Restoring Dad’s Super Tool Part 3: Rust Removal and Handle Disassembly
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Part 3 of my restoration of my dad’s Super Tool from 1996. The rust removal soak worked SO well I’m very very happy with the results. I was so foolish to try and drill that one screw out but either way, I would be getting new fasteners no matter what. There’s too much rust in there. I also ordered the replacement plier head so hopefully around mid-June this project will be completed. I’m going ...
Leatherman Bond Review
มุมมอง 1.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I’m well aware that there’s a like, 6 minute rant sandwiched in this video. The Bond has SO much potential to be a nice and simple EDC but, this knife fiasco is a joke. Come on LTG. Fix it. If you hate the rant then just skip ahead to where I talk about what I like about the Bond. #leatherman #leathermanbond #edc #multitool
Leatherman Bond first impressions
มุมมอง 7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The Bond is a new offering from Leatherman. It just came out in May 11th. I’m really excited to use this multi tool and can’t wait to give this one a full review after I test it out. The Bond feels like an updated PST or a non locking Rebar. #leatherman #edc #leathermanbond
Restoring Dad’s Super Tool part 2: Plier Head Removal

In this episode I take off the plier head and then get held up trying to take off the screwing holding in the interior tools. I have the Vise-Grips now so hopefully it goes smoother down the line.
Restoring my Dad’s Super Tool part 1: Overview
มุมมอง 1.4K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I am very open to suggestions or any comments on this since this is the first time I’ll be restoring anything that’s been this heavily worn. My dad used this tool to the max and I feel bad just letting it sit on a shelf in this condition. I have memories of this tool as a kid, opening up everything and then not knowing you can’t close it back up! I might make a modification or two but I’m think...
Leatherman Rev Review

Jeep (Kowe) Lighter Multi-Tool review
มุมมอง 4083 ปีที่แล้ว
Something you probably haven’t seen before, a Jeep branded multi tool that my grandfather had sitting in his dresser for a long time. This thing is pretty cool, and gets me interested in trying to seek out some more of these smaller multi-tools with lighters built in. Definitely a good idea to have a lighter with you if you can, especially if you were going camping or hiking and got lost. I did...
Gerber Suspension-NXT Review
มุมมอง 8453 ปีที่แล้ว
This is such a mixed bag of a multi tool. There’s some stuff to like here, such as the spring loaded pliers, the plier head design, and the tools inside the handles, all nice. However this multi tool is really brought down a lot by the handles. I’m not sure what the blade steel is as it’s not mentioned anywhere that I can find $35 at Home Depot when I bought this #gerbergear #multitool #edc #ge...

I got a second dog this week! So no new tool or knife video this week. So far Taina is getting along very well with my other dog Bailey, an 11 year old Cocker Spaniel. Going to take some time and get her acclimated to our house and our daily routine and scheduling. Have a good week everyone. #dog #adopteddog #dogsofyoutube
Zippo Butane Single Torch Insert review
มุมมอง 17K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I really think this is a great idea for someone who carries a Zippo but is frustrated by having to change flints and wicks out. This is also good for the person who carries a lighter but doesn’t use it often and ends up with fluid evaporation. By the way at one point I said that this wasn’t a new product. I guess it is, I was remembering Zippo Blu. Those command ridiculous money on eBay now. I ...

3:25 I can open up the blade without any problem. The reason for the location of that notch on the blade, is because if the notch is close to the hinge and spine...it will significantly compromise the blades strenght. Also, maybe your hands are soft, as i dont have any issue with the pliers grip I think its a wonderful quality EDC

You should never turn a lighter flame adjustment down tight. Never go below the minimum flame height required that you light

The clip is on the left side so it has to absorb the left thigh in motion with each step. Most right handed people carry left pocket. If they moved the clip to the right side, it wouldn’t have to absorb such a direct impact from walking.

😘 GOOD TIPS : if you have the right wrench to disassemble your rebar, you can add a pair of wave scissors, without loosing any tool. Just remove the big washer and the lanyard ring, and switch handle the can opener. You now have enought space to add a pair of scissors. 😉😉😉

Just checked your videos to see if you finished this. getting ready to attempt my own restoration. I got one one on Ebay for 20 plus shipping in pretty bad shape. my biggest issues are what a previous owner did with the grinder to take down the plier tips and grind off the serrations. because these issues are intentionally inflicted I don't think I'll send it in. I'm pretty happy with the OG ST frame as a modding platform and want to add some scissors at a minimum.

In a pinch, you can also hold the 110 near the locking bar, grip tight as crap, and sling it open. I dropped mine more than once figuring out how to do that, and may again in the future. Not recommended, but possible. Also it sounds super cool kinda like alligator jaws snapping.

I actually love the fact that this is a 2 hand opening knife. The reason why, every single shooting or bomb threat at my local schools, cops search for weapons and I live right on the road that they always have a road block for those checkpoints. I hate watching the news, so if I carry this, my Knifeless Rebar, or my Bond, I am set to go, police checkpoints or not. I had my Charge G10 taken from me and I had to go to court to get it back. I had to pay a fine to get it back as well, so I am kinda stressed out, carrying a 1 hand opening knife. My job is even getting to the point where security either won't allow knives, or they look for something that can be used as a weapon. I do building maintenance and remodeling at different buildings, so my Knifeless Rebar is pretty much my work multitool. I wish I could use a Surge but every building with security won't let a 3 inch knife in. I love 1 hand opening knives and I have a few with ball bearings, that really fly open, which is fun, but sadly I can't carry them anymore. Stupid kid threats a school and everyone pays the price around here. I am glad that I at least have options like the Rev, which if I had to, I could still open 1 hand, but yet it's considered a 2 hand knife. I think it's awesome because of that. I believe Germany can't have 1 hand opening knives either, which it's a law over there. I live in Michigan by Detroit. It does suck for everyone else who can have a 1 hand opening knives, but this allows me to daily carry the Rev and I am not stressed out when I see a cop road side search. I show them and I go now. If I am pulled to the side for a extended search, I am annoyed but I know that I am not going to lose my multitool again.

I have a Rebar with black coated tools & coyote brown handles. I run it in a coyote brown Clip&carry kydex sheath. It's stiff to open & close, but I really like it a lot. That serrated sheep's foot blade really works well on thick rope.

For eveuone who don't know how to fix it, you need to cap the frame rate to 60fps cuz this prblem is related to high frame rate (if you go above 60fps you'll get this problem) idk where to find the file to change the fps cap...

This was SOG's learning curve multi tool. I bought several in 1992 when multitools were becoming popular. The folding plier head is not good. It folds up at the most unfortunate time. The tools do not lock, so you have to fold up the handle to keep it from folding on your fingers and possibly cutting them off. Leatherman is so much better and better engineering and design and production. The Paratool was "meh" and that's it. I keep it in my truck's glove box for little things like removing windshield wipers blades for a new pair.
