    I'm still learning, but copper is a real joy to work with! The problem I'm running into is it turning skin green. Is there a good way to coat it to both protect the patina, and a person's skin?

    • @milledartistry
      @milledartistry 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you can seal them, but most copper lovers want the raw copper. You can use a clear coat (for bare metal), epoxy, or some even use clear nail polish. Regardless, whatever you seal it with will peal off in 6 months-3years. I've never tried the epoxy, so I can't say how long it lasts, but I can foresee some complications if using it on earwires. Or latches, depending on the type of epoxy used. However, food for thought. The green happens as a chemical reaction between the wearer and copper when they have a hormone imbalance or a weakened immunity. The green goes away on its own once the imbalance is corrected. An old saying "skin turning green? Take warning in 3 days you'll be green (sick). It's been used for thousands of years to help stop/lessen sicknesses by improving health at 1st symptoms, not the 1st cough.

This one is actually the very 1st crazy wirework choker I made. It was originally set to go out in my 1st or 2nd Crazy Wire Work Jewelry releases a few years ago, but I couldn't list it. lol. I don't currently have a video on the full making of this design, but I can certainty put it on the schedule ;) If you're willing to wait it, and if you're not already, make sure to subscribe. What a shame, are you here to show off or are you here doing this video to teach? I am very confused. The music is okay if you are just showcasing what you can make or do, but if you are here for any kind of instructive purpose, it would be better for you to talk through what you are doing. Do you watch your own videos? Much of your work is either off camera or your hand is blocking what you are doing. A camera view from over the top would be much better, one looking down on what you are doing. That is, IF you are doing the video for instructional purpose. If none of it is for instructional purpose, then make your jewelry on your own time, not mine. If you are here to sell what you do, then just show me the finished products and pricing! Again, you have a good vibe, however I am disappointed. I tried more than one of your videos to see if they got better, no such luck. I'm so sorry to be so blunt, I am an elderly woman, disabled, but my mind and hands still work, so I was looking for something worthwhile to do to keep busy and perhaps earn a little extra money to help make ends meet. Thank you anyway, Rosey

    • @milledartistry
      @milledartistry ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for taking the time out to watch and comment. No, these are not directly for direction. This is intuitive jewelry crafting for the one special person who will receive it. I started making the videos at my customers' requests, who appreciate the pride, quality, seeing the process, and time into the making for their new one-off jewelry. I appreciate your time, so let's get you in the right place for you. I'm not the right person for where you are at right now for learning, and that's okay. If I can offer you a little help, my favorite wire wrap jeweler coach and teacher here on TH-cam is youtube.com/@CSLdesigns She was a huge inspiration for me in the beginning to finally start selling my jewelry years ago. I could watch and listen to her for hours, so soothing. I even learned of new techniques from her I'd never seen before. She is amazing for beginning and intermediate wire wrapped instructions. It's been years, but if memory serves correctly, she even has courses if you're really serious about pursuing jewelry making. At The Bench is another great YT channel for: stone setting, clay jewelry, wire wrapping, soldering, learning different metals, techniques, etc. Be warned, jewelry making is expensive. More importantly, hard lesson learned, you need to set your pricing correctly, or it will never pay for it's self and the wear and tear on your hands. I wish you the best and you find the right instructor for you. If I can be of other assistance in the field, feel free to reach out to me. Hope you find what you are looking for, Rosey. Crystal

  • @roseyannette2030
    @roseyannette2030 ปีที่แล้ว

    Regarding wire wrapping: If I can't see what you are doing, how can I learn anything? This was very frustrating. I am going to your home page to see if there are any videos that are better than this one. So disappointing because I like your vibe but I just don't have time to waste. Rosey

    • @milledartistry
      @milledartistry ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rosey, Thank you for your feedback. This was a double shoot live from Facebook and Instagram. My customers enjoy watching the process, hanging out, and just talking with me while I practice my craft.

    • @roseyannette2030
      @roseyannette2030 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@milledartistry I am wondering how anyone watches your process, but I guess it is not important to everyone else, so it should not be important to me. However, it IS important to me, so I will just trolly along to the next channel that mentions wire wrapping and see what they are up to and if they teach me any new tricks or hints. Nuff said, buh bye.

    What bit do you use to polish with

    • @milledartistry
      @milledartistry ปีที่แล้ว

      @kimmiesuecreations4629 I use an assortment of bits varying by the condition and type of metal and/or stone I'm working with. Including: metal bushes, stones, sanding bits, mini metal cutoff wheels, and cloth polishing bits. Finished off with a trip in my tumbler with metal jewelry polishing pieces to clean, polish, and harden the soft metals. With additional hand/wheel polishing/cleaning as needed. The bit in the video is a Dremel EZ course wood sanding wheel I only use this one to get the bad rough off, it just works faster than a stone or diamond bit in this case. It, also, gives a great brushed metal texture!

    • @milledartistry
      @milledartistry ปีที่แล้ว

      @bambie thank you 😊 copper is best raw ❤ but yes there are times it needs to be sealed: Allergies, for children, acid-dipped, and fire antiqued. I sometimes do it for those with slight sensitivities too, but often sensitivity goes away after a few uses. Ear wires are the most likely to cause a sore reaction, especially if you're getting sick, under +/-15 years or for the elderly.
