I have read some scathing criticism of New Atheist Islamophobe Sam Harris on the " World Socialist Web Site ". I myself am an independent democratic socialist of the Old Catholic school ( Dorothy Day perhaps ? ) . NOTE : Lately New Atheism cult propaganda has dishonestly welcomed the ghosts of Carl Sagan and Isaac Asimov to their roadshow team. In life both were unapologetic atheists but with a Socialist-Humanism tone. Carl Sagan wrote in " The Demon Haunted World " about smuggling a copy of Leon Trotsky's " History of the Russian Revolution " into post- communist Russia. Isaac Asimov was sardonic about APARTHEID Israel ( He thought it would never know a day of peace surrounded by dispossessed and oppressed Palestinians ) .

1) The atheist supposed gotcha is that 9 million children died and they all went to hell. But this is not what Christians believe nor what scripture teaches. God is just and will judge according to how folks lived while on earth, nature, nurture and lack thereof. All of us are on our way to hell without Christ Jesus in our lives. There are a few exceptions.... 1) the mentally disabled 2) small children and 3) indigenous peoples who have died without hearing about Jesus. But for most of us, we have heard about Jesus and what we do or don't do with him is our greatest choice. Jesus died on a cross for all of our sin, our wrong doing, past, present and future. He has made a way so we can be made right again with God who is our Father in heaven. Prior to Jesus's sacrifice, God judged people by how they acted. Because all humankind is created in God's image, we all know right from wrong. I believe this logic will apply to those such as indigenous people. But for the rest of us, we get to choose Jesus! Concerning evolution, it is a fairytale that does not hold up to the scientific scrutiny. In fact, honest scientific scrutiny renders it impossible. Do you know a single scientific hypothesis using known biological mechanisms coupled with evolutionary time frames that might support common ancestry between any two animals from any two different family taxon?

I'm an ex-Christian atheist and the likes of Sam and Hitch and the great Dawkins played a big part in my becoming one. What I absolutely hate now is people like the guy he talks to at 7:20-ish. Like, buddy... you are constantly talking from within the confines of a box you put yourself into. One thing I'd love to see is someone like Sam showing up in a LOTR costume for a debate like this and then constantly just talking in the context of LOTR. During the "dispenation of grace" there are no prophecies one can observe to know about the return of christ. 8. The bible does not say we are made in God's image. It says Adam was. It says we are made Adams image.
