man...loving mine too.....
Home Guy Solutions recommends a water sprayer to use on the coils and on the other side where the hole is. There might be more lint on the roof of the side with the hole. It has shown to accumulate there.
@gnewt75 yes! I actually uploaded a video using a sprayer. Thanks for comment
@@OzarkLivinperfect!!!
Can you leave a link for the weather stripping that you use? Thanks!

Thank you!
Other than that filter, I think the design of this machine is as close to perfect as they will ever be. GE did a great job with that… With the exception of the filter design. Way to go!
No heating element so the machine can only rely on the hot water from the House there for hot is never hot and sanitize is a job. Clothes won't get washer at more than 100*f a total joke
Should have got a speed queen
u would think that GE would sell a updated version of the filter in aftermarket to fix this problem...
That's right, an updated lint filter is the easiest solution. A few years down the road as these machines start to drop like flies there may be a class action for them selling products that have known problems.
how do you circulate water through the big totes at the bottom?
@@HellTriX I just use a cheap water pump.
@@OzarkLivin oh, one in each tote to circulate the water?
@@HellTriX correct each tote has its own pump. Water is pumped up from the big tote to the totes with plants and drains back to the big tote. Let me know if you have more questions
How do you clean off the filter now that you have taped it all up.
@@martiamatters8710 I used weather stripping no tape, I just clean it the same way I did before I added weather stripping
I’m certainly not going through all of that water spraying crap who has time for that. It has to be a different way.
Great video and fix! I noticed in your updated short video, that you now how the back 1 inch form modified to be shorter and curved? Why is that and should we be doing it as well?
When you insert the filter the 1" foam changes shape(I didn't cut it)because the back of the filter housing is shaped that way. Hope that answers your question
@@OzarkLivin So... It just became sqiushed like that over time and you used the full 1 inch in the back?
@@DIGITAL-POST that is correct and yes full 1" in back
Looks like you have a good irrigation system, think you need it in that heat!
Yeah I definitely need it in this heat for sure, I have it set on a timer every 6hrs.
@@OzarkLivin Seems to be doing the trick though!
i had the same issue with one of mine, But no matter what I did it never came back. EG4 asked for it back for RMA to try to figure out what went wrong. During the RMA process another one of my units lost WIFI too. I guess I should try the same reset process on that one and see if it comes back or if its permanently disconnected.
@@HellTriX I tried several different ways of trying to get it to work again and nothing did the trick until I unplugged the AC from grid and disconnected the solar panels from the unit for about 5 minutes and then wifi icon came back on. Have you tried this yet? Let me know if it works for you.
@@OzarkLivin I just tried it a few hours ago. Pulled the breaker and the neutral. and all the solar panels. Gave it 30 minutes and still no wifi unfortunately.
@@HellTriX I'm assuming you tried pushing the light button on the remote 8 times within 10 seconds? It will make a beeping noise and wifi is supposed to start flashing. Make sure temp is still displayed on screen.
@@OzarkLivin yip, tried it. Tried everything, not sure whats wrong with my house burning up the wifi modules in these. Wonder if my inverters are putting out unclean power since my house is solar+battery powered.
@@HellTriX Well that sucks. I'm not sure, guess i was lucking fixing mine. Let me know if you figure it out. Is EG4 still testing the old unit?
I see you changed the foam on the end from your original video, can you give a more detailed description of what you did?
I took a utility knife and cut along my roots to find the borers and took them out, then i buried the cut open vines in soil, and cut the leading tip off that vine to hopefully promote root growth along the buried parts i did surgery on. I spread some Diatomaceous earth around bottom to prevent anything else getting to the roots. Keeping them covered under a shade cloth and keeping the soil covered parts moist. Hoping to save it.
@@xXelitegpXx good idea! Let me know if this works for you. Thanks for the comment!
Lack of water is your issue or you forget to pick a veggie that ripened on the vine. The plant will start to whither as it’s reached it’s purpose, pick early pick often. I have raised beds atm and had the same thing happen to my squash. From what I understand is when plants can’t retain a steady supply of water (being that you have raised bags, they just dry out to quick being above ground) . Same problem I’m having just not a good enough layer of mulch on top. Check out Paul Gautchi garden tours if you haven’t already as well as the Back To Eden Documentary?
Thanks for the comment! I will do some research.
Cars have had air filters that seal perfectly for 100 years. What's the problem?
IF no one has addressed the black foam filter , that also needs to be cleaned i would say every 15-20 loads ,it get gunked up on the inside where you can't see unless you take it apart ,i wash mine gently by hand ,then roll it up in a towel twisting it gently to get most of the water out ,For what this machine costs GE could have made a better filter system .
That ain't no wasp but cool
It is definitely a red wasp! They are everywhere here. Thanks for commenting
@@OzarkLivin oh thx
$2,700 machine owned for 10 months and is no longer drying the clothes. I suspect it is due to the lint as lint is building up everywhere just like your machine.
Have you contacted GE yet? If so keep us posted, hopefully they get it fixed soon.
This was a few months ago, has everything been resolved? Any issues with the pieces coming off?? Thanks!
Still working great I did replace the bottom weather stripping because multiple people use this combo and someone didn't line the filter up properly after cleaning lint off so it slightly peeled back. If you buy the roll of weather stripping you can just replace as needed.
@@OzarkLivin Since you took out the middle piece on top and bottom, does that eliminate one of the rolls I need to buy? Just get the 1x1 and the 11/32x11/32 and the 3/16 isn't needed??
@@mayer7196 that's correct you don't need 3/16" roll.
