My Honda guy said too always change the crush washers, always.

Pro tip: after cracking loose oil filter, put a red Solo cup over it and pinch to unscrew filter to catch all the oil dripping

Thank you for this video; nice quality! HOWEVER, always grab the torque wrench from the handle they provide - it is not calibrated from the middle of the wrench - half way would be double the torque on the bolt when it "clicks." No big deal on a low torque cover bolt maybe, but if you are doing something critical like main bearing caps, heads, etc. you want to be more accurate than +/- 100%.

Per the service guide, before installing 2nd bolt on Driver Side, the oil pan bolt in the bolt hole located between the torque converter clutch on and U/D clutch pressure tap circuits, it will be necessary to replentish the sealing patch on the bolt using Mopar Lock & Seal Adhesive. Here you can use Loctite Threadlocker Blue or Permatex Medium Strength Threadlocker Blue.

Early liberty's with 45RFE trans (2002, early 2003) have a different type filter (metal) and o ring, it is enclosed in a metal base that must be tapped into valve body without distorting it, most people use seal driver or socket that matches outside diameter to insert it, lube it with fluid, be sure to remove old one first, just a heads up.

Thank you for the detailed instructions. I'm wondering about the rotating torque required for the pinion nut. The 2005 Jeep KJ Service Manual says "Rotating torque should be equal to the reading recorded during removal plus an additional 0.56 N·m (5 in. lbs.)." Are you recommending 10 in. lbs.?

Hello, I’m gearing up to do this job on my daughters 06 Jeep liberty. I was looking at the rebuild kits versus a new driveshaft as it’s just a ripped boot for now but not sure about those kits. Anyway, looks like this video is about a year old what brand did you buy and how is it holding up? Thanks

Is there a reason why the front diff cover wasn't taken off like the rear?

I am doing mine tomorrow. I decided to go with Valvoline Max Life full synthetic... mainly due to it being on sale. Looks easy enough.

Is this with or without replacing the crush sleeve because I’m not getting near that torque reading. If I go over 100 it feels like it gets hard to turn and feels like it catches. Also takes 30 in/lbs to move

Thank you for posting this. Mine on the passenger side fell off at some point. Showing the part number really helped to make sure I ordered the right part. It snapped on so easy. Even someone who is terrible at working on cars (me) can install this piece.
