Buddhist Monk teaches 16 year old how to be happy
You may have noticed that feeling peaceful and happy is becoming more and more difficult - there are many reasons for this including the rise of social media as well as an increasingly divided world.
One of the key methods to re-connect to the natural happiness we have within us is to develop positive states of mind.
In this short video 16 year old Max meets Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Dornying who teaches him how to quickly change his mind into a state of love, giving him an immediate sense of wellbeing. Enjoy! And better still - try it yourself!

    Que increíble entrevista, toca un punto en mi camino que tiene que ver, precisamente, con el trabajo que tenía y al cual tuve que renunciar porque no era lo mío y era más la tristeza de asistir que un estado de realización profesional o sentido de vida!. Este maestro realmente inspira a seguir el camino espiritual!

    This is fantastic -I believe that our tradition flourishes by us sharing our life journeys and being open and willing to share what that transition from "being a person in the world" to finding the true path to happiness is or has been for us. May all happiness and joy be fulfilled 🙏🏼

    In Buddhism, does individual life start with the first breath or in the womb? asking for a friend.

    • @Gavin_Francis
      @Gavin_Francis 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Scientifically, life does start within the womb... otherwise how would a fetus grow and become a baby in 9 months ... during this time it does everything that a living-breathing thing does -- moves around, eats through the fallopian tube...reacts to external stimuli like music or the voice of her mother and then finally its ready to enter this world !

    • @KadampaLeeds
      @KadampaLeeds 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Buddhists believe that the consciousness from the previous life enters the fertilised ovum at the moment of conception. So yes in the womb.

    Thank you for this wisdom🪷🐚 Have you received any transmission for wrathful purification for deep rooted emotional negativity, such as that arising for those with chronic 'incurable' diseases? Would you recommend black manjushri even though he's not within the pantheon of deity empowerments of our tradition? As a practitioner of our modern tradition, from the atisha center, requiring immediate deep purification of heavy negativity manifesting as deeply disturbed wind disease, from negative karma in particular broken vows and commitments and would like to know what your advice is Gen Dornying. I have received a practice utilising the heart power of vajrapani within Vajrasatva, with the mantra Om vajrastavo sarwa sidhi hum hum phat phat phat, where I visualise blue electric wisdom nectar shooting in my heart purifying with each round of the mantra; but continue to get lost not knowing which practice I should keep ay my heart. Thank you for your deep wisdom 🙏🌀🌘

    I started visiting a kadampa centre recently, and i hope to attend more and delve deeper into the beauty and peace of buddhism. I'd love to take a similar path to this :-) As a woman, I am curious if ordination would work differently though.

    • @ShimmerBodyCream
      @ShimmerBodyCream หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends what sect you want to ordain in. Zen and Tibetan Buddhism are the most female-friendly from what I know. The speaker here is a Tibetan Buddhist.

    • @KadampaLeeds
      @KadampaLeeds หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, why don’t you have a chat with the teacher at the centre you’re attending? In general it’s best to take your time and consider this carefully as ideally your ordination will last a lifetime - so not something to be rushed. In the Kadampa tradition we make no discrimination at all between and male and female. Ordained nuns and monks are treated exactly the same.

    • @maeriaemarie7119
      @maeriaemarie7119 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KadampaLeeds Of course, I wouldn't rush and it's something i would consider in 5-10 years time. Thank you for the response. I will be attending a Thai buddhist temple closer to me to learn more and I'm looking forward to it.
