350 Legend enough? Daughter's 11 point sure thought so last season. She had her choice between the 243 Win and the 350 Legend. She preferred the Legend in an AR platform. We were using the Win 150gr XP load.

I know I am 2 years late and a dollar short to this conversation but I just came across this on TH-cam. A senior Ohio hunter here and used a Savage Axis II XP 350 Legend during the 2023 season. Three deer taken (my county's limit) across 4 days of hunting. The first made it about 45 yards with a shoulder/double lung shot. The second down immediately at 28 yards with a head shot. The third I took at 58 yards and reminds me of the deer taken in this video at 5:10. Back-flipped and managed to go another 20 yards downhill before piling up. A couple of observations. I'll take shot placement over knockdown power any day; although both work well together :). And the 350 Legend is a deceptively wonderful deer cartridge. For the record, used the Winchester Deer Season XP 150 grain Extreme Point...

Please, I can knock down a whitetail at 50 yards with a 22 magnum. I own a 350 Legend that my grandkids all have used when first learning how to shoot. I handload 147gr 9mm bullets so it's very cheap to shoot and it teaches them the skills they need with low recoil and they have taken a few deer with it. IMHO it's better than a 30/30 but I've seen more deer lost to it than any other round especially over 100 yards or so. My Ruger American in 450 Bushmaster is head and shoulders beyond where the 350L lives, 200-225 yard shots are easy, most animals are DRT no problem. In a bolt gun you can load it way over factory rounds designed for an AR making it even more effective than a 308 within 300 yards and at 2600fps I'm not talking a trajectory like a rainbow either. The 350L has it's place but it's little more than a warmed over 357 Maximum. I had one of those also in a T/C Encore, not impressed. It is very cheap to shoot and practice is the best way to sharpen your skills but the only thing the 350L has on it is a couple hundred fps, and the case rim is the same as a 223/556 which makes it very adaptable to many actions.

Thanks for this comparison video. I'm looking to upgrade my G20 and it looks like the G50 is harder to find and more expensive. I better get the G60 soon as I fear the future of Prosumer camcorders are being faded out due to popularity of mirrorless cameras.
